High current density dispenser cathode is critical need for used in high power terahertz devices. Recently scandate cathode using nanoparticle offers very high current density more than 100 A/cm2. Fabrication of this kind of cathode is challenging issue due to its nano dimension of the particle size. One of the critical parameter is surface roughness of the emission surface. We develop dispenser cathode using tungsten nano-particle of average particle diameter 50 nm, spherical morphology and uniform phase. In this paper we explain the effect of surface roughness on the emission current density of the dispenser cathode. © 2012 IEEE.

Protein-protein interactions are of great significance for human to understand the functional mechanisms of *** the rapid development of high-throughput genomic technologies,massive protein-protein interaction(PPI)data have been generated,making it very difficult to analyze them *** address this problem,this paper presents a distributed framework by reimplementing one of state-of-the-art algorithms,i.e.,CoFex,using *** do so,an in-depth analysis of its limitations is conducted from the perspectives of efficiency and memory consumption when applying it for large-scale PPI data analysis and *** solutions are then devised to overcome these *** particular,we adopt a novel tree-based data structure to reduce the heavy memory consumption caused by the huge sequence information of *** that,its procedure is modified by following the MapReduce framework to take the prediction task distributively.A series of extensive experiments have been conducted to evaluate the performance of our framework in terms of both efficiency and *** results well demonstrate that the proposed framework can considerably improve its computational efficiency by more than two orders of magnitude while retaining the same high accuracy.

This paper presents conceptual design and feasibility analysis for oversized grain harvesting combine headers with dynamic topology. To meet customer harvesting productivity requirements, the harvesting header must increase in width from 40 to 60 feet, yet be usable on current generation combine harvesters. While designing concepts for an oversized harvester head is a complex problem by itself, it also presents a latent challenge with packaging and transporting. Transporting a 60ft harvester header using traditional methods will violate road transport regulations imposed by US state and federal governments. This warrants innovations in both designing an oversized header concepts and viable means to package it for domestic and international shipping. The Advanced systems Design Suite (ASDS) was used to design, visualize and perform quick assessment of the proposed concept designs. Three preliminary design concepts were generated based on customer requirements and manufacturer’s guidelines, of which one design was chosen for transitioning into detailed design stages. Static engineering analysis showed that the combine harvester’s feederhouse mount can support the additional mass of the larger header. Articulation mechanisms were represented by primitive shapes created in ASDS to visualize the preliminary design solution for packaging the header for transportation. Finite Element Analyses (FEA) was performed to determine the required size, shape, and position of the articulation mechanisms. Harvest productivity analyses were performed to assess business feasibility on the oversized header design. Header performance requirements identified potential time and monetary savings of an articulated header compared to a non articulated head of the same size. Reducing the time required to perform "non-harvesting activities" with currently available combines enables the manufacturer to generate a more feasible detailed design addressing this difficult design challenge. With the development of systems biology, more and more researchers focus on the study of bio-molecular networks. In recent years, researchers in different fields have accumulated a large number of biological experimental data and algorithms for analysis and calculation of bio-molecular networks, but these data and methods are relatively independent, difficult to be utilized by biologists. Based on PSE-Bio, a problem solving environment for bioinformatics, this paper describes an integrated computing environment for bio-molecular networks in order to achieve molecular homology analysis, bio-molecular network building, querying, statistics and visualization.

In this paper we show that the Cerenkov radiation in artificial dielectric (metamaterial) noticeably increases Smith-Purcell radiation (SPR) intensity from the metamaterial grating if the two radiation condition is properly matched. We compare the radiated field intensity from lamellar metal grating and metamaterial grating and found that radiated field intensity of metamaterial grating is more intense than radiated field intensity of lamellar grating. © 2012 IEEE.

Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is a new technology. In recent years, it is convenient and feasible in many applications. However, it also addresses many security issues which are worth discussing. The Counterfeit imposes a menace to industry worldwide, and the problem is not specific for certain products or countries. In 2003, Koh et al. describe a RFID system based on "track and trace" solution to apply into pharmaceutical supply chain management to fight the counterfeit. Moreover, there are applications to solve malicious manner were presented. But there always still existed some disputes and not conform Class 1 Generation 2 (C1G2) standards. Unfortunately, the trick is changeable. The Koh et al.'s scheme is at premise rather primitive. In order to tackle this problem, we propose an anti-counterfeit ownership transfer protocol for low cost RFID system. We only use a tag to be a storage media. The proposed scheme can ensure a secure transaction.

In this paper, we discussed the method for optimization of fiber-optic surface plasmon resonance (SPR) sensor and the effect of optimized parameters by analysis of the transmission spectrum of waveguide-based SPR sensors. Because of their high sensitivity, the SPR sensors can be used in a lot of chemical and biological studies, but it is difficult to perform a theoretical analysis of an SPR fiber sensor. Therefore, for the design and analysis of the sensor responses, a fiber-optic SPR sensor can be optimized numerically by adjusting parameters such as the thickness of metal layers and the grating period, etc. We simulated and optimized parameters by employing the method of the rigorous coupled wave analysis and the genetic algorithm. Also we discussed the methods for improving sensing capability. © 2009 SPIE.

Non-functional requirements/characteristics are important for providing effectively every kind of services including web services. A realistic web service must meet both functional and non-functional requirements of its consumers. Therefore, it is important that a web services framework is augmented so that non-functional characteristics of a web service can be determined at run-time and consumers are bound to a service that best meet their functional as well as non-functional requirements. In this paper, we propose an extension of the existing web services framework that enables a collection of functional and non-functional service characteristics at run-time, and usage of the collected data in discovery, binding, and execution of web services. Descriptions of new and enhanced components of the proposed framework are also presented. Typical publishing and usage scenarios in the proposed framework are also described.
