A variable-length cross-packet hybrid automatic repeat request (VL-XP-HARQ) is proposed to accommodate ultrareliable low-latency communications (URLLC). The spectral efficiency (SE) is firstly derived in terms of the outage probabilities, with which the SE is proved to be upper bounded by the ergodic capacity (EC). Moreover, to facilitate the maximization of the SE, the asymptotic outage probability is obtained at high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), with which the SE is maximized by properly choosing the number of new information bits while guaranteeing outage requirement. By applying Dinkelbach's transform, the fractional objective function is transformed into a subtraction form, which can be decomposed into multiple sub-problems through alternating optimization. By noticing that the asymptotic outage probability is a convex function, each sub-problem can be easily relaxed to a convex problem by adopting successive convex approximation (SCA). Finally, numerical results are presented for verification. © 2024 IEEE.

The presence of foreign objects on transmission lines significantly impacts the safe operation of the power grid. These foreign objects on transmission lines pose challenges such as small target size, low resolution, and varying dimensions. To address this, this paper introduces a small object detection algorithm tailored for foreign objects on transmission lines. Our contributions encompass a small object detection strategy, introducing a specialized layer to enhance the detection of small targets. Additionally, we propose the SCFormer attention mechanism, which integrates both channel and spatial features to augment modeling capabilities. Furthermore, we integrate deeply separable convolution into the backbone network of the YOLOv8 model, resulting in notable improvements in efficiency and speed. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed approach accurately detects foreign objects on transmission lines, achieving a mAP val 0.5 accuracy of 99.5%. Compared to traditional object detection algorithms, our method strikes a balance between speed and accuracy, establishing itself as a state-of-the-art algorithm. © 2024 IEEE.

The proposed system integrates face recognition and Internet of Things (IoT) technology to revolutionize the hospitality industry. It uses OpenCV, a widely recognized computer vision library, to deliver smooth, contactless guest services and rigorous identification verification. This paper proposes a novel method to improve visitor experiences by removing check-in and allowing personalized services. The IoT -enabled face recognition system presented in this paper streamlines the visitor experiences. Facial biometrics eliminates the need for identity papers, making the check-in process simple. The proposed system, OpenCV, is used for face detection, identification, and verification. The system's design includes strategically positioned cameras for visitor identification and tracking. Health and safety are crucial, so this system's contactless nature is a major benefit. The solution also increases visitor safety by lowering the danger of fraud and illegal access. The IoT-enabled face recognition technology improves operational efficiency, guest satisfaction, and security in the hospital industry. © 2024 IEEE.

The equipment manufacturing industry plays a pivotal role in determining a country's overall competitive standing within the manufacturing sector. Nevertheless, conventional equipment manufacturing enterprises frequently grapple with challenges related to untimely information sharing and a lack of synergy among various departments during their operational processes. These issues often lead to analytical complexities and decision-making conflicts. Acknowledging the inherent subjectivity in interdepartmental decision-making, we introduce reinforcement learning as a framework to scrutinize and derive decisions that best align with the enterprise's requirements. Furthermore, owing to the volatile nature of both internal and external enterprise environments, relying solely on machine-generated decisions typically falls short of meeting the evolving developmental needs of the enterprise. To address this, we advocate for a human-machine collaborative approach to adapt effectively to environmental changes. Consequently, this paper proposes a decision conflict resolution framework tailored specifically for equipment manufacturing enterprises, grounded in the principles of human-machine coordination. Empirical validation through experiments conducted on an openly accessible dataset, sourced from the Allstate Purchase Prediction Challenge, underscores the superiority of our model when it comes to executing decision conflict resolution as compared to existing methodologies. © 2023 IEEE.

Dynamic quantum resource theories study the manipulation of quantum channels by means of a restricted set of free superoperations. In this paper, we formulate general dynamic resource theories using a "top-down"framework, and we provide systematic characterizations for closed and convex resource theories from both information-theoretic and operational perspectives. Our results are summarized as follows. First, we propose and investigate a branch of resource-induced measures of uncertainty, called the free conditional min-entropy (FCME), generalizing the conditional min-entropy and its dynamic extension to scenarios where information processing is subject to variable operational restriction. We provide a complete set of entropic conditions in terms of the FCME for characterizing channel convertibility via free superoperations in any closed and convex resource theory. We also find that the resource global robustness of channels can be equivalently cast as a mutual-information-like quantity derived from the FCME, thereby offering the resource global robustness an information-theoretic interpretation. Apart from the entropic approach, we also study closed and convex resource theories in the contexts of various operational tasks. These tasks are formulated such that each of them induces a complete set of operationally meaningful resource monotones, and therefore they can be used to faithfully test free convertibility between channels. We also systematically study the quantitative relations between the operational advantage of channels in these tasks and the resource robustness measures of channels. In particular, we prove that every well-defined robustness-based measure can be operationally interpreted as some kind of advantage in a task called semiquantum partial preprocessing. Ultimately, our results provide both entropic and operational characterizations for general dynamic quantum resources with a closed and convex structure. © 2023 IEEE.

Numerical analysis of a ITO based circularly polarized optically transparent THz antenna employing characteristic mode analysis

An optically transparent circularly polarized indium tin oxide (ITO) based antenna having operability in THz region is proposed in this paper. An E-shaped slot and an I-shaped slot are embedded into an E-shaped radiating patch modeled by ITO and conductive carbon nanotube (CNT) on a polyimide substrate to obtain circular polarization. The unequal parallel slits of the E-shaped patch with an E-shaped slot lead to introduce two orthogonal modes, and hence circular polarization is achieved. Besides, integration of an I-shaped slot also helps to create the difference in magnitude of current distribution between the two working modes to get better axial ratio. The patch of the antenna is covered with highly CNT film which improves the overall performance of the antenna. To overcome the limitations of the traditional design process, characteristic mode analysis is carried out which helps to realize and analyze circular polarization generation mechanism effectively. The proposed antenna shows a wide 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth of 9.66%. A reasonable gain of 2.61 dBic is obtained at 1.11 THz with excellent radiation performance. Wide 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth with reasonable gain makes this light weight transparent small-antenna competent for wireless and satellites applications. © 2021, Electromagnetics Academy. Different social networks are independent of each other, and identifying the same person in different social networks is of great significance for cross-network information dissemination and the construction of a complete portrait of users. Existing methods for user identification via network embedding ignore the different contributions of neighbors and only consider low-order friend relationships. Aiming at these shortcomings, an algorithm of network Embedding based on Multi-Orders Friends Contribution for User Identification (MOFC) is proposed. Firstly, the difference contribution degree of nodes to their friends is used to assign different weights to the edges between the nodes and their friends. Secondly, the embedding representation vectors of multi-orders friend contribution are used to describe the different orders friend relations of the nodes, and then the representation vectors of different orders are merged to more comprehensively represent network features. Finally, the fusion representation vectors are used as input sample of a neural network to train and build a user identification model. Experiments show that the evaluation indicators of the model have been significantly improved compared with several advanced methods. Compared with the newer and better the CSN_LINE, the accuracy rate of MOFC can be increased by 4.83%, the precision rate can be increased by 6.77%, the recall rate can be increased by 5.49%, the F1-score can be increased by 5.43%. © 2023 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). The height of Infiltration line of tailings dam is a very important parameter for the safety of tailings reservoir. Infiltration line is the intersection line between the free water surface and the cross section of the dam body, that the free water surface is formed by the infiltration of water from the earth dam to the downstream. When the buried depth of the pressure sensors at each monitoring point could be obtained and the groundwater seepage pressure of the tailings dam could be measured too, the height of the free water surface can be calculated then. The commonly used pressure sensor is vibrating wire sensor. Among the many seepage pressure monitoring points, because of the lines, power supply or some other reasons, it often occurs that one or some points do not collect groundwater seepage pressure data for a period of time. For the missing data, BP neural network can be used to mend the missed data. Of course, the patched data should be marked to distinguish it from the real collected data. The mending method of missing seepage pressure data using BP neural network model is analyzed. The influence of anti-normalization parameters on mending data is analyzed. In the process of anti-normalization, the maximum and minimum values of the output data of the training data set are not put to use. Instead, a sequences is formed with the existing output data of some range before and after the mission data segment. The maximum and minimum values of the sequence are selected to use as the anti-normalization parameters. This will make the patched data values closer to the actual collected values. © 2022 IEEE.
