Sustainable manufacturing is urgently required nowadays, more than ever before, to overcome current challenges in climate changes, depleting natural resources and polluting environment. Based on the Qatar National Vision 2030 (QNV 2030) and the third Qatari National Development Strategy (2023–2027), converting industrial solid waste in Qatar into value-added products is an important target which should be implemented to ensure sustainable consumption and production patterns as set by the United Nations, in the global goal: SDG 12. Away from dumping in landfills, preserving value of waste and byproduct in Qatari industries is an ideal approach to maximize economic gain, keep clean environment, optimize sustainability and reduce carbon footprint. Upgrading existing industrial procedures and increasing recycling rate should be considered for the production of new or improved quality products. Marble mining and processing generate around 200 million tons of waste per year worldwide. Quarrying, cutting, sawing, sizing, carving and polishing marbles produce aqueous slurry, sludge, powder or dust wastes from marble materials. These wastes lead to destructive irreversible impacts on ecological systems, the environment, and public health, particularly when they are discharged arbitrarily to the environment or even dumped into the landfills. Converting waste marble powder into alternative marketable products at a lower cost or better performance compared to that for the current existing products will promote sustainable economic growth and development. Marble waste can be used in different applications such as asphalt, road construction, gypsum plaster, cement, aggregates, concrete, mortar, brick making and other building materials. In a crowd density estimation dataset,the annotation of crowd locations is an extremely laborious task,and they are not taken into the evaluation *** this paper,we aim to reduce the annotation cost of crowd datasets,and propose a crowd density estimation method based on weakly-supervised learning,in the absence of crowd position supervision information,which directly reduces the number of crowds by using the number of pedestrians in the image as the supervised *** this purpose,we design a new training method,which exploits the correlation between global and local image features by incremental learning to train the ***,we design a parent-child network(PC-Net)focusing on the global and local image respectively,and propose a linear feature calibration structure to train the PC-Net simultaneously,and the child network learns feature transfer factors and feature bias weights,and uses the transfer factors and bias weights to linearly feature calibrate the features extracted from the Parent network,to improve the convergence of the network by using local features hidden in the crowd *** addition,we use the pyramid vision transformer as the backbone of the PC-Net to extract crowd features at different levels,and design a global-local feature loss function(L2).We combine it with a crowd counting loss(LC)to enhance the sensitivity of the network to crowd features during the training process,which effectively improves the accuracy of crowd density *** experimental results show that the PC-Net significantly reduces the gap between fullysupervised and weakly-supervised crowd density estimation,and outperforms the comparison methods on five datasets of Shanghai Tech Part A,ShanghaiTech Part B,UCF_CC_50,UCF_QNRF and JHU-CROWD++.

A hydrogen spillover-bridged water dissociation/hydrogen formation could concurrently promote Volmer/Tafel process and improve the efficiency of hydrogen evolution reaction(HER)under alkaline ***,it is still challenging to promote occurrence of hydrogen spillover for the large interfacial transport barriers of H_(2)O and hydrogen on active ***,the strategy of energy barrier gradient to induce hydrogen spillover was proposed by constructing Ru nanoclusters coupled with single atom onto oxygen vacancy cerium dioxide(Ru/CeO_(2)-Ov-2).Density functional theory(DFT)calculations uncover that the adsorption/desorption of H2O occurs at the Ru clusters sites and then the dissociated H*spontaneously overflows from Ru clusters with high binding energy into the adjacent Ru single atom sites with low binding energy,which facilitate the hydrogen ***,the synthesized Ru/CeO_(2)-Ov-2 exhibits a small overpotential of 41 mV at 10 mA cm^(-2)and good stability at 500 mA cm^(-2)for 100 h in alkaline seawater,which could be ascribed to the rapid hydrogen spillover and strong coupling interaction between Ru and CeO_(2)-O_(v).This work provides a novel insight that synthesizing cooperative sites with energy barrier gradient helps to promote hydrogen spillover and accelerate the Volmer/Tafel process of HER.

The lignite-derived carbon from self-protection pyrolysis was employed to balance the fracturing and cold-welding of magnesium during ball *** size analysis indicates that the introduction of lignite-derived carbon can effectively reduce the particle size of Mg while the introduction of graphite does no ***,the effect of lignite-derived carbon on crystallite size reduction of Mg is also better than graphite.A moderate cold-welding phenomenon was observed after ball-milling Mg with the lignite-derived carbon,suggesting less Mg is wasted on the milling vials and *** dynamic simulations reveal that the balanced fracturing and cold-welding of magnesium during ball milling is mainly attributed to the special structure of the lignite-derived carbon:graphitized short-range ordered stacking function as dry lubricant and irregular shape/sharp edge function as milling *** preliminary findings in current study are expected to offer implications for designing efficient Mg-based hydrogen storage materials.
