Aiming at the characteristics of strong constraints of multiple knapsack problem (MKP), a method based on multi-objective particle swarm optimization is proposed in this paper. We take constraint violation as an optimal objective to avoid the troublesome of dealing with unfeasible solutions unsatisfied constraints. For updating effectively the external archive, the degree of constraint violation and the crowding degree of non-dominated particle in Pareto front are taken as two criteria. To decrease the probability of algorithm converging to a pseudo Pareto front, a mutation operator is designed. The experimental results of solving a number of MKP instances demonstrate that the proposed algorithm performs better to the MKP instances with strong constraints.

The security issue of mobile robots has attracted considerable attention in recent years. In this paper, we propose an intelligent physical attack to trap mobile robots into a preset position by learning the obstacle-avoidance mechanism from external observation. The salient novelty of our work lies in revealing the possibility that physical-based attacks with intelligent and advanced design can present real threats, while without prior knowledge of the system dynamics or access to the internal system. This kind of attack cannot be handled by countermeasures in traditional cyberspace security. To practice, the cornerstone of the proposed attack is to actively explore the complex interaction characteristic of the victim robot with the environment, and learn the obstacle-avoidance knowledge exhibited in the limited observations of its behaviors. Then, we propose shortest-path and hands-off attack algorithms to find efficient attack paths from the tremendous motion space, achieving the driving-to-trap goal with low costs in terms of path length and activity period, respectively. The convergence of the algorithms is proved and the attack performance bounds are further derived. Extensive simulations and real-life experiments illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed attack, beckoning future investigation for the new physical threats and defense on robotic systems. The phenomenon of cracks on the surface of buildings is widespread. The existence of cracks affects the normal use of buildings, shortening the service life, seriously damaging the structure of buildings, resulting in safety accidents. Therefore, regular detection and reinforcement of cracks on the surface of buildings is a necessary link to ensure safety. At present, the detection of building surface cracks is mainly carried out by manpower with means of equipment assisted. However, there are some problems in manpower detection, such as high manpower consumption, low *** paper presents a method of detecting and inspecting cracks on building surface based on image processing technology in machine vision, which includes image gray transformation, image denoising etc. Curve fitting and least square method are used to obtain crack parameters, so as to improve the inspecting efficiency and realize the automation of building surface inspection. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Based on the coupling scattering mechanism between the ship and sea surface, a scattering signature modeling method of sea-surface target for bi-static imaging radar is proposed, considering the modulation effects of sea-surface forcing to ship targets. The bi-static scattering signature signal for sea-surface target is modeled, in conjunction with high frequency asymptotic techniques for electromagnetic (EM) scattering calculation, the multi-path EM scattering model, the time-evolving complex reflection coefficient model and the ship motion dynamics. The time-varying scattering signatures for a typical ship on time-evolving sea-surface are simulated and analyzed. © 2019 IEEE.

Real-time and accurate water supply forecast is crucial for water plant. However, most existing methods are likely affected by factors such as weather and holidays, which lead to a decline in the reliability of water supply prediction. In this paper, we address a generic artificial neural network, called Initialized Attention Residual Network (IARN), which is combined with an attention module and residual modules. Specifically, instead of continuing to use the recurrent neural network (RNN) in time-series tasks, we try to build a convolution neural network (CNN) to recede the disturb from other factors, relieve the limitation of memory size and get a more credible results. Our method achieves state-of-the-art performance on several datasets, in terms of accuracy, robustness and generalization ability. Copyright © 2019, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper proposes a new single-phase three-level inverter topology and describes the control method for the proposed inverter. The inverter contains a H-bridge inverter circuit and an auxiliary circuit. The auxiliary circuit enables H-bridge circuit to be operated in the mode of five kinds of voltage level with unipolar pulse width modulation (PWM) strategy. The operation principle of proposed inverter topology is analyzed in detail. The proposed inverter eliminates the problems of DC capacitors voltage unbalance without additional control. The control of inverter is simple and easy to implement. And it is suitable for small or medium power applications. In this paper, the proportional-resonant (PR) controller is used in the proposed inverter, the feasibility and the analysis of principle of the proposed inverter is verified by simulation. The results show that the proposed inverter can output currents of low total harmonic distortion and has higher efficiency than the H-bridge inverter.

Research of Unmanned Aerial Vehicle(UAV) formation is a hot spot in the field of UAV applications. Based on the fountain code, an encoding communication scheme using unequal level coding Lu by Transform(ULC-LT) code and stepwise unequal error protection Lu by Transform(SUEP-LT) code are proposed for the UAV formation communication. Simulation results reveal that the proposed coding scheme can reduce the decoding bit error rate and provide strong unequal error protection property across sources.

This letter considers optimizing user association in a heterogeneous network via utility maximization, which is a combinatorial optimization problem due to integer constraints. Different from existing solutions based on convex optimization, we alternatively propose a cross-entropy (CE)-based algorithm inspired by a sampling approach developed in machine learning. Adopting a probabilistic model, we first reformulate the original problem as a CE minimization problem which aims to learn the probability distribution of variables in the optimal association. An efficient solution by stochastic sampling is introduced to solve the learning problem. The integer constraint is directly handled by the proposed algorithm, which is robust to network deployment and algorithm parameter choices. Simulations verify that the proposed CE approach achieves near-optimal performance quite efficiently. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. All rights reserved.

This paper investigates the generalized projective synchronization scheme of a new fractional chaotic system, which can display a four-wing chaotic attractor when the order of system is in the range of 0.82 and ***, considering the situation with unknown parameters, an adaptive nonlinear controller is obtained for synchronization and parameters identification based on fractional-order Lyapunov stability theorem. The fractional-order adaptation law, which can update parameters estimation errors online, is derived to ensure the stability of synchronization error system. Numerical simulations are used to verify the results.

In order to improve the robustness of laser triangulation to detect the liquid level of silicon melt, this paper firstly proposes a method of calculating the laser spot coordinates based on the voting mechanism. The vote is taken according to the coordinates of small laser spots, which are formed by the effect of liquid surface fluctuation on the line laser in the liquid level measurement image. Secondly, the Kalman filter method is used to correct the liquid level measurement data and compensate the missing data. Then the linear conversion is performed to obtain the liquid level value. Finally, the experimental results show that this method can effectively improve the robustness of the liquid level measurement by the laser triangulation method, and avoid the generation of impulse noise. The introduction of the Kalman filter can accurately correct the level measurement data and compensate for missing data.
