The rapid development of blockchain technology and its various applications have attracted huge attention in the last five years. The consensus mechanism and incentive mechanism are the backbone of a blockchain network. The consensus mechanism plays a crucial role in sustaining the network security, integrity, and efficiency. The incentive mechanism motivates the distributed nodes to “mine” so as to participate the consensus mechanism. The existing mechanisms bear the fairness and justice issues. In this paper, from the perspective of mechanism design, we propose a consensus-incentive mechanism through applying continuous double auction theory, which is abbreviated as ABC mechanism. Our mechanism consists of four stages, including initiation stage, auction stage, completion stage, and confirmation stage. The auction model in use is the continuous double auction to ensure the transactions are stored in a real-time manner. Through extensive experimental evaluations, our mechanism is proven to improve the fairness and justice of the blockchain network.

Purposed to collect and store human physiological data, WBANs as a telemedicine system play a significant role in sensor networks. The complex network environment presents a formidable challenge to the stability of the system and the security of the database. The traditional centralized architecture is to store the registration data of the sensor node and the patient's physiological data in the hub node. When the hub node is subjected to Denial of Service attacks (DoS) and Distributed Denial of Service attacks (DDoS), there will be a single point of failure, so that the sensor node cannot establish a communication connection with the hub node. In this paper, a cloud server layer architecture based on blockchain technology is proposed for WBNAs to ensure system stability and patient data security. Meanwhile, Ciphertext-Policy Attribute-Based Encryption (CP-ABE) scheme is used to ensure patient physiological data safety.

Calling Cards is a platform technology to record a cumulative history of transient protein-DNA interactions in the genome of genetically targeted cell types. The record of these interactions is recovered by next-generation sequencing. Compared with other genomic assays, readouts of which provide a snapshot at the time of harvest, Calling Cards enables correlation of historical molecular states to eventual outcomes or phenotypes. To achieve this, Calling Cards uses the piggyBac transposase to insert self-reporting transposon “Calling Cards” into the genome, leaving permanent marks at interaction sites. Calling Cards can be deployed in a variety of in vitro and in vivo biological systems to study gene regulatory networks involved in development, aging, and disease. Out of the box, it assesses enhancer usage but can be adapted to profile-specific transcription factor (TF) binding with custom TF-piggyBac fusion proteins. The Calling Cards workflow has five main stages: delivery of Calling Cards reagents, sample preparation, library preparation, sequencing, and data analysis. Here, we first present a comprehensive guide for experimental design, reagent selection, and optional customization of the platform to study additional TFs. Then, we provide an updated protocol for the five steps, using reagents that improve throughput and decrease costs, including an overview of a newly deployed computational pipeline. This protocol is designed for users with basic molecular biology experience to process samples into sequencing libraries in 2 days. Familiarity with bioinformatic analysis and command line tools is required to set up the pipeline in a high-performance computing environment and to conduct downstream analyses. © 2023 Wiley Periodicals LLC. The output power prediction of wind power plants is an important guarantee to improve the utilization rate of wind energy and reduce wind curtailment. However, due to the strong randomness of wind energy, the ultra-short-term prediction accuracy of wind power output is poor. In view of the problem above, a prediction model based on deep learning of grouped time series (LW-CLSTM) was proposed in this paper. Based on this model, the authors attempted to explore a prediction method of wind power output. For this, first the multivariate data of wind power was fused, cleaned, dimension-reduced, and standardized, and the time period characteristics of the output power itself were extracted. Afterwards, it proposes a time sliding window (TSW) algorithm, and constructs a neural network input data set. Then a deep neural network prediction model combining the Convolutional Neutral Network (CNN) and Long-Short Term Memory (LSTM) was established, and the regression evaluation criteria for output power forecast accuracy in wind power production were designed, to compare the proposed model with four other prediction models. Finally, the experiments on the TensorFlow platform using real data show that this model has better prediction accuracy than the other four models, reaching a prediction accuracy rate of 92.5%, which verified the effectiveness of this prediction method. © 2020 International Information and engineering Technology Association. Pavement Distress Recognition (PDR) is an important step in pavement inspection and can be powered by image-based automation to expedite the process and reduce labor costs. Pavement images are often in high-resolution with a low ratio of distressed to non-distressed areas. Advanced approaches leverage these properties via dividing images into patches and explore discriminative features in the scale space. However, these approaches usually suffer from information loss during image resizing and low efficiency due to complex learning frameworks. In this paper, we propose a novel and efficient method for PDR. A light network named the Kernel Inversed Pyramidal Resizing Network (KIPRN) is introduced for image resizing, and can be flexibly plugged into the image classification network as a pre-network to exploit resolution and scale information. In KIPRN, pyramidal convolution and kernel inversed convolution are specifically designed to mine discriminative information across different feature granularities and scales. The mined information is passed along to the resized images to yield an informative image pyramid to assist the image classification network for PDR. We applied our method to three well-known Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), and conducted an evaluation on a large-scale pavement image dataset named CQU-BPDD. Extensive results demonstrate that KIPRN can generally improve the pavement distress recognition of these CNN models and show that the simple combination of KIPRN and EfficientNetB3 significantly outperforms the state-of-the-art patch-based method in both performance and efficiency. © 2022, CC BY-NC-SA.

This paper presents a hybrid method using a Gaitset network for gait recognition. We firstly use Alphpose model to obtain key points of human posture to improve the extraction of human contour under body occlusion. The human contour map is obtained by pose2Seg model with the key points of human posture. Both human posture and body contour are used as input of the network. By using the hybrid method, it can effectively improve the accuracy and robustness of gait recognition with the upper body information under occlusion. In scenes of human walking under body occlusion, our experimental results show that the accuracy of the proposed method in self-built database can reach 84.6% accuracy.

The mean shift image segmentation algorithm is very computationintensive. To address the need to deal with a large number of remotesensing (RS) image segmentations in real-world applications, this studyhas investigated the parallelization of the mean shift algorithm on asingle graphics processing unit (GPU) and a task-scheduling methodwith message passing interface (MPI)+OpenCL programming model on aGPU cluster platform. This paper presents the test results of the parallelmean shift image segmentation algorithm on Shelob, a GPU clusterplatform at Louisiana State University, with different datasets andparameters. The experimental results show that the proposed parallelalgorithm can achieve good speedups with different configurations andRS data and can provide an effective solution for RS image processingon a GPU cluster.

Achieving high efficiency and low efficiency roll-off simultaneously is of great significance for further application of thermally activated delayed fluorescent (TADF) emitters. A balance between radiative decay and reversed intersystem crossing must be carefully established. Herein, we propose a qunolino-acridine (QAc) donor composing two acridine with both planar (pAc) and bended (bAc) geometries. Combining with triazine, a TADF emitter QAc-TRZ is assembled. The pAc provides a well interaction with triazine which ensures a decent TADF behavior, while the bAc offers a delocalization of highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) which guarantees an enhancement of radiative decay. Remarkably, QAc-TRZ enables a highly efficient organic light emitting diode (OLED) with maximum external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 37.3 %. More importantly, the efficiencies under 100/1000 cd m −2 stay 36.3 % and 31.7 %, respectively, and remain 21.5 % even under 10 000 cd m −2 .

Bug reports are widely used by developers to fix bugs. Due to the lack of experience, reporters may submit numerous invalid bug reports. Manually determining valid bug reports is a laborious task. Automatically identifying valid bug reports can save time and effort for bug analysis. In this paper, we propose a deep learning-based approach to determine and explain valid bug reports using only textual information i.e., summaries and descriptions of bug reports. Convolutional neural network (CNN) is applied to capture their contextual and semantic features. Moreover, by analyzing the spatial structure of CNN, we backtrack the trained CNN model to get phrases that can explain valid bug reports determination. After inspecting the phrases manually, we summarize some valid bug report patterns. We evaluate our approach on five large-scale open-source projects containing a total of 540491 bug reports. On average, across the five projects, our approach achieves 0.85, 0.80, 0.69 and improves the state-of-the-art approach by 8.97%, 9.59%, 9.52% in terms of AUC, F1-score for valid bug reports, and F1-score for invalid bug reports, respectively. From the summarized patterns, we can find that determining valid bug reports is mainly due to three categories of patterns: Attachment, Environment, and Reproduce.

The performances of modern distributed stream processing systems are critically affected by the distribution of the load across workers. Skewed data streams in real world are very common and pose a great challenge to these systems, especially for stateful applications. Key splitting, which allows a single key to be routed to multiple workers, is a great idea to achieve good balance of load in the cluster. However, it comes with the cost of increased memory consumption and computation overhead as well as network communication. In this paper, we present a new definition of metric to model the cost of key splitting for intra-operator parallelism in stream processing systems and provide a novel perspective to reduce replication factor while keeping both overall load imbalance and processing latency low. Similar to previous work, our approach treats the head and the tail of the distribution differently in order to reduce memory requirements. For the head, it uses our proposed notion of regional load imbalance to decide dynamically whether to make one more worker responsible for the heavy hitter or not. For the tail, it simply uses hash partitioning to keep the size of the routing table for the head as small as possible. Extensive experimental evaluation demonstrates that our approach provides superior performance compared to the state-of-the-art partitioning algorithms in terms of load imbalance, replication factor and latency over different levels of skewed stream distributions. © 2019 IEEE.
