A cloud-based collaborative manufacturing resource sharing services

The spring up of cloud computing gives product manufacturing a new solution and chance to realize resource sharing and cooperative work between enterprises for global manufacturing. A collaborative manufacturing resource sharing platform is built based on cloud services, which implements to effectively describe information, resources and knowledge during manufacturing process by abundant semantics. The cloud services are the combination of cloud computing and ontology technique. Cloud computing utilizes virtualization technology to encapsulate collaborative manufacturing resources as services to shield the distribution of collaborative manufacturing. The cloud service integration model is built based on ontology technique. The cloud service integration model implements the uniform representation of heterogeneous information and helps to shield the heterogeneity of manufacturing resources systematically. Finally, a case study of the whole design of a decelerator is presented to validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the approach. © 2012 Asian Network for Scientific Information.

Multiple watermarking for image authentication based on visual perception information

In this paper, we proposed a novel multiple watermarking scheme, in which a robust watermark and a semi fragile watermark were simultaneously embedded for the image authentication. On one hand, a robust watermark carrying visual perception characteristics was embedded into the low -frequency band of wavelet for image authentication. On the other hand, a semi-fragile watermark containing a significant two value image was embedded into the Intermediate frequency of wavelet for tamper location. If image restoration was needed, we could also repair the image in some extent according to perception information carried by robust watermark. The experimental results show that our robust watermark algorithm was robust to the normal image operation (geometric transformation, wave filtering and compression with loss for example). And our semi-fragile watermark was only sensitive with malicious operation whose value was higher than the threshold value, in the same time it could make the tamper localization within the range of certain precision. In addition, Visual perceptual information was set as image authentication standard in our scheme, the experimental results proved that it was much better than previous ones whose standard was the variation of data bit of the image, and this advantage also assured our algorithm flexible application in practice.

With the development of fast integer pel motion estimation algorithm and the decreasing of integer motion search points, computational load of fractional pel motion estimation becomes more and more comparable to that of integer case. Based on the analysis and research on those proposed fast fractional pel motion estimation algorithms, a fast fractional pel motion estimation algorithm was proposed in this paper. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can reduce the H.264/AVC encoder's computational complexity of the fractional pel motion estimation remarkably while incurring little, if any, loss in quality. © 2012 IEEE.

In this paper, a combined fuzzy logic and unsymmetric trimmed median filter approach is proposed to remove the high density salt and pepper noise in gray scale and colour images. This algorithm is a combination of decision based unsymmetrical trimmed median filter and fuzzy thresholding technique to preserve edges and fine details in an image. The decision based unsymmetric trimmed median filter fails if all the elements in the selected window are 0's or 255's. One of the possible solutions is to replace the processing pixel by the mean value of the elements in the window. This will lead to blurring of the edges and fine details in the image. To preserve the edges and fine details, the combined fuzzy logic and unsymmetric trimmed median filter approach is proposed in this paper. The better performance of the proposed algorithm is demonstrated on the basis of PSNR and IEF values.

High density impulse noise removal using modified switching bilateral filter

In this paper, we propose a modified switching bilateral filter to remove impulse noise and enhance the image details in an image. The proposed filter consists of noise detection stage and noise reduction stage. The noise detection is based on the gray level Lmin, Lmax]. The noise reduction is based on the global trimmed mean with modified switching bilateral filter. This modified switching bilateral filter effectively removes the salt and pepper noise at very high noise density. Simulation results show that our proposed filter achieves high peak signal to noise ratio, Image Enhancement factor and correlation factor. Even though the time complexity of proposed filter is greater than the other impulse noise filters, the performance of the proposed filter with respect to noise removal is better than the existing filters.

In order to resolve the detection problem of coal mine gas content detection, and ensure the personal safety under the ground, we design the gas content detection system which based on the technology of ZigBee. The system includes two functional models, which are ZigBee and gas sensor. We can control the system functional model by computer net, which can realize the radio transmit by use of ZigBee technology. It can real-time work, and the precise high, transmit far away. The system hardware is simple, operate easily, cost cheap, which can be used in coal mine and safety detection. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2012.

Time frequency analysis for action conversion characteristics of surface electromyography signals

The electromyography (EMG) pattern recognition and classification of intentional movements for control of multifunctional prostheses have adopted steady state data. Actually, most of human body's movements are continuous, so the action conversion points are determined for continuous movements of human hand in this study. Ten healthy adults (5 men and 5 women;25±3 year) participated in the EMG signals measurement experiments. Surface EMG signals were obtained from flexors carpi of forearm. Four singles and two continuous actions are designed in this experiment. The short-time energy time frequency analysis is employed to determine action conversion points. In the experiment, subjects do not need to train. The result suggests that the short-time energy time frequency analysis is suitable for determination of continuous action conversion points. This method is promising and simple, and it is expected to be employed in identification of continuous hand actions. © 2012 ICIC International.

Complex curve surfaces 3D measuring device based on gray code value stereo matching

Three-Dimensional (3D) surface measuring, as an important procedure of reverse engineering, is being causing concerns interests by more and more researcher. In this paper, a 3D measuring device for complex curve surfaces based on Gray coded Structured Light (SL) and stereo vision was designed. The measuring model was built based on the measuring principle. And the Gray decoding value of each sample point is the stereo matching element. After errors analyzing, the error of image coordinate extracting is determined as the largest error source for measuring result. The results of experiments show that this design is feasible, and the acquirement of the 3D data of complex curve surfaces is achieved. The reconstruct surface is similar in the visual effects, and the reconstruction surface could be display smoothly and detail.

With emerging trend in technology wireless networks allow user to travel from one location to another. Mobile Adhoc network (MANET) is one of the subareas of wireless network that dynamically form infrastructure less temporary network. MANET is a collection of intercommunicating mobile nodes forming a temporary network without any centralized administration. Due to the dynamic property of mobile nodes in MANET, they require good routing protocol. This paper analyzes the effect of random based mobility models on the performance of Proactive Routing Protocol (DSDV-Destination Sequence Distance Vector) and Reactive Routing Protocol (AODV- on Demand Distance Vector, DSR- Dynamic Source Routing). Performance analysis is done with respect to end-to-end delay, throughput and Packet delivery ratio for varying node densities.
