Streaming processing is an important technology that finds applications in networking, multimedia, signal processing, etc. However, it is very challenging to design and implement streaming applications as they impose complex constraints. First, the tasks involved in the streaming applications must complete the computation under a latency constraint. Second, streaming systems are built under more and more stringent power budget. Hence, power capping technique is employed to manage the power consumption for streaming systems. To accommodate these needs, heterogeneous systems that consist of CPUs and FPGAs are becoming increasingly popular due to their performance and power benefits. In this paper, we optimize the throughput for streaming applications on CPU-FPGA heterogeneous system under latency and power constraints. We develop two algorithms to map the tasks onto the heterogeneous system and order their execution by exploiting the heterogeneity in architectural capabilities and task characteristics. We also employ pipelining to improve the throughput by overlapping the execution of different frames and use frequency scaling to adjust the execution of tasks for power saving. Experiments using a variety of streaming applications show that our heterogeneous solution can successfully meet the latency and power constraints for the cases where the CPU implementation fails. Furthermore, our technique can improve the throughput by 37.32% on average.

We consider the Gaussian interference channel as a non-cooperative game taking into account the cost of the transmission. We study the conditions of the existence of a pure Nash equilibrium. Particularly, for the many-user case we give sufficient conditions that lead to a Nash equilibrium, and for the two-user case we exhaustively describe the conditions of the existence and the uniqueness of a pure Nash equilibrium and we show the existence of best-response dynamics that converge to one of them.

The Australian, Chinese, European, Indian, and North American pulsar timing array (PTA) collaborations recently reported, at varying levels, evidence for the presence of a nanohertz gravitational wave background (GWB). Given that each PTA made different choices in modeling their data, we perform a comparison of the GWB and individual pulsar noise parameters across the results reported from the PTAs that constitute the International Pulsar Timing Array (IPTA). We show that despite making different modeling choices, there is no significant difference in the GWB parameters that are measured by the different PTAs, agreeing within 1σ. The pulsar noise parameters are also consistent between different PTAs for the majority of the pulsars included in these analyses. We bridge the differences in modeling choices by adopting a standardized noise model for all pulsars and PTAs, finding that under this model there is a reduction in the tension in the pulsar noise parameters. As part of this reanalysis, we"extended" each PTA's data set by adding extra pulsars that were not timed by that PTA. Under these extensions, we find better constraints on the GWB amplitude and a higher signal-to-noise ratio for the Hellings and Downs correlations. These extensions serve as a prelude to the benefits offered by a full combination of data across all pulsars in the IPTA, i.e., the IPTA's Data Release 3, which will involve not just adding in additional pulsars, but also including data from all three PTAs where any given pulsar is timed by more than as single PTA. Auditing mechanisms are received much attentions from researchers due to the developing of cloud storage. Recently, Wang et al. proposed a privacy preserving public auditing mechanism for shared cloud data with supporting group dynamic. However, we find some security flaws in their mechanism. In this paper, a forgery attack and a data corruption attack are proposed to demonstrate the insecurity. Then, we propose a modified scheme based on their mechanism. The security analysis is demonstrated that our improvement can resist the mentioned two attacks. © 2017 ACM.

Over the past few years there are many developments in the area of classification in data mining. Classification is a supervised learning method, that maps data into predefined groups or classes. Nowadays classification techniques are extensively used in different applications. In this area most of the research works are done on text, image, signal etc. The main goal of this paper is to use a dictionary-based approach to learn, represent and classify documents. We consider dictionary as a collection of documents and each document in the dictionary is represented as a collection of vectors. An algorithm is also implemented to easily locate a class specific document in the dictionary and if it is not present, update the dictionary. The existing method is based on a dictionary learning algorithm which only improves the document representation based on Singular Value Decomposition (SVD) updation. Since SVD will not be helpful for discrimination of data, so our proposed algorithm is Linear Discriminant Analysis (LDA) for learning a discriminating dictionary. On applying the proposed algorithm on well known dataset, the overall results obtained shows 90% improvement in accuracy. The advantage is that it can be used for both representation as well as classification. © 2016 IEEE.

With the advent of more users accessing internet for information retrieval, researchers are more focused in creating system for recommendation of web service(WS) which minimize the complexity of selection process and optimize the quality of recommendation. This paper implements a framework for recommendation of personalized WS coupled with the quality optimization, using the quality features available in WS Ontology. It helps users to acquire the best recommendation by consuming the contextual information and the quality of WS. Adaptive framework performs i) the retrieval of context information ii) calculation of similarity between users preferences and WS features, similarity between preferred WS with other WS specifications iii) collaboration of web service ratings provided by current user and other users. Finally, WS quality features are considered for computing the Quality of Service. The turnout of recommendation reveals the selection of highly reliable web services, as credibility is used for QoS predication. © Springer International Publishing AG 2016.

The harvesting of ambient radio-frequency (RF) energy is an attractive and clean way to realize the idea of self-powered electronics. Here we present a design for a microwave energy harvester based on a nanoscale spintronic diode (NSD). This diode contains a magnetic tunnel junction with a canted magnetization of the free layer, and can convert RF energy over the frequency range from 100 MHz to 1.2 GHz into DC electric voltage. An attractive property of the developed NSD is the generation of an almost constant DC voltage in a wide range of frequencies of the external RF signals. We further show that the developed NSD provides sufficient DC voltage to power a low-power nanodevice - a black phosphorus photo-sensor. Our results demonstrate that the developed NSD could pave the way for using spintronic detectors as building blocks for self-powered nano-systems, such as implantable biomedical devices, wireless sensors, and portable electronics. The use of unimodal biometric system is very low because of physiological defects, modes of user and their environment. Some of those drawbacks are alleviated by providing same identity for multiple evidences. Here a multimodal biometric system is proposed based on LBP, PCA and probabilistic neural network (PNN). In proposed method LBP extracted the Face features from face images and those features are given as input to PCA that generates Face Feature Vector with reduced Dimensions. Finger features are extracted from Fingerprint images using LBP and those features are given as input to PCA that generates Finger Feature Vector with reduced Dimensions. Using LBP, the distinct textual features of face and fingerprint are extracted. Weighted Summation Fusion method is used to combine these unimodal features. A probabilistic neural network is used as Classifier. An average recognition rate of 97.5% achieved with proposed method. Proposed method show that the proposed algorithm requires low computational cost. © 2016 IEEE.

Opinion targets extraction of Chinese microblogs plays an important role in opinion mining. There has been a significant progress in this area recently, especially the method based on conditional random field （CRF）. However, this method only takes lexicon-related features into consideration and does not excavate the implied syntactic and semantic knowledge. We propose a novel approach which incorporates domain lexicon with groups of syntactical and semantic features. The approach acquires domain lexicon through a novel way which explores syntactic and semantic information through Part- of-Speech, dependency structure, phrase structure, semantic role and semantic similarity based on word embedding. And then we combine the domain lexicon with opinion targets extracted from CRF with groups of features for opinion targets extraction. Experimental results on COAE2014 dataset show the outperformance of the approach compared with other well-known methods on the task of opinion targets extraction.

In0.06Ga0.94N/GaN superlattices (SLs) grown on sapphire (0001) by metalorganic chemical vapor deposition were studied before and after europium (Eu) ion implantation to understand the strain induced-effects in the SL structure. The implanted SLs were investigated as a function of the thermal annealing temperature up to 1000°C in nitrogen ambient. Temperature dependent photoluminescence spectra showed a red-shift of the SL emission peaks due the quantum confined Stark effect, followed by a blue-shift due to In atoms out-diffusion from the In0.06Ga0.94N quantum well, for both Eu ions implanted and unimplanted SLs. The amplitude of observed spectral shifts was smaller and the line width of the SLs emission peaks were narrower in the SLs:Eu3+ as compared to the unimplanted SLs. It is concluded that Eu3+ ions modified the strain in the SLs acting like impurity and/or defects getter in implantation degraded SLs resulting in material phase purification and improvements of SLs optical properties.
