The air humidity and temperature greatly impact the water evaporation efficiency. It is commonly doubted whether the evaporative cooling technology is suitable for the humid climate as well as the public’s care about the water consumption for cooling. This paper provids a feasibility study for the use of a DPC (dew point air cooler) in Beijing, a representative city in warm and humid climate. The overall analyses include an hourly cooling performance analysis in a typical cooling day, annual energy performance prediction and economic analysis based on an experimentally validated simulation tool. With detailed analyses of the real weather data all year round, it is found the outdoor air must be dehumidified to meet the humidity requirement in most of the cooling hours for any air conditioning means. Thus, the superiority of evaporative cooling would be prominent comparing to the conventional mechanical cooling. The water consumption is little especially considering the fact that the conventional power generation consumes large quantity of water and the DPC saves large sales of power. The results proved the feasibility for the DPC applied in Beijing. The success in application of the proposed DPC in the warm and humid region promises more opportunities of the dew point cooling technology.

This paper addresses the role of virtual reality in addressing the specific challenge of the increasing complexity and decreasing usability when dealing with the level of detail required to model a zero emission neighbourhood (ZEN).[1] In such neighbourhoods, there is a need to handle both 'top down' neighbourhood level data with 'bottom up' building and material level data. This can quickly become overwhelming particularly when dealing with non expert users such as planners, architects, researchers and citizens who play a key part in the design process of future ZENs. Visualisation is an invaluable means to communicate complex data in an interactive way that makes it easier for diverse stakeholders to engage in decision making early and throughout the design process. The main purpose of this work has been to make ZEN key performance indicators (KPIs) more easily comprehensible to a diverse set of stakeholders who need to be involved in the early design phase. The paper investigates how existing extended reality (XR) technologies, such as virtual reality, can be integrated with an existing dynamic LCA method in order to provide visualise feedback on KPIs in early phase design of sustainable neighbourhoods. This existing method provides a dynamic link between the REVIT Bim and the ZEB Tool using a Dynamo plugin.[2] The results presented in this paper demonstrate how virtual reality can help to improve stakeholder participation in the early design phase and more easily integrate science-based knowledge on GHG emissions and other KPIs into the further development of the user-centered architectural and urban ZEN toolbox for the design and planning, operation and monitoring of ZENs. Delay defects under high temperature have been one of the most critical factors to affect the reliability of computer systems, and the current test methods don't address this problem properly. In this paper, a temperature-aware software-based self-testing (SBST) technique is proposed to self-heat the processors within a high temperature range and effectively test delay faults under high temperature. First, it automatically generates high-quality test programs through automatic test instruction generation (ATIG), and avoids over-testing caused by nonfunctional patterns. Second, it exploits two effective powerintensive program transformations to self-heat up the processors internally. Third, it applies a greedy algorithm to search the optimized schedule of the test templates in order to generate the test program while making sure that the temperature of the processor under test is within the specified range. Experimental results show that the generated program is successful to guarantee delay test within the given temperature range, and achieves high test performance with functional patterns.
