Nowadays, medical image fusion plays a crucial role in enhancing the diagnosis accuracy and the clinical decision-making process in various healthcare applications. This research work presents a comprehensive study of the design and implementation of optimized medical image fusion techniques using a combination of software and Field-Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) technologies. The proposed medical image fusion strategy is based on the utilization of Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and Modified Central Force Optimization (MCFO). The implementation of the proposed technique as well as the traditional medical image fusion techniques is considered using an appropriate software design and FPGA. The presented techniques aim to overcome the limitations of traditional fusion techniques by integrating advanced image processing algorithms, optimization algorithms, and parallel computing capabilities offered by FPGA platforms. The first step in the proposed framework is to match the histogram of one of the images with that of the other, so that both images will have the same dynamic range. After that, the DWT is used to decompose the images that should be fused together. Based on some constraints, the MCFO optimization algorithm is used to evaluate the optimum level of decomposition and the optimum parameters for the best fusion quality. Finally, to improve the obtained visual quality and reinforce the information in the fusion result, an additional contrast enhancement step using adaptive histogram equalization is applied to the fusion result. Comparative study between the proposed optimized DWT-based fusion framework, the traditional Principal Component Analysis (PCA), Additive Wavelet Transform (AWT), and DWT-based fusion techniques is presented. Heads-up computing aims to provide synergistic digital assistance that minimally interferes with users' on-the-go daily activities. Currently, the input modalities of heads-up computing are mainly voice and finger gestures. In this work, we propose and evaluate the AmplitudeArrow (AA) technique designed for on-the-go AR menu selection to demonstrate that consecutive simple head gestures can also be an effective input modality for heads-up computing. Specifically, AA arranges menu icons into one/two row(s). To select a target icon, the user first makes their head yaw to pre-select the target icon or the column containing it and then makes their head pitch to make the arrow in the target icon expand until the arrow covers the target icon completely, i.e., the pitch amplitude surpasses the selection confirmation threshold. This research discusses the method of dataset collection automatization for microwave filter synthesis by integrating machine learning techniques, thus reducing development time. Utilizing the 3D electromagnetic analysis software package, the study involves simulation and collecting geometric parameters and amplitude-frequency characteristics from three variants of passband highly selective microstrip tworesonator combined filters with stepped impedance resonators. In this paper, specific items and restrictions on filter topology creation in the simulation program are discussed, as well the review of the script used for dataset collection and its requirements is given. Wireless Capsule Endoscopy (WCE) emerged as an innovative and patient-centric approach for non-invasive and painless examination of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. It serves as a pivotal tool in helping medical practitioners in the early detection of anomalies within the intricate domain of the human GI tract. The automated identification of aberrations assumes paramount significance, contributing not only to temporal efficiency but also to timely diagnosis. Within the realm of academic literature, a plethora of Artificial Intelligence (AI) methodologies have been proposed to effectuate the automatic classification, segmentation, and synthesis of anomalies inherent in WCE images. This scholarly endeavor undertakes a comprehensive and meticulous survey, elucidating the spectrum of anomaly classification, summarization, and detection techniques harnessed for computer-Aided Diagnosis (CAD) in the context of WCE images. The survey begins by delineating the methodologies underpinning WCE image classification and video processing. Subsequently, an exhaustive evaluation of techniques for analyzing WCE images is furnished, accompanied by an in-depth exploration of pertinent surveys, in addition to a judicious assessment of their merits and demerits. Furthermore, this study undertakes a rigorous evaluation of prevailing datasets utilized to benchmark the efficacy of various WCE techniques. A typical setup in many machine learning scenarios involves a server that holds a model and a user that possesses data, and the challenge is to perform inference while safeguarding the privacy of both parties. Private Inference has been extensively explored in recent years, mainly from a cryptographic standpoint via techniques like homomorphic encryption and multiparty computation. These approaches often come with high computational overhead and may degrade the accuracy of the model. In our work, we take a different approach inspired by the Private Information Retrieval literature. We view private inference as the task of retrieving inner products of parameter vectors with the data, a fundamental operation in many machine learning models. We introduce schemes that enable such retrieval of inner products for models with quantized (i.e., restricted to a finite set) weights;such models are extensively used in practice due to a wide range of benefits. In addition, our schemes uncover a fundamental tradeoff between user and server privacy. Our information-theoretic approach is applicable to a wide range of problems and robust in privacy guarantees for both the user and the server. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

Improved channel estimation for underwater wireless optical communication OFDM systems by combining deep learning and machine learning models

Recent studies on channel estimation in wireless communication systems have focused on deep learning methods. Our primary contribution is based on the use of DenseNet121 hybrid with Random Forest (RF), Gated Recurrent Units (GRU), Long Short-Term Memory Networks (LSTM), and Recurrent Neural Networks (RNN) to improve the channel estimation and lower the error rate. In order to mitigate inter-symbol interference and map the datasets, this paper introduces M-quadrature amplitude modulation (16-QAM) and orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM), which is based on quadrature phase shift keying (QPSK). Additionally, the existence or lack of cyclic prefixes forms the basis of our simulation. Additionally, the suggested models are investigated using pilot samples 2, 4, 8, and 64. Labeled OFDM signal samples, where the labels match the signal received after applying OFDM and passing through the medium, are used to train the proposed models. The DenseNet121 functions as a powerful feature extractor to extract intricate spatial information from received signal data. Sequential models like as RNN, LSTM, and GRU are used to model temporal dependencies in the retrieved features. RF is also utilized to exploit non-linear relationships and interactions between features to further increase prediction accuracy and reduce bit error rate (BER). By comparing the models using key metrics like accuracy, bit error rate (BER), and mean squared error (MSE), superior performance is attained based on the DenseNet121_RNN_GRU_RF model. Additionally, the DLMs are assessed against traditional methods like minimal mean square error (MMSE) and least squares (LS). Using the DenseNet121_RNN_GRU_RF model indicates a considerable gain over alternative architectures, with an improvement of 36.3% over DensNet121-RNN-LSTM-RF, according to a comparison of the suggested models without cyclic prefix for OFDM_QPSK. Urban mobility faces growing challenges due to the inefficiencies of traditional public transportation systems, which rely on fixed schedules and routes. These systems struggle to meet dynamic passenger demands, resulting in overcrowding during peak times and underutilization during off-peak periods. Variable passenger demand frequently results in inefficiencies in public transportation networks, which create crowding during rush hours and underutilization during off-peak hours. The proposed system offers a Smart Ticket Scheduling System that uses real-time crowd data to dynamically schedule and distribute tickets in order to overcome these difficulties. Using sensors, cameras, and mobile network data, the system tracks the number of passengers at different locations by utilizing technologies like IoT, AI, and advanced analytics. By controlling ticket availability and managing passenger flow, this data ensures that commuters are distributed among buses and other public transportation options as efficiently as possible. Additionally, the technology modifies bus routes and schedules in real-time to meet changes in demand, which eases traffic and enhances the entire travel experience. © 2025 IEEE.

Robust Precoder Design for Massive MIMO High-Speed Railway communications With Matrix Manifold Optimization

In high-speed railway (HSR) communications, the channel suffers from severe Doppler and channel aging effects caused by the high mobility, making the channel outdated quickly. To address this issue, we investigate the robust precoder design against channel aging and prediction inaccuracy in massive multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) systems with matrix manifold optimization. First of all, we introduce the concept of the quadruple beams (QBs), and establish a QB based channel model with sampled quadruple steering vectors. Then, the upcoming space domain channel of interest can achieve a higher accuracy by channel prediction with the estimated QB domain channel. To further improve the performance while save the pilot overhead, we predict the forthcoming QB domain channel and integrate the prediction inaccuracy within the a posterior QB domain statistical channel model. Then, we consider the robust precoder design aiming to maximize the upper bound of the ergodic weighted sum-rate (WSR) on the Riemannian submanifold formed by the precoders satisfying the total power constraint (TPC). Riemannian ingredients are derived for matrix manifold optimization, with which the Riemannian conjugate gradient (RCG) method is proposed to solve the unconstrained problem on the manifold. The RCG method mainly involves the matrix multiplication and avoids the need of matrix inversion of the transmit antenna dimension. The simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed channel model and the superiority of the RCG method for robust precoder design against channel aging and prediction inaccuracy. © 2002-2012 IEEE.
