This paper presents the use of information technology and power line poles in the organization known as Provincial Electricity Authority (PEA), where there are two different applications are described. Firstly, the multi-channel communication (MCC) using both wire and wireless communication media for PEA organization image development is discussed. Secondly, the use of closed circuit television (CCTV) that they can be installed into the street lamps on the power line poles throughout the nation for homeland security is proposed and discussed in details.

The rapid development of internet usage has paved the way towards the use of online shopping. In this paper an investigation has been made on the behavior of Indian consumers towards online shopping using Functional link artificial neural network (FLANN) and the result is compared with that obtained from the conventional statistical based approach, discriminant analysis. The simulation study reveals that the FLANN based model provides improved classification of consumers compared to the conventional statistical based approach.

Effects of fly ash and ground granulated blast-furnace slag (GGBFS) on workability, strength, volume stability and durability of HSC are investigated. Results show that fly ash and GGBFS can improve the workability, increase the later strength of high strength concrete (HSC) remarkably, and reduce the brittleness. In addition, the ameliorative effect of GGBFS on HSC brittleness is more remarkable. With the increase of fly ash and GGBFS, the early elastic modulus of HSC reduces. The elastic modulus is similar to the controlled sample when the load is applied after 60d curing. The fly ash and GGBFS can improve HSC's resistance to chloride ion penetration significantly. However, the effects of fly ash and GGBFS on freezing-hawing resistance of HSC are not obvious. Besides, the fly ash will reduce freezing-hawing resistance of HSC only when the content of mineral powder is up to 36%.

The workability, strength and modulus of elasticity, drying shrinkage and creep, and chloride ion permeability as well as freeze-thaw resistance of the C60 high Performance concretes (HPCs) with manufactured sand (MS) containing crushed limestone dust in percents ranging from 3.5%) to 14%) were experimentally investigated. The results were compared with those of river sand (RS) concrete. In addition, the effect of clay amounts at 3% and 5% in MS on properties of C60 HPCs was also investigated. The results showed that expect for the creep, the other performances of C60 MS-HPCs with crushed limestone dust content of 7% to 10.5% were excellent or compared favorably with those of C60 RS-HPCs. The increment of clay content in MS obviously decreased workability, increased dry shrinkage and accelerated freeze-thaw destruction of C60 MS-HPCs, but didn't affecting compressive strength and chloride ion permeability of the concrete. It was concluded that C60 HPC can be made with MS with a high content of crushed limestone dust but the amount of clay in MS should be controlled to a low limit.

Two studies investigated the advantage and instructional effectiveness of the spatial graphic representation of an English sentence with coordinators over a linear sentential representation in English as a foreign language (EFL) reading settings. Experiment 1, Study 1, examined whether readers studying EFL could better comprehend the sentence—in which multiple information items are connected by coordinating conjunctions—when provided with a spatial representation than when provided with a sentential representation. Experiment 2 of Study 1 examined whether the advantage observed in Experiment 1 was due to Larkin and Simon's (1987) computational efficacy by testing whether two different task-completion times would affect the performance of two different display groups. Study 2 examined the effectiveness of the instruction manual, which we compiled, in enabling students to rearrange a linear text with coordinating conjunctions into a spatial display for self-study. The results indicated that the spatial graphic display enhanced EFL readers' comprehension of sentences with coordinators more than the sentential display did, and EFL readers were able to accurately rearrange a linear sentential text into a spatial display by using the instruction manual.

A novel optoelectronic oscillator (OEO) based on dual-lasers is demonstrated in this paper. The oscillator takes advantage of the dual optical fiber loops with different mode separations,which induces the gain competition and leads to high side-mode suppressed ratio (SMSR). Besides,the OEO can also suppress the random interference and the beating noise when single laser source is used. Finally,the results are as follows:the operating frequency is 4.998 GHz,the phase noise is 113 dBc/Hz at 10 kHz,the SMSR is more than 60 dB,and the time jitter is 289 fs.

Abstract In this article, the editors of the recent National research Council report Learning science in Informal Environments: People, Places, and Pursuits discuss the report’s implications for museum professionals. The report is a synthesis of some 2,000 studies and evaluations of learning in non‐school settings such as museums. Here we focus on three specific topics discussed in the full report, which we see as particularly important for museum professionals. These are: a framework for developing and studying science learning experiences; cultural diversity as an integral resource for learning; and assessment of learning. Many museums include “learning” among their goals and many researchers concern themselves with how museums and other settings can be organized to support learning. Yet this wealth of research is rarely brought into focus and offered as guidance to the museum community.
