Decentralized online social networks such as Mastodon have emerged quickly during the past years, and offer unique opportunities to investigate user behavior, moderation strategies, and community evolution. However, their decentralized nature imposes challenges for data collection and preprocessing, particularly for obtaining a real-time snapshot in a timely manner. This paper introduces FediLive, a framework designed to rapidly collect and preprocess the live feeds from Mastodon, generate a comprehensive snapshot in real-time, including user-generated contents, interaction networks, and users' demographic attributes. Such a snapshot could further be leveraged for data analysis from different angles, leading to a deeper understanding of user activities on Mastodon. Using FediLive, we collected a 13-day snapshot of Mastodon, covering the publicly-visible activities of all Mastodon users. Our study demonstrates the usefulness of FediLive, and reveals its potential in facilitating data-driven analysis for decentralized online social networks.

The terahertz (THz) band radio access with larger available bandwidth is anticipated to provide higher capacities for next-generation wireless communication systems. However, higher path loss at THz frequencies significantly limits the wireless communication range. Massive multiple-input multiple-output (mMIMO) is an attractive technology to increase the Rayleigh distance by generating higher gain beams using low wavelength and highly directive antenna array aperture. In addition, both far-field and near-field components of the antenna system should be considered for modeling THz electromagnetic propagation, where the channel estimation for this environment becomes a challenging task. This paper proposes a novel channel estimation method using a real image denoising network (RIDNet) and orthogonal matching pursuit (OMP) for hybrid-field THz mMIMO channels, including far-field and near-field constituents. The simulation experiments are performed using the ray-tracing tool. The results demonstrate that the proposed RIDNet-based method consistently provides lower channel estimation errors than the conventional OMP algorithm for all signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) regions. The performance gap becomes higher at low SNR regimes. Furthermore, the results imply that the same error performance of the OMP can be achieved by the RIDNet-based method using a lower number of RF chains and pilot symbols.

The estimation of millimeter-wave (mmWave) massive multiple input multiple output (MIMO) channels becomes compelling when one-bit analog-to-digital converters (ADCs) are utilized. Furthermore, as the number of antenna increases, pilot overhead scales up to provide consistent channel estimation, eventually degrading spectral efficiency. This study presents a channel estimation approach that combines a conditional generative adversarial network (cGAN) with a novel blind denoising network with a sparse feature attention mechanism. Performance analysis and simulations show that using a cGAN fused with a feature attention-based denoising neural network significantly enhances the channel estimation performance while requiring less pilot transmission.

The significant area in varied image processing applications is medical image fusion. In recent years, more efforts, advancement has been made on expanding image fusion algorithms when there is a scarcity of benchmark and code library that can scale the state-of-the-art works. In this research, different image fusion algorithms are implemented on various medical images. A medical image fusion benchmark (MFB) that includes numerous evaluation metrics and fusion algorithms code library is exhibited. Furthermore, within the benchmark, inclusive experiments are also carried out to realize this performance, effective algorithms for powerful image fusion are distinguished by resolving quantitative and qualitative outcomes, and some observances on the states and future likelihoods of this field are granted. © 2021 IEEE.

Recently, medical image processing has become a hot area of research, especially with the rapid development in technology and instrumentation, and that's because of its effective role in the health sector. So that it becomes a very active research tool. This research introduces an image fusion algorithm that utilizes a deep learning model to produce only one medical fused image that includes all the traits from the medical source images. Firstly, the source images are separated into detailed content and base parts using the Gaussian and rolling guidance filters (RGF). Secondly, by the weighted averaging strategy, the base parts are fused. For the detail content, to quote traits of multi-layer which employ weighted average strategy to produce the fused detail content several candidates, the deep learning network is utilized. The max selection technique is employed to gain the last detailed content as soon as these candidates are gotten. Eventually, by uniting the fused detail and base layers, the fused image will be recreated. The experimental outcomes show that this algorithm can accomplish better results by comparing the other fusion methods in both thematic assessment and visual quality. © 2021 IEEE.

We model a compositionally graded heterostructure using the effective mass approach with a screened Coulomb potential. In this paper, we describe a frame-interleaving hardware architecture for a generalized node-based successive cancellation list (SCL) decoder. By efficiently reusing otherwise idle computational units, two independent frames can be decoded simultaneously, resulting in a significant throughput gain. Based on this new architecture, we also exploit graph ensembles to diversify the decoding, enhancing the error-correcting performance by 0.28 dB and reducing the worst-case latency for serial graph processing by over 32%. Implementation results show that the proposed SCL decoder with frame-interleaving architecture achieves a throughput of 7.15 Gbps and an area efficiency of 37.63 Gbps/mm 2 , which is 1.56× and 1.11× better than the state-of-the-art node-based SCL decoders.

Numerical association rule mining offers a very efficient way of mining association rules, where algorithms can operate directly with categorical and numerical attributes. These methods are suitable for mining different transaction databases, where data are entered sequentially. However, little attention has been paid to the time series numerical association rule mining, which offers a new technique for extracting association rules from time series data. This paper presents a new algorithmic method for time series numerical association rule mining and its application in smart agriculture. We offer a concept of a hardware environment for monitoring plant parameters and a novel data mining method with practical experiments. OSM2Net: A Robust Road Network Extraction Framework from Noisy Indoor Parking OpenStreetMap

Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) rely on high-precision road networks, which are particularly scarce in indoor parking. Existing methods depend on expensive hardware (e.g., LiDAR) or manual mapping, both of which are costly and inefficient. The rise of the Internet of Things (IoT) has enabled large-scale data collection and connectivity, offering new opportunities for automated road network extraction. OpenStreetMap (OSM), as a crowdsourced IoT-driven platform, provides multi-layer geospatial data, including the Road Network Layer (RNL), Lane Boundary Layer (LBL), and Turn Sign Layer (TSL). However, OSM data often suffers from incompleteness and noisy connectivity, affecting the continuity and accuracy of road networks. This paper introduces OSM2Net, a novel framework designed to extract road networks from individual layers and leverage multi-layer data to construct directed road networks. Specifically, OSM2Net rasterizes noisy OSM data into bitmaps for image processing and multi-layer fusion. By leveraging the topology relationship between lane boundaries and road networks, a Lane-Road Map Generator (LRMG) creates a simulated dataset for training. Then, utilizing the simulated dataset, a Lane2Net model is designed to extract road networks from sparse lane boundary images. The framework then vectorizes bitmaps into a lightweight, undirected road network and refines it into a directed network by extracting and matching turn sign information. Experimental results show that Lane2Net achieves Intersection over Union (IoU) of 93% and 92% using simulated and real-world datasets, respectively. Extensive experiments on real-world datasets confirm that OSM2Net delivers robust completeness and high-quality road network extraction. © 2014 IEEE.
