Localization is one of the most important issues in wireless sensor networks, especially for the applications requiring the accurate position of the sensed information. As one of the well known range-free localization algorithms DV-Hop can be simply implemented in real wireless sensor networks without any range measurement tools, but it has bad localization accuracy in asymmetry distributed wireless sensor networks. Thereby, a novel algorithm DDV-Hop based on differential knowledge is proposed in this paper for asymmetry distributed wireless sensor networks. In the research, the differential knowledge is used to improve the average hop-size which is applied by each locating node for estimating itself location through weighting the N received average hop-sizes from anchor nodes. The simulation results show that under the same conditions, this algorithm compared to DV-Hop algorithm and Hop-count method algorithm has higher localization accuracy.

In this paper, we define the fitting energy by a new kernel function, which is to do in the range of an image what traditional filters do a small neighborhood of the same location. We combine the advantages of the LBF model and our model by taking domain and range kernel functions into account. The new level set method with domain and range kernel functions has been tested and assessed on different modalities of medical images. Experiments prove our simulation results demonstrate that our model has better segmentation results compared with the LBF model.

A geometric model for the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) is proposed in which horizontal maneuvers are made only by changing speed while keeping the flight direction constant. The calculating formulae for projected horizontal miss distance (HMD) and reserved time (Tau) to the closest point of approach are derived from the model according to the Galilean principle of relativity. The closed-form solution is presented to predict the separation to be achieved with a horizontal collision avoidance maneuver. The influence of speed change time and autopilot’s response delay on the horizontal miss distance and reserved time are also calculated and analyzed. The simulation results indicate that the algorithm for conflict detection and resolution in the horizontal plane can predict not only the horizontal separation at the closest point of approach, but also the reserved time to get to the closest point of approach.
