With the development of underwater acoustic communications (UWAC), jamming methods for UWAC becomes much more attentive in communication countermeasure system. Direct sequence spread spectrum (DSSS) signal as a way of reliable covert communications is widely used for UWA channels. In this paper, single-tone jamming, narrowband jamming and correlated jamming based on PN code PSK modulation for UWA DSSS communication system are compared under different signal-to-noise ratio first, which assumes that the jammer knows perfect parameters in DSSS signal. Besides, performance of the above three jamming methods are compared by simulations under the blind estimates of carrier frequency, chip length, period of PN code and PN code itself, which demonstrates the influence of the estimation error on these jamming methods.

A new mathematical model for COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS is considered to assess the impact of COVID-19 on HIV dynamics and vice-versa. Investigating the epidemiologic synergy between COVID-19 and HIV is important. The dynamics of the full model is driven by that of its sub-models;therefore, basic analysis of the two sub-models;HIV-only and COVID-19 only is carried out. The basic reproduction number is computed and used to prove local and global asymptotic stability of the sub-models’ disease-free and endemic equilibria. Using the fmincon function in the Optimization Toolbox of MATLAB, the model is fitted to real COVID-19 data set from South Africa. The impact of intervention measures, namely, COVID-19 and HIV prevention interventions and COVID-19 treatment are incorporated into the model using time-dependent controls. It is observed that HIV prevention measures can significantly reduce the burden of co-infections with COVID-19, while effective treatment of COVID-19 could reduce co-infections with opportunistic infections such as HIV/AIDS. In particular, the COVID-19 only prevention strategy averted about 10,500 new co-infection cases, with similar number also averted by the HIV-only prevention control. © 2022 The Author(s)

The main objective of this study is to design an Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System (ANFIS) algorithm to solve the problem of finding the inverse kinematics to control the movement of the modified PUMA 560 arm in robotic *** and stability are two major issues that face designers when control system design is intended. Tuning the system to coup with the variations and changes in the environment where the system is expected to work. In this paper the mechanical design of modified PUMA 560 robotic arm with 6 DoF was revisited and implemented with new powerful features and the experimental results were tracked. The main problem is the dynamic equations which are nonlinear and time-varying in the extreme. The challenge was how to manipulate these equations in such a way leading to a better performance regarding accuracy and stability of the system. The method used to control the base of robot arm which consists of 3-wheels with 120 degrees apart was designed and implemented. After that accurate trajectory control methods which use Adaptive Neuro Fuzzy Inference System of 3-wheels omni-directional mobile robot were implemented. Thus the design of full new robot system structure was used in the validation and testing the performance of proposed methods. This included modification of the PUMA 560 arm by the addition of an omini-directinal wheeled mobile robot (OWMR) base structure to the robotic arm. This base consisted of three motors for 3-wheels which are positioned 120 degrees apart. The resulting robot was a modified PUMA 560 robotic arm with 6 axes. The results obtained showed a significant improvement in both accuracy and stability of the system proposed. Hence, objectives were met to a great extent.

Aiming at effectively identifyingthe different particle sizes of single particlesof the same kind and eliminating the interference of redundant and noise components in the light scatteringsignals, this paper puts forward a single particle size detection method by processing the light scatteringsignalsof particleswith blind source *** shown in the test results, the research object, a single-spherical PTFEpellet(4μm in particle size), contains noise and redundant angular intensity scattering signals. The scattering signals are decomposed into by empirical mode 8 components, which respectively serve as the virtual multi-source signals for blind source *** redundant noises in different channels are removed by the ICA algorithm to produce the noiseless and non-redundant light scattering signals. Such signals bear the information on the type of particles, and provide a reliable signal source for further, accurate measurement of particle size. It is demonstrated in the simulation experiment and the engineering example that the blind source separation method not only applies to identification of signal source, but also reduces the noise, improves the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the signal, and suppresses the interference in the light scattering signals from redundant and nose components.

DC motors have been employed in domestic and industrial works owing to their tendency of developing a constant torque over wide speed applications. A typical Dc motor has characterizing parameters like inertia of the rotor, friction damping coefficient, winding resistances and inductances. The objective of a controller is to maintain the same speed with a step change in the excitation. Conventionally, Proportional Integral Derivative (PID) controller is widely used in controlling the speed of DC motor. With the use of fractional order calculus in synthesizing fractional order PID (FOPID) controller the quality of the controller and the output is increased. This paper synthesizes a new form of FOPID controller namely complex fractional order PID (CFOPID) through Genetic Algorithm.

This paper proposes a ranging-based positioning method independent of environmental factors and compensation coefficients. This method uses the normalized RSSI and distance model to shield the influence of parameters A and n, and then compare the normalized algorithm with the fingerprint algorithm and Min-Max algorithm, the result proves the effectiveness and advancement of the proposed algorithm.

In this paper, we address the event-triggered state estimation problem for a class of time-varying complex networks subject to multiplicative noises and stochastic coupling under uncertain occurrence probability. The stochastic coupling is modeled by introducing a set of Bernoulli distributed random variables, where the uncertainties of the occurrence probability is characterized. Moreover, the event-triggered mechanism is employed with hope to reduce the network burden and save energy consumption. The aim of the paper is to design the robust state estimator for addressed dynamics networks and derive an optimized upper bound of the estimation error covariance by properly choosing the estimator gain. Finally, simulations and comparisons are provided to verify the validity of the proposed robust state estimation method.

Community detection plays an important role in social networks, since it can help to naturally divide the network into smaller parts so as to simplify network analysis. However, on the other hand, it arises the concern that individual information may be over-mined, and the concept community deception has been proposed to protect individual privacy on social networks. Here, we introduce and formalize the problem of community detection attack and develop efficient strategies to attack community detection algorithms by rewiring a small number of connections, leading to privacy protection. In particular, we first give two heuristic attack strategies, i.e., Community Detection Attack (CDA) and Degree Based Attack (DBA), as baselines, utilizing the information of detected community structure and node degree, respectively. And then we propose an attack strategy called "Genetic Algorithm (GA) based Q-Attack", where the modularity Q is used to design the fitness function. We launch community detection attack based on the above three strategies against six community detection algorithms on several social networks. By comparison, our Q-Attack method achieves much better attack effects than CDA and DBA, in terms of the larger reduction of both modularity Q and Normalized Mutual Information (NMI). Besides, we further take transferability tests and find that adversarial networks obtained by Q-Attack on a specific community detection algorithm also show considerable attack effects while generalized to other algorithms. Robots have become an integral part in industry as well as domestic use. The future of mankind cannot be seen without robots. Artificial Intelligence is core of any autonomous robot, and it should be capable to recognize an object or human by the vision provided to it. Representations of an object or human are complex functions and various algorithms are being implemented to analyze these complex functions. This review paper is a survey of different conventional techniques used to detect an object in an image. The paper commences with basics of image processing algorithms for object detection and summarizes the findings based on the research and experimental results of different researchers.
