We construct vector differentially-private (DP) mechanisms that are asymptotically optimal in the limit of the number of compositions growing without bound. First, we derive via the central limit theorem a reduction f...

There is a dearth of coursework on designing and implementing services that incorporate machine learning models in university curricula despite the growing industry demand. We describe the design of a course titled "ML Production Systems" which covers the implementation, deployment, monitoring, and updating of machine learning models as part of user-facing web services. The course is designed around a semester-long project to implement and deploy a home sale price prediction service. The course is a required course in a Master’s in Machine Learning program and graduate Machine Learning engineering certificate program. The course was taught in an online synchronous format to twenty-nine students in Fall 2023; fifteen of the students had more than one year of professional experience as software engineers, while the remaining fourteen students were accelerated Master’s students. Analysis of open-ended written student feedback indicated that students in both groups had a positive experience and found the course to be valuable. Assessment of learning outcome achievements with a final exam and project completion rates indicated that nearly all of the students successfully achieved the learning outcomes. No statistically-significant differences in achievement between the working professionals and accelerated Master’s students were detected. We believe that this course and its successful delivery will serve as a blueprint for other faculty who may want to implement similar courses.
This paper covers four comparators with new-designed structures, each of them having superior performance than the classic comparators. A novel comparator design with parallel signal pathways to the output node boosts...

This survey summarizes key control approaches and architectures that reflect the state-of-the-art in aerial manipulation. The central objective is to provide a thorough resource for researchers exploring multirotor configurations suitable for real-time aerial manipulation applications. The focus is on evaluating and comparing prototype systems and their corresponding controller designs, emphasizing real-time implementation, regardless of the number of DOFs of the attached manipulator(s) and of specific applications. The survey groups control methods in three categories based on the specific architecture that is followed: coupled, partially coupled, and decoupled. The metrics used for the comparative study include system configuration, total weight, modeling approach, control architecture, robustness, implementation complexity, task execution precision, and achieved results (via simulations or experiments).
This examination presents a thorough examination concerning the space of distributed picture grouping on tremendous data stages, with a specific focus on using gradient-boosted trees (GBT). The audit differentiates th...

In the process of achieving the Government of India's five-element plan (Panchamrit) to combat climate change, the transport sector is undergoing drastic changes. In parallel to enhancing and encouraging the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem in India, it is equally important and pertinent to focus on the safety aspects of batteries. The rise in the mass production of these batteries and the increased consumer demand will significantly exacerbate the problems and safety aspects associated with the operation, maintenance, recovery, recycling and disposal of batteries. In this paper, EVs (passenger carriers) available in the Indian market, along with the battery type and charging times, are explored and presented. Also, an overview of the regulatory mechanism governing the automobile industry in India is described. The automotive industry standards in India developed under the Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) are also discussed. Some popular and dominant International and National standards development bodies/organizations are listed. Applications of lithium batteries and the potential hazards they pose if mishandled or improperly manufactured are mentioned. UN 38.3 - testing requirements and criteria for safely transporting lithium batteries are outlined. Importantly, (IS) 16046, developed by the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) was analysed and discussed in detail. The battery disposal mechanism in India, governed by the battery waste management rules, is incorporated. Finally, recommendations were provided to strengthen the existing standards.
