Accurate measurement of the power consumed by the distorted signals has been focused on in recent years due to its practical utilities. In this work, a mathematical description of powers is deducted in the condition of distorted signals according to a simplified model of the electrical network. Then, a rational measuring method of the electric energy for distorted signals is proposed on the basis of the analysis of the power flow. Also, the wavelet sub-band measuring method was employed for measuring the electric energy in the condition of unsteady distorted signals. Experimental results demonstrate that, by using the simulated typical distorted signals, the proposed measurement method can produce extremely accurate results compared to theoretical results.

This paper introduces a novel approach of watermarking for copyright protection applications using the singular value decomposition (SVD) in the dual tree complex wavelet transform (DT-CWT) domain. After applying the 2-level DT-CWT to the cover grayscale image, we apply the SVD to each high-pass subband obtained. The singular values in each subband are then modified by the singular values of the DT-CWT-transformed visual watermark. Modification in all subbands allows the development of a watermarking scheme that is robust to a wide range of attacks. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed watermarking scheme is highly robust to various attacks.

In this paper, a blind audio watermarking scheme using stereo signals is proposed. In the proposed scheme, each bit of watermark bit stream is embedded into ldquonon-silentrdquo samples of stereo audio signals. The watermark bits can be embedded by replacing least significant bit or bits in higher bit layers of original signal samples. Robustness and performance of this audio watermarking scheme under different types of attacks, such as addition of noise, MP3 compression and re-sampling are investigated. Watermark extraction rates are calculated. Different audio signals including music, speech are used for the experiments. It is found that the proposed audio watermarking scheme, compared with the use of single channel signals, is much more robust against addition of white noise.

During production or commercialization of fine iron powder, water content is the most important parameter for evaluating and controlling the fine iron powder properties. In order to improve the portability, operability, and speed of the water determination and to reduce testing cost, a new method to quickly detect the water content in fine iron powder using capacitance type sensor is put forward. The basic principle and characteristics of this measuring tech.ique are examined. Structure and testing circuit for the capacity sensor are designed with parameters optimized through experimental research. A mathematical model to correlate water content to the capacitance is proposed. The present work had laid the foundation for developing an utility-type fast detecting device for water content in fine iron powder which can be adopted in real-time monitoring for processing or trading of fine iron powder.

The essay introduced a color trapezoidal phase-shifting coding method to get the projecting angle of three-dimensional measurement system. In this method firstly use a color trapezoidal phase-shifting pattern, ensure that the intensity-ratio of sampling points changes periodically in the range of [0, 6], and then map the location of the intensity ratio in the space of intensity ratio linearly to the space of projecting angle. After continuous division of the projection angle, determine the projecting angle of the sampling points, and finally realize three-dimensional measurement based on the principle of triangulation. This article gives an explicit introduction of the coding and decoding principles of color trapezoidal phase-shifting as well as the testing experiment. The result of the experiment shows that the measurement error is less than 0.6898 mm; the measurement Standard deviation is less than 0.4099 mm.

An 3D measurement scheme by combining Gray code with Trapezoidal phase-shift is presented. The scheme computes the relative intensity ratios in a Trapezoidal phase-shift period using Trapezoidal phase-shift pattern. Combining the Trapezoidal phase-shift with Gray code corresponding to sampling point, and the absolute intensity ratio of sampling point is determined. Then, 3D measurement is realized using projection geometry matrix model. Encoding and decoding principles by combining Gray code with Trapezoidal phase-shift are presented;period dislocation between Gray code and Trapezoidal phase-shift in course of decoding is analyzed, which could be corrected by judging the consistency between Gray code value increasing and phase mutation of adjacent pixels. Finally, simulation and real system were experimented. The experimental results indicate that relative measurement error of simulation system is about 0.0325% and that of real system is less than 4.0329%.

During the last years the method of the Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy has been intensively developed. It is the most powerful electrochemical method, because of it unique ability to investigate the structure and the properties of the objects in a wide frequency range. The Capacitive Impedance Spectroscopy (CIS) is of special interest. The further development of this principle is given in the current work. It gives an opportunity to investigate the electric properties of different kinds of materials. A special measuring system is developed for this purpose. A modern computer tech.iques with a special data analyze software is also described.

One kind of combustible gas alarms based on industrial Ethernet was designed to prevent the gas leakage in industrial production sites, The alarm adopted the high performance microprocessor LPC2214 as the main chip. The embedded operating system μC/OS-Ⅱand TCP/IP protocol stack uIP running on LPC2214 constitute a development platform of application of the combustible gas alarm, The test shows that it can automatically and continuously detect combustible gas in industrial production sites in several positions;it can give out sound-light alarm and take protective measures immediately against the gas leakage; and it can send the detected data to PC through the Ethernet interface to realize the remote detection. The designed project provides a reference to design industrial devices based on industrial Ethernet

Since there are a lot of exclusive OR operations in Boolean difference algorithm, especially in solving high-order difference equation, a kind of test generation simplified method with constraint conditions is proposed. By analyzing the Boolean difference algorithm,the result obtained was that Boolean functionchanges with variables, so Boolean difference equations can be expressed into identity. To make faults propagate to output, the constraint conditions should be put, so test patterns can be obtained only by solving the identity and constraint conditions without exclusive OR operations in this algorithm. By examples, it has been proved that simplified algorithm is correct and simple, and it is verified that test patterns can detect given faults by VB (Visual Basic) simulation.

Novel frequency offset estimation algorithm for OFDM systems

A new frequency offset estimation algorithm for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems was proposed by using a specially designed training symbol. Requiring only one training symbol, this algorithm can efficiently estimate integer frequency offset and fraction frequency offset. The timing synchronization can also be obtained by using the proposed training symbol. Simulation results show that the proposed method not only reduces the number of the training symbols but also improves the accuracy of frequency offset estimation, while comparing with conventional algorithms.
