The paper deals with the issues of metamerism in multimedia and telecommunication paths. Attention is focused on the end devices of the end-To-end path. A comparison is made in the assessments using traditional coordinate systems for representing colors, and in the coordinates of modern color models CAM16, CAM20u, ZCAM. Numerical differences in the obtained data are shown under the same input conditions. Statistical data of metamer estimates using Mac Adam ellipses are presented. A study was conducted in the work, showing that the spectral compositions of colors can be perceived as one color (based on McAdam's data), but when processed, their number can be different. Based on research, we can say that the differences can reach to 15%. When processing ZCAM models, the number of colors taken into account during transmission will be greater, which makes it possible to reduce the degree of influence of metamerism on color reproduction. © 2022 IEEE.

Smart cities, through investment in human and social capital as well as traditional and modern communications infrastructure, drive sustainable economic growth and high quality of life. IoT devices, as crucial components of smart cities, leverage the Federated Learning (FL) paradigm to contribute significantly to the advancement of smart cities by providing the value of data while safeguarding local data. However, existing federated learning frameworks for smart cities face several issues, including excessive centralization of decision-making and data, unbalanced resource allocation, and security and privacy concerns. To address these challenges, This paper aims to propose a blockchain-based federated learning framework for IoT devices in smart cities. We combine multiple security and privacy-preserving techniques such as differential privacy and Trusted Execution Environments (TEE) with federated learning to establish a framework that facilitates secure and trustworthy data exchange and FL requirements for IoT devices in smart cities. Moreover, we offload the local training computation from the limited IoT devices to the edge server and execute trust aggregation on the blockchain smart contracts. We build a prototype of our designed system and conduct experiments on diverse federated learning datasets. Experimental results demonstrate that our scheme achieves high efficiency while ensuring security and privacy. Through this work, we provide a viable solution for federated learning in smart cities, thereby advancing the sustainable development and intelligence of smart cities. © 2024 IEEE.

Farm production and food security are affected by green leaf diseases. Modern disease detection technologies may discover plant health issues early. This work uses Raspberry Pi, a cheap and flexible single-board computer, along the advanced Random Forest machine learning technique to identify a green leaf disease. To identify crop diseases, the study uses automated, non-invasive technologies. From labeled images of good and sickly leaves, the algorithm extracts color histograms and texture, and form. It feeds a Random Forest classifier these properties for classifying data with high dimensions. Several green leaf diseased plant species were examined. This method detected plant health concerns with high precision. Movement and low cost make the Raspberry Pi ideal for remote and resource-limited agriculture, increasing farming accuracy. Helping farmers and users identify and develop green leaf diseases improves efficient farming. This methodology has the potential to improve crop management, optimize pesticide usage, and increase agricultural productivity. These results might contribute to the development of advanced automatic disease detection techniques to address green leaf diseases in modern agriculture. © 2024 IEEE.

Boosting the Restoring Performance of Deduplication Data by Classifying Backup Metadata

Restoring data is the main purpose of data backup in storage systems. The fragmentation issue, caused by physically scattering logically continuous data across a variety of disk locations, poses a negative impact on the restoring performance of a deduplication system. Rewriting algorithms are used to alleviate the fragmentation problem by improving the restoring speed of a deduplication system. However, rewriting methods give birth to a big sacrifice in terms of deduplication ratio, leading to a huge storage space waste. Furthermore, traditional backup approaches treat file metadata and chunk metadata as the same, which causes frequent on-disk metadata accesses. In this article, we start by analyzing storage characteristics of backup metadata. An intriguing finding shows that with 10 million files, the file metadata merely takes up approximately 340 MB. Motivated by this finding, we propose a Classified-Metadata based Restoring method (CMR) that classifies backup metadata into file metadata and chunk metadata. Because the file metadata merely takes up a meager amount of space, CMR maintains all file metadata in memory, whereas chunk metadata are aggressively prefetched to memory in a greedy manner. A deduplication system with CMR in place exhibits three salient features: (i) It avoids rewriting algorithms' additional overhead by reducing the number of disk reads in a restoring process, (ii) it increases the restoring throughput without sacrificing the deduplication ratio, and (iii) it thoroughly leverages the hardware resources to boost the restoring performance. To quantitatively evaluate the performance of CMR, we compare our CMR against two state-of-the-art approaches, namely, a history-aware rewriting method (HAR) and a context-based rewriting scheme (CAP). The experimental results show that compared to HAR and CAP, CMR reduces the restoring time by 27.2% and 29.3%, respectively. This paper presents the development of a secure data platform designed to enhance operational efficiency and to facilitate cross-company collaboration within the manufacturing supply chain. The platform is designed to ease secure information exchange while maintaining the sovereignty of each participant, leveraging standardized security features and advanced technologies such as federated learning. Security measures are based on a comprehensive risk analysis, which methodically identifies, assesses, and mitigates potential threats. Moreover, federated learning models that are not transparent are utilized. This allows data owners to maintain control over sensitive information within the consortium. Leveraging Ethical Narratives to Enhance LLM-AutoML Generated Machine Learning Models

The growing popularity of generative AI and large language models (LLMs) has sparked innovation alongside debate, particularly around issues of plagiarism and intellectual property law. However, a less-discussed concern is the quality of code generated by these models, which often contains errors and encourages poor programming practices. This paper proposes a novel solution by integrating LLMs with automated machine learning (AutoML). By leveraging AutoML's strengths in hyperparameter tuning and model selection, we present a framework for generating robust and reliable machine learning (ML) algorithms. Our approach incorporates natural language processing (NLP) and natural language understanding (NLU) techniques to interpret chatbot prompts, enabling more accurate and customisable ML model generation through AutoML. To ensure ethical AI practices, we have also introduced a filtering mechanism to address potential biases and enhance accountability. The proposed methodology not only demonstrates practical implementation but also achieves high predictive accuracy, offering a viable solution to current challenges in LLM-based code generation. In summary, this paper introduces a new application of NLP and NLU to extract features from chatbot prompts, feeding them into an AutoML system to generate ML algorithms. This approach is framed within a rigorous ethical framework, addressing concerns of bias and accountability while enhancing the reliability of code generation. © 2025 The Author(s). Increasing global energy consumption has become an urgent problem as natural energy sources such as oil,gas,and uranium are rapidly running *** into renewable energy sources such as solar energy is being pursued to counter *** energy is one of the most promising renewable energy sources,as it has the potential to meet the world’s energy needs *** study aims to develop and evaluate artificial intelligence(AI)models for predicting hourly global *** hyperparameters were optimized using the Broyden-FletcherGoldfarb-Shanno(BFGS)quasi-Newton training algorithm and STATISTICA *** from two stations in Algeria with different climatic zones were used to develop the *** error measurements were used to determine the accuracy of the prediction models,including the correlation coefficient,the mean absolute error,and the root mean square error(RMSE).The optimal support vector machine(SVM)model showed exceptional efficiency during the training phase,with a high correlation coefficient(R=0.99)and a low mean absolute error(MAE=26.5741 Wh/m^(2)),as well as an RMSE of 38.7045 Wh/m^(2) across all ***,this study highlights the importance of accurate prediction models in the renewable energy,which can contribute to better energy management and planning.

Spherical evolution (SE) is a recently proposed meta-heuristic algorithm. Its special search approach has been proved to be very effective in exploring the search space. SE is very powerful for optimization, but still has room for improvement due to some promising solutions usually fail to survive into the next generation. To alleviate this issue, we innovatively design a novel lottery-based elite retention strategy and propose a lottery elite spherical evolution algorithm (LESE). To verify the effectiveness of the proposed LESE, we experimentally compare it with the original SE algorithm and other representative meta-heuristics algorithms. We use 30 benchmark functions from the IEEE CEC2017 benchmark as the test set for our experiments. The effectiveness of LESE is demonstrated by analyzing the experimental results from perspectives of solution accuracy, convergence speed, solution distribution, and search dynamics. © 2022 IEEE.
