Protein-protein interactions are of great significance for human to understand the functional mechanisms of *** the rapid development of high-throughput genomic technologies,massive protein-protein interaction(PPI)data have been generated,making it very difficult to analyze them *** address this problem,this paper presents a distributed framework by reimplementing one of state-of-the-art algorithms,i.e.,CoFex,using *** do so,an in-depth analysis of its limitations is conducted from the perspectives of efficiency and memory consumption when applying it for large-scale PPI data analysis and *** solutions are then devised to overcome these *** particular,we adopt a novel tree-based data structure to reduce the heavy memory consumption caused by the huge sequence information of *** that,its procedure is modified by following the MapReduce framework to take the prediction task distributively.A series of extensive experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our framework in terms of both efficiency and *** results well demonstrate that the proposed framework can considerably improve its computational efficiency by more than two orders of magnitude while retaining the same high accuracy.

Orthogonal matrices have become a vital means for coding and signal processing owing to their unique distributional *** orthogonal matrices based on amplitude or phase combinations have been extensively explored,the orthogonal matrix of polarization combinations(OMPC)is a novel,relatively unexplored ***,we propose a method for constructing OMPCs of any dimension encompassing 4n(where n is 1,2,4,8,…)mutually orthogonal 2ncomponent polarization *** the field of holography,the integration of polarization multiplexing techniques with polarization-sensitive materials is expected to emerge as a groundbreaking approach for multichannel hologram multiplexing,offering considerable enhancements in data storage capacity and security.A multidimensional OMPC enables the realization of multichannel multiplexing and dynamical modulation of information in polarization holographic *** consolidating all information into a single position within the material,we effectively avoided extraneous crosstalk during the reconstruction *** results show that achieving four distinct holographic images individually and simultaneously depends on the polarization combination represented by the incident *** discovery opens up a new avenue for achieving highly holographic information storage and dynamically displayed information,harnessing the potential of OMPC to expand the heretofore limited dimensionality of orthogonal polarization.

This paper considers the problem of decentralized optimization on compact submanifolds, where a finite sum of smooth (possibly non-convex) local functions is minimized by n agents forming an undirected and connected graph. However, the efficiency of distributed optimization is often hindered by communication bottlenecks. To mitigate this, we propose the Quantized Riemannian Gradient Tracking (Q-RGT) algorithm, where agents update their local variables using quantized gradients. The introduction of quantization noise allows our algorithm to bypass the constraints of the accurate Riemannian projection operator (such as retraction), further improving iterative efficiency. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first algorithm to achieve an O(1/K) convergence rate in the presence of quantization, matching the convergence rate of methods without quantization. Additionally, we explicitly derive lower bounds on decentralized consensus associated with a function of quantization levels. Numerical experiments demonstrate that Q-RGT performs comparably to non-quantized methods while reducing communication bottlenecks and computational overhead. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

A recommender system(RS)relying on latent factor analysis usually adopts stochastic gradient descent(SGD)as its learning ***,owing to its serial mechanism,an SGD algorithm suffers from low efficiency and scalability when handling large-scale industrial *** at addressing this issue,this study proposes a momentum-incorporated parallel stochastic gradient descent(MPSGD)algorithm,whose main idea is two-fold:a)implementing parallelization via a novel datasplitting strategy,and b)accelerating convergence rate by integrating momentum effects into its training *** it,an MPSGD-based latent factor(MLF)model is achieved,which is capable of performing efficient and high-quality *** results on four high-dimensional and sparse matrices generated by industrial RS indicate that owing to an MPSGD algorithm,an MLF model outperforms the existing state-of-the-art ones in both computational efficiency and scalability.

A weakly supervised pavement crack segmentation based on adversarial learning and transformers

While pixel-level crack segmentation has demonstrated significant potential in infrastructure inspections, its reliance on detailed annotations poses challenges for widespread adoption due to the time-consuming and expensive nature of such labeling. In response, weakly supervised crack segmentation has garnered attention as it eliminates the need for pixel-level annotations. However, existing methods, primarily based on class activation maps (CAM), involve complex training processes and suffer from poor performance due to misalignment between CAM-generated labels and the true target in the image. To address these challenges, we propose a weakly supervised approach for crack segmentation that simultaneously generates synthetic crack images and performs segmentation through adversarial learning. Unlike traditional methods that rely on coarse labels, our approach leverages synthetic crack images with corresponding labels, effectively eliminating issues of misalignment and noisy pseudo-labels. Our method introduces an encoder-decoder architecture for the segmentation model, incorporating a Transformer-based Feature Enhancement module (TFE) in the encoder. This module is specifically designed to capture long-range dependencies and efficiently integrate both high- and low-level features. Additionally, the model includes a Hilo block to extract both high- and low-frequency information from the images, along with a Progressive Shrinking Decoder (PSD) to aggregate and refine adjacent feature maps. Extensive experiments were conducted, and our model achieved an ODS of 67.12% on the CrackForest dataset, 60.11% on the Crack500 dataset, and 44.80% on the AEL dataset. These results demonstrate that our model outperforms several existing weakly supervised pavement segmentation methods across these datasets.

The issue of building evacuation in the event of a fire is a significant concern in urban planning and architecture. In the absence of appropriate measures, an emergency situation can potentially result in disastrous outcomes. In this review article, we explore the application of agent-based modeling (ABM) in the simulation of building evacuations in the event of a free breakout. To address this issue, we present a synthesis of findings from several studies, highlighting the advantages of ABM in modeling complex evacuation dynamics such as crowd behavior, consideration of multiple parameters, and decision-making processes. Additionally, we provide insight into the simulation tools and techniques used in studies that demonstrate the practical applications of ABM in enhancing evacuation strategies. Furthermore, we identify current challenges, research gaps, and propose future directions to enhance the accuracy and effectiveness of fire evacuation modeling and simulations. This study aims to contribute to the improvement of proposed solutions and models for the development of successful, effective, and reliable evacuation plans to enhance the safety of occupants in buildings. © 2025 The Author(s).

Cloud storage is an emerging archetype used by businesses for data storage. Clients require easy access to data in the cloud, which helps clients with limited computing power move their high-value, high-risk principle jobs to the cloud. The primary concern of this study is towards flawless verifying, checking data bundles, and determining modules to carry out the project. As discussed at several research platforms, each client is concerned about data storage and retrieval. Data security is critical in cloud computing, and thus monitoring has evolved into a vigilance that abstracts the monitoring process. Request made by clients for security planning is always computationally exclusive. As a result, each customer is concerned as to their verified condition. This paper will highlight a secure cloud communication method for client data to address the afore-mentioned issues. Synchronization creates secret hare keys, combined with a model-encrypted data packet sent to the cloud. These secure data are then sent over a public network, subject to monitoring to avert data leakage to an unauthorized party. They lack the cohesion to outsource data storage to the cloud deliberately. As an outcome of this model's distribution, the perception of authorized data owners would be changed regarding cloud storage up to 97.6%, addressing the trust issues between data owners and cloud ace affiliations © 2023, Human-centric Computing and Information *** Rights Reserved.

Locating people in an image or video sequence automatically is a challenging task due to different environmental conditions and wide variety of features. On the other hand, because of its variety of applications, automated human detection is a very popular area. This study proposes a deep learning model for automated human detection. In order to apply this task, the Pascal VOC database has been used for training and testing stages. The feature extraction step is performed using different depths of the Resnet-50 in a faster R-CNN model. Then, the obtained features are used for the classification step. When the results are compared for different depths of the Resnet-50, it is observed that the first 40 depth of the Resnet-50 showed the better performance than the first 46 depth. Also, the faster RCNN model used in this study outperforms the other studies used the same Pascal VOC database in the literature. The proposed system can detect humans indoor or outdoor environments. Also, it produces promising results in human detection task even in occlusion situations. It can be used for different applications such as monitoring people in public areas with security, health, or energy efficiency proposes, etc. © 2020 IEEE.

Additive manufacturing (AM) has revolutionized many industries. Laser Melting Deposition (LMD) offers remarkable utility in size and is an effective method in terms of energy efficiency. The interaction of powder with laser before coming in contact with the substrate helps to attain fair melting and deposition. However, there is a problem associated with non-uniformity and accumulation of metallic melt on the edges of the manufactured parts which needs to be understood. Herein, LMD process of Ti6Al4V alloy is presented. The forces defining the melt pool flow have been elaborated. The phenomenon of recoil pressure and Marangoni actions along the single tracks of the melt pool is defined via the computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis. The behaviour of the melt pool in conduction mode and to check whether it will form a keyhole region or not. The main factor which influences the melt pool dynamics are found to be surface tension and density differences. Two modes of heat transfer conduction and depression are discussed with the Marangoni actions. Conduction mode is mainly governed by Marangoni actions while the depression mode is by recoil pressure. The stream traces and velocity vectors are observed for single tracks LMD process. A similar Marangoni actions experimental investigation is compared with the phenomenon observed under CFD analysis. The Discrete Element Modelling (DEM) adds value to the study as variable particle diameters are considered which are near to the actual powder size distribution. Moreover, considering the conduction mode flow dynamics to avoid the depression mode and generation of keyhole region in the melt pool will lead to porosity. © 2023, The Authors.
