Drivers can classify today's driving into two main types of experiences, manual and automatic. A manual vehicle gives the driver power to choose whatever gear they want, while an automatic vehicle chooses the bicycle gears for the driver's convenience. It applies not only to automobiles but also to bicycles as well. This study aims to create an electronic transmission system for bikes using an Arduino as its brain and a motor to control its transmission. It will give the riders the freedom to choose the gears they want to use while automatically selecting bicycle gears for their convenience. In this study, the researchers have created an electronic transmission system for the bicycle with both manual and automatic modes. The transmission accuracy was measured and compared to calculated data by conducting actual ride tests on the device. Overall, the system produced outstanding results with 98% accuracy using a simple statistical analysis method. The device works just like it was programmed using Arduino, and it should improve the quality and safety of riding the bike compared to conventional bike shifters. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

A novel AES–DES with improved Cheetah optimisation algorithm for secured medical data transmission in cloud environment

In recent years, transmitting medical data has been a regular process. Although strong, safe, and dependable encryption techniques are necessary for medical data, cryptography is largely a computational process. The research presents a selective encryption approach for the transfer of sensitive data. This study proposes a novel technique for selecting the optimal keys to offer more security to medical data. Initially, the medical data is encrypted using the hybrid AES–DES technique. To make an efficient encryption method, the most optimal keys are selected utilising an improved Cheetah optimisation algorithm (ICO). Finally, the keys are optimised, and the input medical data is safely kept in the cloud system according to the established model. As a result, the proposed approach utilises the Python tool to evaluate the results. The simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms others in terms of encryption time 96 s, decryption time 92 s, memory usage (16), and latency (0.006). © 2024 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Prenatal depression,which can affect pregnant women’s physical and psychological health and cause postpartum depression,is increasing ***,it is essential to detect prenatal depression early and conduct an attribution *** studies have used questionnaires to screen for prenatal depression,but the existing methods lack *** diagnose the early signs of prenatal depression and identify the key factors that may lead to prenatal depression from questionnaires,we present the semantically enhanced option embedding(SEOE)model to represent questionnaire *** can quantitatively determine the relationship and patterns between options and *** first quantifies options and resorts them,gathering options with little difference,since Word2Vec is highly dependent on *** resort task is transformed into an optimization problem involving the traveling salesman ***,all questionnaire samples are used to train the options’vector using ***,an LSTM and GRU fused model incorporating the cycle learning rate is constructed to detect whether a pregnant woman is suffering from *** verify the model,we compare it with other deep learning and traditional machine learning *** experiment results show that our proposed model can accurately identify pregnant women with depression and reach an F1 score of *** most relevant factors of depression found by SEOE are also verified in the *** addition,our model is of low computational complexity and strong generalization,which can be widely applied to other questionnaire analyses of psychiatric disorders.

Enhancing Searchable Symmetric Encryption Performance through Optimal Locality

Both individuals and institutions place great importance on maintaining the security and privacy of their data, when stored in the cloud server. To achieve this, they often turn to searchable symmetric encryption (SSE), which is considered a crucial technology for safeguarding user data. However, SSE has encountered some challenges, particularly in the case of large databases. One such issue is poor performance, which can be attributed to poor locality. This means that the cloud server must visit a large number of locations during the search process, resulting in slow retrieval times. The main problem however, is not just poor locality. In many cases, optimization methods intended to improve performance can actually lead to increased storage requirements for the encrypted index stored on the cloud server or reduced efficiency when reading data. These issues must be addressed in order for SSE to continue to be an effective tool for protecting sensitive information. In this paper, we introduce a secure and searchable scheme that effectively addresses the issues mentioned above, while also enhancing the performance of information retrieval through an improved encrypted inverted index storage mechanism. Our scheme achieves optimal locality at 0(1), and read efficiency at 0(1), thereby significantly increasing the speed of retrieval. Through experimentation with real-world data, we have demonstrated the practicality, accuracy, and security of our approach, making it a reliable solution for secure and efficient information retrieval. © 2025 Slovene Society Informatika. In 2023,pivotal advancements in artificial intelligence(AI)have significantly *** that in mind,traditional methodologies,notably the p-y approach,have struggled to accurately model the complex,nonlinear soil-structure interactions of laterally loaded large-diameter drilled *** study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of machine learning(ML)and deep learning(DL)techniques,offering a comprehensive review of their application in addressing this geotechnical challenge.A thorough review and comparative analysis have been carried out to investigate various AI models such as artificial neural networks(ANNs),relevance vector machines(RVMs),and least squares support vector machines(LSSVMs).It was found that despite ML approaches outperforming classic methods in predicting the lateral behavior of piles,their‘black box'nature and reliance only on a data-driven approach made their results showcase statistical robustness rather than clear geotechnical insights,a fact underscored by the mathematical equations derived from these ***,the research identified a gap in the availability of drilled shaft datasets,limiting the extendibility of current findings to large-diameter *** extensive dataset,compiled from a series of lateral loading tests on free-head drilled shaft with varying properties and geometries,was introduced to bridge this *** paper concluded with a direction for future research,proposes the integration of physics-informed neural networks(PINNs),combining data-driven models with fundamental geotechnical principles to improve both the interpretability and predictive accuracy of AI applications in geotechnical engineering,marking a novel contribution to the field.

Solar power generation forecasting plays a vital role in optimizing grid management and stability, particularly in renewable energy-integrated power systems. This research paper presents a comprehensive study on solar power generation forecasting, evaluating traditional and advanced machine learning methods, including ARIMA, Exponential Smoothing, Support Vector Regression, Random Forest, Gradient Boosting, and Physics-based Models. Moreover, we propose an innovative Enhanced Artificial Neural Network (ANN) model, which incorporates Weather Modulation and Leveraging Prior Forecasts to enhance prediction accuracy. The proposed model is evaluated using real-world solar power generation data, and the results demonstrate its superior performance compared to traditional methods and other machine learning approaches. The Enhanced ANN model achieves an impressive Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.116 and a Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 36.26%. The integration of Weather Modulation allows the model to adapt to changing weather conditions, ensuring reliable forecasts even during adverse scenarios. Leveraging Prior Forecasts enables the model to capture short-term trends, reducing forecasting errors arising from abrupt weather changes. The proposed Enhanced ANN model showcases its potential as a promising tool for precise and reliable solar power generation forecasting, contributing to the efficient integration of solar energy into the power grid and advancing sustainable energy practices. © 2024 – IOS Press.

As Internet of Things (IoT) devices leads an significant challenges in securing the systems from cyber-attacks in large-scale IoT networks. Traditional methods faces struggle to precisely detecting the complex intrusion patterns due to the heterogeneity and distributed IoT devices. There is a pressing need for scalable, real-time, and privacy-preserving solutions to secure IoT and IIoT systems. For multi-class intrusion detection in IoT networks, this study proposed an novel hybrid convolutional recurrent neural network (CRNN) model based on federated learning. By integrating federated learning, the proposed approach ensures privacy by enabling decentralized model training among IoT devices without exchanging sensitive data. The hybrid CRNN model improves detection accuracy for a variety of attack types in IoT networks by combining Recurrent Neural Networks for sequential pattern recognition and Convolutional Neural Networks for feature extraction from raw data. The proposed model classifies incoming network traffic into different attack classes. The experimental results conducted on the Edge-IIoT dataset reveal that the proposed model has attained the detection accuracy of 98.93% with balanced precision and recall for all the attack types and low-support classes such as SQL Injection and Man-in-the-Middle. This balance improves model’s ability to reduce both false negatives and false positives compared with conventional approaches. Together with real-time detection, our approach excels in a privacy-preserving manner, providing a practical, scalable solution for securing complex IoT networks, and addressing critical gaps in current IDS frameworks. © The Author(s) 2025.

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs) continue to have a negative impact on global health, which highlights the need for accurate and efficient prediction methods. Machine learning (ML) techniques as tools for forecasting CVD has recently showed potential. This paper presents a comprehensive analysis of research trends in the field, focusing on visualizing the impact of ML in cardiovascular disease prediction. We used data visualization techniques to identify patterns and trends in an extensive database of scholarly publications on this subject that were published in Scopus between 1991 and 2023. The analysis reveals a substantial growth in research output, demonstrating the growing demand for ML-based CVD prediction. It reveals essential stakeholders and potential collaborators while highlighting the institutions and authors who have contributed most to this domain. The study also identifies high-impact journals that have published significant research in this domain, facilitating researchers in selecting appropriate outlets for dissemination. The study helps researchers identify the most critical areas for further research and fosters cooperation among subject-matter experts by offering insightful information about machine learning-based cardiovascular disease prediction development. Stacked autoencoder with weighted loss function for intrusion detection in IoT application

The fast increase of network traffic in recent times causes significant detection of intrusions in Internet of Things (IoT) environments. Currently, Deep Learning (DL) models play a crucial role in cyber security for malicious identification and intrusion detection in IoT networks. The existing methods have drawbacks like overfitting, data imbalance, and not completely capturing complex dependencies and relationships among input and features that are significant for intrusion detection. To overcome these limitations, Stacked Autoencoder (SAE) with weighted loss function is proposed for effective Intrusion Detection System (IDS). The SAE includes weighted loss function to minimize the overfitting issue and finally, the One Class-Support Vector Machine (OCSVM) is used in the classification layer to classify the intrusions. The database used for intrusion detection in IoT environment are Bot-IoT and ToN-IoT databases, which undergo pre-processing by using standard scalar and min–max normalization to remove duplicates and inconsistent data in the databases. Then, the optimal features are selected by using firefly optimizer which selects active features values for classification. In the resulting phase, the stacked autoencoder obtains 99.99%, and 99.70% of classification accuracy on the Bot-IoT and ToN-IoT databases, respectively, which are superior while compared to the traditional autoencoder model. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.
