In this study, we aim to optimize the process for developing antireflective and refractive-index-matching films on flexible substrates. The development of these films is crucial in light of the increasing demand in the market for flexible electronics, which are poised to be the next emerging technology and application after semiconductors and flat panel displays. Our research involves the production of these films by physical vapor deposition and sputtering techniques, which can also be applied to various optical thin films. The effectiveness of our coating process has been verified and refined on the basis of feedback. The results of this study are applicable to related industrial technologies and will contribute to improving industry competitiveness. © 2024 M Y U Scientific Publishing Division. Balance disorders, particularly in the elderly population, pose a significant public health challenge due to the associated risk of falls. Exercise-based therapies are effective for reducing this risk but face limitations like cost, accessibility, and sustaining patient engagement. By enabling personalized rehabilitation through engaging exergames, Virtual Reality (VR) offers a promising, cost-effective solution. This paper presents the collaborative design and preliminary evaluation of two VR-based games targeting specific balance skills. Developed in collaboration with a physiotherapist with extensive experience with patients with balance disorders, the games align with a rehabilitation protocol used by the therapist that categorizes training based on individual balance skills. Inspired by traditional physiotherapy exercises, the gameplay aims to train the same skills. Six health professionals agreed on the games' therapeutic potential, while recommending improvements in usability, difficulty adjustment and monitoring of patient progress. © 2025 IEEE.

Modern digital technology breakthroughs include machine learning. It's used in medical, image processing, manufacturing, aviation, autonomics, and more. Our main goal is to find an automated system that can accurately rate production machines at any given moment. The critical energy meter characteristics needed to create power reports in automation system to solve production difficulties at defined intervals were also not captured. We apply machine learning to estimate manufacturing machine accuracy in this study. We employed supervised machine learning of binary decision tree using CART method and power report, obtained data using RS232 to RS485 convertor through Modbus communication protocol, to overcome these challenges. This study presents issue formulation, energy meter data analysis and retrieval, and ML approaches used to estimate production machine accuracy. After retrieving the parameters, we provide power reports for each machine and a graphical warning of deteriorating performance. © 2024 IEEE.

Evolutionary Techniques for the Solution of Bio-Heat Equation Arising in Human Dermal Region Model

The proposed research work analyzes the bio-inspired problem through artificial neural networks with a feed-forward approach utilized to approximate the numerical results for singular nonlinear bio-heat equation (BHE) with boundary conditions based on four different scenarios created on the variation of environmental temperature to illustrate the effects of temperature on the human dermal region. The log-sigmoid function is used to construct the fitness function, while the optimization solvers: pattern search and genetic algorithm, are then hybridized with the active set technique, interior point technique, sequential quadratic programming for accurate and reliable results of the proposed BHE with various scenarios where the convergence of the numerical results is also analyzed. Moreover, a comparison of the proposed technique is expressed through residual error that reveals the nature of the numerical results and their efficiency. Additionally, a comprehensive statistical analysis is presented for the designed technique to better illustrate the accuracy, reliability, and efficiency of the obtained results. © 2023, The Author(s).

We explore the use of a mobile furniture swarm that are intended to assist users with limited mobility in their daily indoor activities. We focus on the multi-robot coordination problem when a dense target pose configuration is required, such as in an apartment setting. In those cases, the convergence of one robot to the target can be significantly affected by neighboring robots with specific shapes. In this letter, we propose a solution, named Velocity Potential Field Modulation (VPFM), to deal with the dense coordination problem of a polytopic swarm in a decentralized manner. We adapt our method to assistive applications, such as room reconfigurations and facilitating indoor movement of wheelchair users. We evaluate the performance of our method in simulations and on real-world mobile furniture hardware, demonstrating its effectiveness and real-time performance. © 2016 IEEE.

With the gradual development in industrialization, the advent of computer and information technology has evolved in the field of engineering and construction industry. BIM technology has become a valuable part of prefabricated concrete engineering with the advancement of modern technology based on 3D modeling simulation. In order to realize the industrialization and automation of prefabricated concrete structures, this paper analyzes the characteristics of fabricated concrete structure and BIM, combining the two techniques. This work applies BIM to fabricated concrete design and chooses finite element analysis and calculation software ETABS to analyze the structure model. The results show that the mass participation ratio of the model studied in this paper reaches more than 90%, the interlayer displacement angle is less than 1/550, and the modal and shell internal force analysis results meet the requirements. In this paper, modal analysis, shell internal force analysis under live load and structural dynamic analysis under response spectrum load conditions were carried out on the ETABS model converted from the Revit model and the model directly established by ETABS. The ETABS model converted from the Revit model by the data interface plug-in can be used for structural analysis. © 2023, CAD Solutions, LLC. All rights reserved.

Android devices have evolved to offer a diverse array of services, spanning applications related to banking, business, health, and entertainment. The widespread adoption of Android devices, coupled with the open-source architecture of the Android operating system, has rendered them a prime target for malicious actors. Among the most perilous threats are Android botnets, which enable malicious actors, often referred to as botmasters, to exert remote control for the execution of destructive attacks. Android botnets have huge potential to be an emerging threat to mobile device security. In this paper, we focus on detecting evolving Android botnets and introduce a new dataset of 3458 apps, represented by 455 permission-based features. We propose an improved multilayer perceptron neural network for zero-day botnet detection. Our methodology, in this way, achieves an accuracy of 98.5%, thus outperforming traditional classifiers. It has a lot of functionality and is based on the neural network approach, making it able to identify slight botnet behaviours in order to improve Android security. © The Author(s) 2024.

Sudden cardiac death events and fatal cardiac problems are a field of vital importance for physicians working with elite athletes. For this reason, it is common to periodically perform cardiac monitoring with professional ECG devices to detect certain risk markers. As these doctors often work with many athletes (as is the case with professional football teams), an artificial intelligence-based system would help mass screening and allow these exams to be carried out more regularly. Because physicians often evaluate the printed reports generated by ECG devices, few manufacturers provide powerful and configurable software tools. Moreover, for teaching purposes, a simulation tool that would allow working with previously collected ECG files would be very useful. In this paper, we present a software tool to be used with General Electric CardioSoft 12SL electrocardiograph. This tool allows importing the XML files generated by this device, perform a manual or automatic signal filtering process and PQRST peak detection, and finally generate a customisable report as a CSV file containing the features obtained after signal analysis. This pre-processed information can be used as input of ECG simulators and in artificial intelligence systems to develop diagnostic support systems. © ICST Institute for computer sciences, Social Informatics and Telecommunications Engineering 2024.
