In response to the imperative need for carbon reduction, tracking the carbon footprint of power systems has emerged as a critical concern. Traditional methods have struggled to accurately capture the nuances of carbon emissions, necessitating a fresh approach. To address this gap, the study introduces a pioneering deep learning-based model. We contend that the rapid advancement of deep learning offers a solution by harnessing neural network models, particularly the temporal convolutional networks (TCN) and gated recurrent units (GRU). These models are adept at handling the intricate patterns and dependencies inherent in carbon emission data, which exhibit both short-term fluctuations and long-term trends. Sequel to that, we propose a novel TCN-GRU-ATT neural network model designed explicitly for carbon footprint data. This innovative model combines TCN, GRU, and attention mechanisms to comprehensively capture both short-term variations and long-term dependencies within carbon emission patterns. Using power generation data from a gas-fired unit within the power grid as a foundation, the model calculates carbon emissions across various time intervals. Results demonstrate the model's exceptional performance, with a low Mean Absolute Percentage Error (MAPE) of 1.7123%, a Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 8.8436 kg/CO2, and a high Coefficient of Determination R 2 of 0.9802.

With the extensive development of nuclear energy, soil uranium contamination has become an increasingly prominent problem. The development of evaluation systems for various uranium contamination levels and soil microhabitats is critical. In this study, the effects of uranium contamination on the carbon source metabolic capacity and microbial community structure of soil microbial communities were investigated using Biolog microplate technology and high-throughput sequencing, and the responses of soil biochemical properties to uranium were also analyzed. Then, ten key biological indicators as reliable input variables, including arylsulfatase, biomass nitrogen, metabolic entropy, microbial entropy, Simpson, Shannon, McIntosh, Nocardioides, Lysobacter, and Mycoleptodisus, were screened by random forest (RF), Boruta, and grey relational analysis (GRA). The optimal uranium-contaminated soil microbiological evaluation model was obtained by comparing the performance of three evaluation methods: partial least squares regression (PLS), support vector regression (SVR), and improved particle algorithm (IPSO-SVR). Consequently, partial least squares regression (PLS) has a higher R2 (0.932) and a lower RMSE value (0.214) compared to the other. This research provides a new evaluation method to describe the relationship between soil ecological effects and biological indicators under nuclear contamination. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature 2024.

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau contains the most abundant clean energy such as hydropower, wind and solar in the world. However, it is very difficult to add overhead transmission lines on the ground due to the complex geographical environment. The large-capacity tunnel cables which is less affected by the earth surface environment, may play an important role on the energy transmission in such area. Based on the cable thermal circuit model, the electrical-magnetic-thermal multiphysics coupling of the cable is modeled in COMSOL Multiphysics. The parameter changes of the material during the temperature rising process, the influence of different ventilation conditions and different current-carrying capacities on the changes of the cable temperature field are quantitatively analyzed. The results show that the proposed model is valid in certain conditions. The research on the current carrying capacity and thermal effect of tunnel cables is of great significance for the transportation and consumption of large-scale clean energy resources. © 2022 IEEE.

DNA methylation is one of the earliest known modification pathways, and it regulates gene expression, which in turn influences many biological processes. Direct, label-free detection of DNA methylation with high sensitivity remains a great challenge. Surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS), a non-invasive and label-free vibration spectroscopy technique, offers sensitive intrinsic chemical information that makes it an attractive option for DNA analysis. In this study, we employed iodide-modified silver nanoparticles to generate highly consistent SERS signals of DNA at micromolar concentrations in aqueous solutions. This enabled the acquisition of single-base sensitive DNA fingerprint details pertaining to base methylations (such as 5-methylcytosine). As a proof of concept, the SER spectra of a DNA and its methylated counterpart were compared and analyzed, resulting in an obvious identification of DNA methylation. In particular, we first designed two DNA sequences, the sole change being that one of the nucleotides, cytosine, is replaced with a 5-methylcytosine. Further SERS experimental study revealed that methylating a single cytosine in the DNA strand caused a subtle but evident alteration in the SERS spectrum. A new Raman peak emerged at 760 cm-1, the Raman peak at 792 cm-1 moved to 790 cm-1, and there was a noticeable drop in the peak intensity ratio between 1572 cm-1 and 1634 cm-1. This approach may provide a novel and easy-to-use tool for the label-free identification of single-molecule DNA mutations or modifications, furthering the advancement of ultra-sensitive genomic research in the future. © 2024 SPIE. This paper presents a Lyapunov matrix-based guaranteed cost dynamic positioning controller for unmanned marine vehicles (UMVs) with time delays. A novel Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional (LKF) is introduced, which enhances the analysis of time delays and system states. The controller design leverages the LMI framework alongside Jensen's inequality to determine sufficient criteria for its feasibility, ensuring that the UMV s' state errors gradually reduce to zero and providing an adaptive H∞ performance guarantee. Additionally, the cost function is upperbounded, and the effectiveness of the method is demonstrated through simulation results. © 2024 IEEE.

The oxide dispersion strengthening(ODS)high entropy alloy(HEA)exhibits the high elevated temperature performance and radiation resistance due to severe atomic lattice distortion and oxide particles dispersed in matrix,which is expected to become the most promising structural material in the next generation of nuclear energy ***,microstructure and damage evolution of irradiated ODS HEA under loading remain elusive at submicron scale using the existing simulations owing to a lack of atomic-lattice-distortion information from a micromechanics ***,the random field theory informed discrete dislocation dynamics simulations based on the results of high-resolution transmission electron microscopy are developed to study the dislocation behavior and damage evolution in ODS HEA considering the influence of severe lattice distortion and nanoscale oxide ***,the damage behavior shows an unusual trend of the decreasing-to-increasing transition with the continuous loading *** are two main types of damage micromechanics generated in irradiated ODS HEA:the dislocation loop damage in which the damage is controlled by irradiation-induced dislocation loops and their evolution,the strain localization damage in which the damage comes from the dislocation multiplication in the local plastic *** oxide particle hinders the dislocation movement in the main slip plane,and the lattice distortion induces the dislocation sliding to the secondary slip plane,which promotes the dislocation cross-slip and dislocation loop annihilation,and thus reduces the material damage in the elastic damage *** findings can deeply understand atomic-scale damage mechanism and guide the design of ODS HEA with high radiation resistance.

Automatic fruit detection has greatly reduced labor costs and crop damage rates, contributing to the progress of agricultural modernization. It involves real-time assessment of the surrounding environment and recognition of target fruit categories. However, fruit detection faces challenges due to the similarities in shape, color, and other features among different types of fruits, as well as the impact of environmental factors such as inadequate lighting, occlusion, and background variations on recognition accuracy. This project focuses on the simulation of the robotic fruit harvesting process, which includes environmental image acquisition, image processing, and robot control. The robot utilizes its integrated camera to capture real-time images of the surrounding environment. These images are then processed on a computer, employing color recognition based on traditional algorithms. The images are segmented based on the identified color regions and subjected to object detection using YOLO v5. By discerning the presence of the target objects, the results are transmitted to the robot, which responds accordingly. The real-time performance is enhanced by filtering and narrowing down the target regions, reducing the time required for object recognition.

Aerosol optical depth(AOD)and fine particulate matter with a diameter of less than or equal to 2.5μm(PM_(2.5))play crucial roles in air quality,human health,and climate ***,the complex correlation of AOD–PM_(2.5)and the limitations of existing algorithms pose a significant challenge in realizing the accurate joint retrieval of these two parameters at the same *** this point,a multi-task learning(MTL)model,which enables the joint retrieval of PM_(2.5)concentration and AOD,is proposed and applied on the top-of-the-atmosphere reflectance data gathered by the Fengyun-4A Advanced Geosynchronous Radiation Imager(FY-4A AGRI),and compared to that of two single-task learning models—namely,Random Forest(RF)and Deep Neural Network(DNN).Specifically,MTL achieves a coefficient of determination(R^(2))of 0.88 and a root-mean-square error(RMSE)of 0.10 in AOD *** comparison to RF,the R^(2)increases by 0.04,the RMSE decreases by 0.02,and the percentage of retrieval results falling within the expected error range(Within-EE)rises by 5.55%.The R^(2)and RMSE of PM_(2.5)retrieval by MTL are 0.84 and 13.76μg m~(-3)*** with RF,the R^(2)increases by 0.06,the RMSE decreases by 4.55μg m~(-3),and the Within-EE increases by 7.28%.Additionally,compared to DNN,MTL shows an increase of 0.01 in R^(2)and a decrease of 0.02 in RMSE in AOD retrieval,with a corresponding increase of 2.89%in *** PM_(2.5)retrieval,MTL exhibits an increase of 0.05 in R^(2),a decrease of 1.76μg m~(-3)in RMSE,and an increase of 6.83%in *** evaluation suggests that MTL is able to provide simultaneously improved AOD and PM_(2.5)retrievals,demonstrating a significant advantage in efficiently capturing the spatial distribution of PM_(2.5)concentration and AOD.

This paper focuses on the event-triggered consensus problem of nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) via a fully distributed control scheme. Firstly, a nonlinear full-dimensional state observer is established to estimate the state of each agent according to the measurement of the system output. Then, an observer-based adaptive consensus protocol is proposed by utilizing only the neighboring state information, where the global topology of the MASs communication network is no longer required. In addition, a dynamic event-triggered transmission scheme is presented to further reduce the communication load in the MASs network. Furthermore, the consensus of MASs can be ensured by solving two linear matrix inequalities and the gain matrices of observer and controller are obtained. Finally, a simulation test is provided to verify the feasibility and performance of the proposed control methods. © 2023 Technical Committee on Control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.
