In cloud manufacturing (CMfg), various services with different functions are aggregated into an optimal service composition to handle complex manufacturing tasks, while maximizing service quality. However, the collaborative effect between services has a significant impact on the service composition, and the conflict between tasks may also affect the operation of the service composition in a real manufacturing environment. To handle these problems, this paper proposes an adaptive model of manufacturing service composition based on conflict detection. First, the preference information of both service parties and the collaborative performance between the services are considered to obtain a more realistic and satisfactory service composition. Subsequently, resource conflicts are detected in real time, and resolved according to their types, so as to realize the self-adaptation of the service composition. Finally, the illustrative case and experimental results are conducted to verify the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed model. © 2022 SPIE.

To express the right information about enterprise data and trace the changes of data right in the whole life cycle of data, this paper designed a data right provenance model based on the W3C PROV model. The PROV-R model defined the core class to support the representation of data right with a new set of relations to express the interaction between the classes. In order to trace the complex right relations, the model uses some inference rules to add the new relational statements. Finally, a data trading process shows the application of this data right provenance model. © 2022 SPIE.

Achieving the precise and real-time detection of wheat spikes play a crucial role in wheat growth monitoring for precision agriculture community. Machine-learning methods are commonly introduced to automatically detect and count the wheat spikes, which need carefully selected hand-crafted feature descriptors, leading to time-consuming and poor performance. The deep learning has become a promising technology for the accurate detection wheat spikes, owing to its powerful ability of feature extraction. However, the obtained wheat spike images from UAV still have serious overlap, dense distribution, various orientations, and large aspect ratios, leading to poor performance of recent wheat spike detection method. To address the demand of precise and fast detection and counting of wheat spike with dense distribution and arbitrary-orientation, a novel deep learning-based method, WheatNet, has been proposed. The attention mechanism has been introduced the process of feature fusing to highlight the important features of wheat spike as well as inhibit the useless information. Additionally, to optimize the parameters of the network, a loss function with soft dynamic label assignment is adopted to reduce the number of low-quality matches, which provides significant performance gains over other wheat spike detectors. Furthermore, to achieve the precise detection of wheat spike with multi-orientations, a large-scale oriented wheat spike dataset has been constructed, named RoWheat, including 900 images and 50419 annotations with dense distribution and various orientation. Experimental studies demonstrate that the proposed WheatNet achieves a recall of 99.7% and mAP of 91.8%, showing its promising performance gain compared to other state-of-the-art methods. © 2023 IEEE.

We propose a novel siamese generative adversarial net for abstractive text summarization (SSPGAN), which can preserve the main semantics of the source text. Different from previous generative adversarial net based methods, SSPGAN is equipped with a siamese semanticpreserving discriminator, which can not only be trained to discriminate the machine-generated summaries from the human-summarized ones, but also ensure the semantic consistency between the source text and target summary. As a consequence of the min-max game between the generator and the siamese semantic-preserving discriminator, the generator can generate a summary that conveys the key content of the source text more accurately. Extensive experiments on several text summarization benchmarks in different languages demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © Findings of the Association for Computational Linguistics: NAACL 2022 - Findings.

Graphs are good at presenting relational and structural information, making it powerful in the representation of various data. For the efficient storage and processing of graph-like data, graph databases have been rapidly developed and extensively studied. However, graph databases mostly use adjacency lists as their basic data structure (e.g., Neo4j), which could result in poor performance of edge due to the skewed degree distribution of *** design the Wind-Bell Index to address this problem. Wind-Bell Index is a memory-efficient index data structure, which can be attached to existing graph databases to speed up the edge. We have fully implemented our data structure in Neo4j, the most popular graph database today, and conduct theoretical and experimental analysis to evaluate the performance. Theoretical results prove the high query efficiency of our algorithm. And experimental results show that the average edge query speed is increased by hundreds of times compared with the original query interface of Neo4j. We believe that the excellent performance and scalability of Wind-Bell Index make it suitable for the application in a variety of graph databases.

In global data analysis, the central server needs the global statistic of the user data stored in local clients. In such cases, an Honest-but-Curious central server might put user privacy at risk in trying to collect individual statistics of each user. In response, the secure aggregation provides a solution for calculating global statistics without revealing users’ privacy data. However, existing secure aggregation protocols only focus on the data in the form of vectors or common sets, which limits their application scope. We formalize a general problem—key-value set secure aggregation—that not only includes secure vector aggregation and private set union but also supports more applications. To address the proposed problem, we devise our solution (called the KVSAgg framework) that promises satisfactory performance in security, efficiency, and accuracy. Our key technique is a homomorphic transform algorithm (called HyperIBLT) that is not only capable of bidirectionally transforming data between key-value sets and vectors, but also able to transform sum operation of sets to addition of vectors. We implement KVSAgg on both CPU and GPU platforms and perform the evaluation on three use cases including federated learning, distributed data counting, and finding global hot items. Compared with our baselines, KVSAgg simultaneously achieves the best security, efficiency higher by orders of magnitude, and zero-error in nearly all cases. All codes are open-source anonymously.

Learning by Applying: A General Framework for Mathematical Reasoning via Enhancing Explicit Knowledge Learning

Mathematical reasoning is one of the crucial abilities of general artificial intelligence, which requires machines to master mathematical logic and knowledge from solving problems. However, existing approaches are not transparent (thus not interpretable) in terms of what knowledge has been learned and applied in the reasoning process. In this paper, we propose a general Learning by Applying (LeAp) framework to enhance existing models (backbones) in a principled way by explicit knowledge learning. In LeAp, we perform knowledge learning in a novel problem-knowledge-expression paradigm, with a Knowledge Encoder to acquire knowledge from problem data and a Knowledge Decoder to apply knowledge for expression reasoning. The learned mathematical knowledge, including word-word relations and word-operator relations, forms an explicit knowledge graph, which bridges the knowledge "learning" and "applying" organically. Moreover, for problem solving, we design a semantics-enhanced module and a reasoning-enhanced module that apply knowledge to improve the problem comprehension and symbol reasoning abilities of any backbone, respectively. We theoretically prove the superiority of LeAp's autonomous learning mechanism. Experiments on three real-world datasets show that LeAp improves all backbones' performances, learns accurate knowledge, and achieves a more interpretable reasoning process. Artificial intelligence(AI) is the key to mining and enhancing the value of big data, and knowledge graph is one of the important cornerstones of artificial intelligence, which is the core foundation for the integration of statistical and physical representations. Named entity recognition is a fundamental research task for building knowledge graphs, which needs to be supported by a high-quality corpus, and currently there is a lack of high-quality named entity recognition corpus in the field of geology, especially in Chinese. In this paper, based on the conceptual structure of geological ontology and the analysis of the characteristics of geological texts, a classification system of geological named entity types is designed with the guidance and participation of geological experts, a corresponding annotation specification is formulated, an annotation tool is developed, and the first named entity recognition corpus for the geological domain is annotated based on real geological reports. The total number of words annotated was 698 512 and the number of entities was 23 345. The paper also explores the feasibility of a model pre-annotation strategy and presents a statistical analysis of the distribution of technical and term categories across genres and the consistency of corpus annotation. Based on this corpus, a Lite Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers(ALBERT)-Bi-directional Long Short-Term Memory(BiLSTM)-Conditional Random Fields(CRF) and ALBERT-BiLSTM models are selected for experiments, and the results show that the F1-scores of the recognition performance of the two models reach 0.75 and 0.65 respectively, providing a corpus basis and technical support for information extraction in the field of geology.

Denoising Pre-Training and Customized Prompt Learning for Efficient Multi-Behavior Sequential Recommendation

In the realm of recommendation systems, users exhibit a diverse array of behaviors when interacting with items. This phenomenon has spurred research into learning the implicit semantic relationships between these behaviors to enhance recommendation performance. However, these methods often entail high computational complexity. To address concerns regarding efficiency, pre-training presents a viable solution. Its objective is to extract knowledge from extensive pre-training data and fine-tune the model for downstream tasks. Nevertheless, previous pre-training methods have primarily focused on single-behavior data, while multi-behavior data contains significant noise. Additionally, the fully fine-tuning strategy adopted by these methods still imposes a considerable computational burden. In response to this challenge, we propose DPCPL, the first pre-training and prompt-tuning paradigm tailored for Multi-Behavior Sequential Recommendation. Specifically, in the pre-training stage, we commence by proposing a novel Efficient Behavior Miner (EBM) to filter out the noise at multiple time scales, thereby facilitating the comprehension of the contextual semantics of multi-behavior sequences. Subsequently, we propose to tune the pre-trained model in a highly efficient manner with the proposed Customized Prompt Learning (CPL) module, which generates personalized, progressive, and diverse prompts to fully exploit the potential of the pre-trained model effectively. Extensive experiments on three real-world datasets have unequivocally demonstrated that DPCPL not only exhibits high efficiency and effectiveness, requiring minimal parameter adjustments but also surpasses the state-of-the-art performance across a diverse range of downstream tasks. Salix-Leaf: Find Main Veins of Signal Clusters for Practical Parallel Decoding

Parallel decoding of backscatter improves communication throughput by enabling concurrent transmission of backscatter tags. In practical applications of parallel decoding, it is extremely difficult to distinguish collided signals in superclusters where multiple signal clusters overlap. Existing methods are usually effective for superclusters with uniformly distributed signals. Nevertheless, there are many more scenarios in which signals in superclusters tend to gather unevenly, and existing methods cannot work. Such uneven clustering of signals occurs due to the following two possible causes: (1) signal-strengthdifferences (SSDs) among tags;or (2) cluster drifting (CD) driven by interferences from other objects within communication environments. This paper proposes a novel scheme called SalixLeaf, which aims to identify the main veins of signal clusters to address this problem of superclusters with unevenly distributed signals. Salix-Leaf identifies the main vein of each signal cluster for fine-grained clustering so that the direction of the main veins can be used to verify the accuracy of clustering. In addition, SalixLeaf employs a supercluster decomposer that divides signals into different segments for clustering analysis, enhancing robustness and practicability. Experimental results show that Salix-Leaf achieves a 1.2-fold increase in throughput and a 25% reduction in bit error rate (BER) compared to the state-of-the-art. © 2002-2012 IEEE.
