In this paper, we show that depending on the sign of the electric charge Q, the charged AdS black hole (BH) possesses two alternative facets when the cosmological constant is identified to the thermodynamic pressure P. It is discovered that: 1) the equation of state of BH corresponds to Q > 0 and when Q changes from Q > 0 to Q WH (T) which releases in this process equals with minus sign the latent heat of BH, too;3) Finally, the probability of the quantum tunneling from the BH to the WH is obtained. We suggest the perspective of application of the results above to the AdS/CFT duality. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

The paper is devoted to two-phase flow simulations and investigates the ability of a diffusive interface Cahn-Hilliard Volume-of-Fluid model to capture the dynamics of the air-sea interface at geophysically relevant Reynolds numbers. It employs a hybrid filtered/averaging Improved Detached Eddy simulation method to model turbulence, and utilizes a continuum model to account for surface tension if the diffuse interface is under-resolved by the grid. A numerical wind-wave tank is introduced to limit computational costs and results obtained for two wind-wave conditions are analyzed in comparison to experimental data at matched Reynolds numbers. The focus of the comparison is on both time-averaged and wave-coherent quantities, and includes pressure, velocity as well as modeled and resolved Reynolds stresses. In general, numerical predictions agree well with the experimental measurements and reproduce many wave-dependent flow features. Reynolds stresses near the water surface are found to be especially important in modulating the critical layer height. It is concluded that the diffusive interface approach proves to be a promising method for future studies of air-sea interface dynamics in geophysically relevant flows. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. Metadata extraction from scholarly PDF documents is the fundamental work of publishing, archiving, digital library construction, bibliometrics, and scientific competitiveness analysis and evaluations. However, different scholarly PDF documents have different layout and document elements, which make it impossible to compare different extract approaches since testers use different source of test documents even if the documents are from the same journal or conference. Therefore, standard datasets based performance evaluation of various extraction approaches can setup a fair and reproducible comparison. In this paper we present a dataset, namely, PARDA(Pdf Analysis and Recognition DAtaset), for performance evaluation and analysis of scholarly documents, especially on metadata extraction, such as title, authors, affiliation, author-affiliation-email matching, year, date, etc. The dataset covers computer science, physics, life science, management, mathematics, and humanities from various publishers including ACM, IEEE, Springer, Elsevier, arXiv, etc. And each document has distinct layouts and appearance in terms of formatting of metadata. We also construct the ground truth metadata in Dublin Core XML format and BibTex format file associated this dataset. © 2019, ICST Institute for Computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering.

Edge computing is an emerging paradigm to meet the ever-increasing computation demands from pervasive devices such as sensors, actuators, and smart things. Though the edge devices can execute complex applications, it is necessary for some applications to migrate to centralized servers. By offloading the computation from the edge nodes to the edge servers or cloud servers, the quality of computation experience could be greatly improved. However, it may cause delay and increase network overheads, and energy consumption eventually. Therefore, an optimal offloading strategy should take into account what task should be offloaded, when to offload and where to offload to avoid the overheads. Thus, it is important to tradeoff between energy consumption, computation delay and throughput when the system makes the computation offloading to achieve high energy efficiency. In this paper, we conduct a survey of energy aware edge computing, including the existing work on computation offloading frameworks and strategies in edge computing. Specifically, we describe the strategies from the perspective of energy aware offloading, energy optimization offloading and offloading algorithms. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2019.

The meta-synthetic methodology is the scientific and effective way to solve the problems of the complicated large system. Through the meta-synthetic Hall, we combined the expert, repository, and simulation test together, building an environment to realize the Meta-Synthesis methodology. In this article, we put forward simulation architecture for the Meta-Synthesis Hall. With the architecture, we can build the simulation system and do experiment for the Hall, supporting expert discussion and repository accumulation. The explosive growth of massive data generation from Internet of Things in industrial, agricultural and scientific communities has led to a rapid increase in cloud data centers for data analytics. The ubiquitous and pervasive demand for near-data processing urges the edge computing paradigm in recent years. Edge computing is promising for less network backbone bandwidth usage and thus less data center side processing, as well as enhanced service responsiveness and data privacy protection. Computation offloading plays a crucial role in network packets transmission and system responsiveness through dynamic task partitioning between cloud data centers and edge servers and edge devices. In this paper a thorough literature review is conduct to reveal the state-of-the-art of computation offloading in edge computing. Various aspects of computation offloading, including energy consumption minimization, Quality of Services (QoS), and Quality of Experiences (QoE) are surveyed. Resource scheduling approaches, gaming and tradeoffing among system performance and system overheads for offloading decision making are also reviewed. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2019.

The explosive growth in cloud-based services, big data analytics, and artificial intelligence related services provisioning leads to the rapid growth of construction of large scale Internet data centers (IDCs). Modern IDCs are equipped with various sensors to monitor its healthy operation and maintenance states, such as temperature, thermal distribution, air flow, etc. However, fine-grained, single-node level and even mainboard level monitoring including server resource consumption and power consumption is still needed for more progressive resource multiplexing and job scheduling in IDCs. In this paper, we propose an edge computing platform for intelligent Internet data center operational monitoring, which integrates wireless sensors and on-board built-in sensors to sense and collect the data of data center operation and maintenance. The edge computing based solution reduces the latency for data transportation to central clouds and reduces the amount of data and enhances the real time resource capping decisions in data centers. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2019.

In this paper, a class of arbitrarily high-order linear momentum-preserving and energy-preserving schemes are proposed, respectively, for solving the regularized long-wave equation. For the momentum-preserving scheme, the key idea is based on the extrapolation/prediction-correction technique and the symplectic Runge-Kutta method in time, together with the standard Fourier pseudo-spectral method in space. We show that the scheme is linear, high-order, unconditionally stable and preserves the discrete momentum of the system. For the energy-preserving scheme, it is mainly based on the energy quadratization approach and the analogous linearized strategy used in the construction of the linear momentum-preserving scheme. The proposed scheme is linear, high-order and can preserve a discrete quadratic energy exactly. Numerical results are addressed to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the proposed scheme. We propose a theoretical model to elucidate intermolecular electrostatic interactions between a virus and a substrate. Our model treats the virus as a homogeneous particle having surface charge and the polymer fiber of the respirator as a charged plane. Electric potentials surrounding the virus and fiber are influenced by the surface charge distribution of the virus. We use Poisson-Boltzmann equations to calculate electric potentials. Then, Derjaguin’s approximation and a linear superposition of the potential function are extended to determine the electrostatic force. In this work, we apply this model for coronavirus or SARS-CoV-2 case and numerical results quantitatively agree with prior simulation. We find that the influence of fiber’s potential on the surface charge of the virus is important and is considered in interaction calculations to obtain better accuracy. The electrostatic interaction significantly decays with increasing separation distance, and this curve becomes steeper when adding more salt. Although the interaction force increases with heating, one can observe the repulsive-attractive transition when the environment is acidic. Copyright © 2021, The Authors. All rights reserved.

With the global climate change, the frequency and destructiveness of emergencies in the coastal areas worldwide have increased in recent years. The rapid response of the existing equipment and means is insufficient. It is urgent to improve response speed for marine research, disaster investigation, marine rescue, maritime surveillance and other maritime emergencies. With the development of high-speed civil aircraft technology, the high-speed UAV platform can form an unmanned emergency response system, taking advantage of fast arrival, wide coverage and flexibility. The simulation shows that the unmanned emergency system has outstanding advantages compared with the existing subsonic UAV, and can effectively execute emergency marine missions.
