Abstract - Timbre morphing is a signal processing technology that involves the use of an interpolation algorithm to gradually change the timbre of one instrument into that of another. However, the prepared target audio, which possesses the same music content (such as score and rhythm) as the original audio, is essential to the input used in the morphing technique. To meet the application requirements of non-parallel and many-to-one processing, we combined the signal processing technology of spectral feature interpolation with the deep learning technology of the autoencoder to provide the timbre morphing technology with a generalization ability. The complex framework, which focuses on the processing of harmonic information, is built using the pitch tracking, temporal signal processing, decoder, source-filter modeling, and spectral feature interpolation. Notably, unlike the neural vocoder that is commonly used in voice conversion, the decoder, which is trained using a data reconstruction method, is used to map the input audio features to the harmonic amplitude distribution with the target timbre. Experiments were conducted in which the clarinet timbre was morphed into a trumpet. An evaluation of the spectral features demonstrated the validity of the morphing technology. © 2021 IEEE.

High Efficiency Wiener Filter-based Point Cloud Quality Enhancement for MPEG G-PCC

Point clouds, which directly record the geometry and attributes of scenes or objects by a large number of points, are widely used in various applications such as virtual reality and immersive communication. However, due to the huge data volume and unstructured geometry, efficient compression of point clouds is very crucial. The Moving Picture Expert Group is establishing a geometry-based point cloud compression (G-PCC) standard for both static and dynamic point clouds in recent years. Although lossy compression of G-PCC can achieve a very high compression ratio, the reconstruction quality is relatively low, especially at low bitrates. To mitigate this problem, we propose a high efficiency Wiener filter that can be integrated into the encoder and decoder pipeline of G-PCC to improve the reconstruction quality as well as the rate-distortion performance for dynamic point clouds. Specifically, we first propose a basic Wiener filter, and then improve it by introducing coefficients inheritance and variance-based point classification for the Luma component. Besides, to reduce the complexity of the nearest neighbor search during the application of the Wiener filter, we also propose a Morton code-based fast nearest neighbor search algorithm for efficient calculation of filter coefficients. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method can achieve average Bjøntegaard delta rates of -6.1%, -7.3%, and -8.0% for Luma, Chroma Cb, and Chroma Cr components, respectively, under the condition of lossless-geometry-lossy-attributes configuration compared to the latest G-PCC encoding platform (i.e., geometry-based solid content test model version 7.0 release candidate 2) by consuming affordable computational complexity. © 2025 IEEE. The timbre attributes are affected by multiple factors such as the time domain, frequency domain, time-frequency domain, and harmonic structure of the sound signal, and there is a certain degree of correlation and redundancy among the objective acoustic parameters. Analyzing the perception of the objective acoustic parameters of the timbre Attributes is of great significance to the study of timbre perception. In order to achieve the above goals, this paper constructs a timbre database of Chinese and Western musical monophonic instruments, and extracts 45 timbre objective acoustic parameters based on this database. through factor analysis of these acoustic parameters, it shows that the Information of 45 timbre objective acoustic parameters can be condensed into 6 factors, and each factor has a clear timbre perception attribute. Based on this result, we use the multi-dimensional scale analysis method to verify the six factors, and the verification results are basically consistent with the factor analysis results. The 6 factors constructed can explain the time-frequency domain distribution, structure and energy distribution of acoustic parameters, and provide a theoretical basis for constructing an interpretable model based on audio objective acoustic parameters. © 2021 IEEE.

In order to realize a multi-channel exhalation detection device with large dynamic range and high precision, a well designed signal processing and sampling circuit is essential for gas sensors. In this paper, a particular circuit is designed to meet above requirement. The proposed circuit uses a constant current source to achieve linear transformation of resistance value and output voltage, and uses a voltage follower for impedance transformation to minimize the impact of the AD acquisition on the front-end circuit. Since the gas sensor can be regarded as a variable resistor, the proposed circuit is tested with variable resistors varying from 10kΩ to 50MΩ, over three orders of magnitude. In order to increase the sensitivity of the gas sensors, it is need to heat the sensor. Then a multi-channel heating circuit is designed with independent adjustable heating current in each channel, which can be controlled with multi-channel PWM signal from the MCU. With simulation and experiment, the performance of the proposed circuit has been verified to be excellent. Furthermore, the circuit has the advantage of being used in various fields. © 2023 IEEE.

In view of the problem that the dry ice effect simulation on the stage simulation is less, a dry ice effect simulation system including the realistic rendering module of dry ice effect and the interaction module between actors and the dry ice is proposed. For visual effect of dry ice, this paper uses a method to simulate volume fog in real time by adding visual optimization of multiple noise mixtures. Firstly, in order to solve the problem that the modeling effect of single noise fog is not natural, the Perlin noise and Worley noise are used to model the fog together to enhance the detail and flip effect of fog. Secondly, using the offset shadow algorithm to simulate the self-shadow effect, combining pixel jitter and Temporal oversampling, the soft effect of fog is increased, and the distance field shadow is added to reflect the occlusion. For dry ice interaction module, this paper uses symbol distance field to detect the collision between dry ice and actors to realize the dynamic interaction between actors and dry ice. The results show that this method can simulate the dry ice effect of stage and has the function of real-time interaction. © 2021 IEEE.

With the rapid development of new energy technology, it has become a trend to combine wind and solar power generation into the smart grid. In this paper, wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation are introduced into the smart grid, and taking into account the consumption capacity of consumers at different levels, a tiered pricing scheme considering the uncertainty of wind and solar energy is proposed. Firstly, we establish probability density functions of power generation for wind power generation and photovoltaic power generation respectively to express the uncertainty of wind energy and solar energy. To meet the energy demand of consumers at all levels, we present the energy demand model of consumers after considering their electricity demand and temperature influence. Then, we formulate the optimal pricing problem for the electricity market under the framework of tiered pricing, so as to make the energy market get satisfactory income while meeting the energy demand of consumers. Finally, we use the particle swarm optimization algorithm to determine the optimal pricing strategy of the energy market. The simulation results show that when meeting the energy demand of consumers in different temperature conditions, the optimal pricing can be found that meets the satisfactory income of the energy market.

In order to more accurately describe the load changes in the power system and establish a suitable load model, a probabilistic statistical model of desk load based on improved cluster analysis and nonparametric kernel density estimation is proposed. Firstly, the shortcomings of ISODATA clustering algorithm are analyzed, based on which this algorithm is improved by optimizing the selection of initial clustering centers to enhance the effect of clustering and accelerate the convergence speed of the algorithm, and the improved algorithm is used to cluster the power users and analyze the characteristics of electricity consumption of different users. Then, the probability distributions of different loads in each quarter are calculated by using non-parametric kernel density estimation method, and their probability density curves are extracted. Combined with the actual analysis of the load data of a number of users in a station area, compared with the traditional clustering algorithm in terms of clustering effect, the results verified the superiority of the algorithm proposed in this paper and the application value of the proposed model.

In order to solve the problem of fast switching of special equipment in the cultural complex, the improved Moth-Flame Optimization algorithm (MFO) is combined with the improved Dynamic Window Approach (DWA) to realize the hybrid path planning of handling robots in different scenarios of cultural complexes in this paper. Specifically, the traditional Moth-Flame Optimization algorithm is improved and applied to the global path planning problem. On the basis of the planned global path, the intersection of dynamic obstacles with the global path is detected, and the improved Dynamic Window Approach is used for local obstacle avoidance in the section with collision risk, finally, the hybrid path planning in the complex environment of the cultural complex is realized. The simulation experimental results prove the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.

Murals are an important part of China’s cultural heritage. Because of their age, Dunhuang murals have suffered from discoloration, fading and damage. With the development of computer image restoration technology, digital image processing provides strong support for mural restoration. Although there are many research results in the field of ancient mural images, there is no pre-trained model based on ancient mural images available for migration. There is a method for Dunhuang murals image restoration based on Generative Adversarial Network (GAN) with improved ResNet50 structure as an encoder in the generator. This research result proposes a generative adversarial network model with a parallel double convolutional extraction of deep features for the generator, combined with a ternary heterogeneous joint discriminator. On this basis, this paper proposes a binary classification task to distinguish ancient mural images from modern natural style images, so that the model pre-learns features such as color, texture, and structure of mural images, which are inputted into the restoration network as a priori information, in order to achieve the effect of reducing the probability of incomplete restoration of the model, and better generalization ability. The experimental results show that the method proposed in this paper has an overall improvement in the evaluation indexes such as Peak Signal to Noise Ratio(PSNR) and Structural Similarities(SSIM) when compared with other methods, and the restored images are more in line with human subjective vision, which proves the validity of the method.

The increasing use of modular multilevel converters (MMCs) raises system stability concerns, such as instability in a wide frequency range. Accurate stability analysis of such systems thus is urgently demanded. In this regard, the small signal modeling of the system can be described by a set of linear time- periodic (LTP) differential equations involving time delays, which requires much more effort. A generalization of the ordinary differential equation (ODE)-based harmonic state space (HSS) framework to delayed differential equations (DDEs), HSS-DDE for short, has been proposed to tackle time delays and periodicity within a unified framework. However, the authors found in practical application that this model produces erroneous results when the time delay involved is not an integer multiple of the period. Therefore, this paper first intensively analyzes the limitations of the HSS-DDE model, and then introduces the time-periodic infinitesimal generator and partial discretization idea to reconstruct an improved model that is not affect by the relationship between time delays and period. Thus, the stability of delayed periodic systems can be readily studied. The results of a numerical example and the grid-connected MMC system verify the accuracy and validity of the proposed model.
