This paper presents the design and implementation of an intelligent warehouse management system. The main emphasis in our solution consists of three software components: An Xamarin IOT application which acts as the exchange interface with the end users, a web application that communicates with a database and ensures the persistence and communication between the different components of the system, and a robot that moves products in the warehouse according to storage and shipping requests. Our solution is designed to allow the various actors to have real-time information on the different workflows within the warehouse and all the movements of stock. Hence the need for a system that controls all zones and locations and ensures communication between the various actors and software components while optimizing data exchange and load consumption for IOT equipment. © 2020 IEEE.

Deep neural networks (DNNs) have demonstrated exceptional performance, leading to diverse applications across various mobile devices (MDs). Considering factors like portability and environmental sustainability, an increasing number of MDs are adopting energy harvesting (EH) techniques for power supply. However, the computational intensity of DNNs presents significant challenges for their deployment on these resource-constrained devices. Existing approaches often employ DNN partition or offloading to mitigate the time and energy consumption associated with running DNNs on MDs. Nonetheless, existing methods frequently fall short in accurately modeling the execution time of DNNs, and do not consider to use thread allocation for further latency and energy consumption optimization. To solve these problems, we propose a dynamic DNN partition and thread allocation method to optimize the latency and energy consumption of running DNNs on EH-enabled MDs. Specifically, we first investigate the relationship between DNN inference latency and allocated threads and establish an accurate DNN latency prediction model. Based on the prediction model, a DRL-based DNN partition (DDP) algorithm is designed to find the optimal partitions for DNNs. A thread allocation (TA) algorithm is proposed to reduce the inference latency. Experimental results from our test-bed platform demonstrate that compared to four benchmarking methods, our scheme can reduce DNN inference latency and energy consumption by up to 37.3% and 38.5%.

Reusing existing class libraries can improve the productivity of software development. API usage patterns are useful resources for programmers in reusing class libraries. Existing approaches often exploit API graphs to model semantic relations between API elements of class libraries, and traversal graphs to capture API usage patterns. However, those approaches cannot describe the number of parameters and the number of overload methods, and may not search for various API usage patterns. In this paper, we propose an automatic and complete approach to searching for API usage patterns by model checking technique. We introduce a novel kind of API transition system model to completely describe the relations between all API elements of existing class libraries. We obtain API usage constraints from queries, namely the numbers and types of input and output objects and class types transformed based on APIs replacement model, and give the logical characterizations of the constraints by suitable CTL* (computation tree logic) formulas. Then, we can obtain suitable API usage patterns by model checking the logical formulas in related API transition system models based on model checker NuSMV. The experiments indicate that, in contrast to existing approaches, our approach can automatically and effectively search for various API usage patterns. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Prescribed-Time Synchronization of Multiweighted and Directed Complex Networks

In this note, we study the prescribed-time (PT) synchronization of multiweighted and directed complex networks (MWDCNs) via pinning control. Unlike finite-time and fixed-time synchronization, the time for synchronization can be preset as needed, which is independent of initial values and parameters like coupling strength. First and foremost, we reveal the essence of PT stability by improper integral, L'Hospital rule and Taylor expansion theory. Many controllers established previously for PT stability can be included in our new model. Then, we apply this new result on MWDCNs as an application. The synchronization error at the prescribed time is discussed carefully, so, PT synchronization can be reached. The network topology can be directed and disconnected, which means that the outer coupling matrices (OCMs) can be asymmetric and not connected. The relationships between nodes are allowed to be cooperative or competitive, so elements in OCMs and inner coupling matrices (ICMs) can be positive or negative. We use the rearranging variables' order technique to combine ICMs and OCMs together to get the sum matrices, which can make a bridge between multiweighted and single-weighted networks. Remote State Estimation for Complex Networks Under Probabilistic Bit Flips: A Transmission Power Allocation Scheme

In this paper, the problem of remote state estimation is investigated for a class of complex networks with noisy wireless communication channels. The employment of the binary encoding scheme allows for the description of the influence of channel noises as probabilistic bit flips, where the probability of these bit flips is influenced by several factors with the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) being a crucial one. In engineering practice, the method of adjusting the transmission power for each node in a complex network is commonly applied to modify the SNR so as to reduce the data distortion caused by bit flips. Furthermore, due to restricted communication resources, the total available transmission power is often limited particularly in large-scale systems such as complex networks. Consequently, the allocation of transmission power for all nodes under a total transmission power constraint becomes a concern. Utilizing the ultimately bounded filtering method, we devise a transmission-power-dependent state estimator, by which the combined effect of probabilistic bit flips and transmission power allocation on estimation performance is analyzed. Moreover, the task of co-designing the transmission power allocation scheme and estimator gains is modeled as an optimization problem, which is then addressed through a two-step optimization strategy. The existence of a unique optimal transmission power allocation scheme is also proven. Finally, numerical simulation examples are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed co-design approach. © 1963-2012 IEEE.

GLC++: Source-Free Universal Domain Adaptation through Global-Local Clustering and Contrastive Affinity Learning

Deep neural networks often exhibit sub-optimal performance under covariate and category shifts. Source-Free Domain Adaptation (SFDA) presents a promising solution to this dilemma, yet most SFDA approaches are restricted to closed-set scenarios. In this paper, we explore Source-Free Universal Domain Adaptation (SF-UniDA) aiming to accurately classify "known" data belonging to common categories and segregate them from target-private "unknown" data. We propose a novel Global and Local Clustering (GLC) technique, which comprises an adaptive one-vs-all global clustering algorithm to discern between target classes, complemented by a local k-NN clustering strategy to mitigate negative transfer. Despite the effectiveness, the inherent closed-set source architecture leads to uniform treatment of "unknown" data, impeding the identification of distinct "unknown" categories. To address this, we evolve GLC to GLC++, integrating a contrastive affinity learning strategy. We examine the superiority of GLC and GLC++ across multiple benchmarks and category shift scenarios. Remarkably, in the most challenging open-partial-set scenarios, GLC and GLC++ surpass GATE by 16.7% and 18.6% in H-score on VisDA, respectively. GLC++ enhances the novel category clustering accuracy of GLC by 4.3% in open-set scenarios on Office-Home. Furthermore, the introduced contrastive learning strategy not only enhances GLC but also significantly facilitates existing methodologies. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Multi-modal Large Language Model Enhanced Pseudo 3D Perception Framework for Visual Commonsense Reasoning

The visual commonsense reasoning (VCR) task is to choose an answer and provide a justifying rationale based on the given image and textural question. Representative works first recognize objects in images and then associate them with key words in texts. However, existing approaches do not consider exact positions of objects in a human-like three-dimensional (3D) manner, making them incompetent to accurately distinguish objects and understand visual relation. Recently, multi-modal large language models (MLLMs) have been used as powerful tools for several multi-modal tasks but not for VCR yet, which requires elaborate reasoning on specific visual objects referred by texts. In light of the above, an MLLM enhanced pseudo 3D perception framework is designed for VCR. Specifically, we first demonstrate that the relation between objects is relevant to object depths in images, and hence introduce object depth into VCR frameworks to infer 3D positions of objects in images. Then, a depth-aware Transformer is proposed to encode depth differences between objects into the attention mechanism of Transformer to discriminatively associate objects with visual scenes guided by depth. To further associate the answer with the depth of visual scene, each word in the answer is tagged with a pseudo depth to realize depth-aware association between answer words and objects. On the other hand, BLIP-2 as an MLLM is employed to process images and texts, and the referring expressions in texts involving specific visual objects are modified with linguistic object labels to serve as comprehensible MLLM inputs. Finally, a parameter optimization technique is devised to fully consider the quality of data batches based on multi-level reasoning confidence. Efficiently deploying neural network models on heterogeneous edge systems faces unique challenges. Two major issues are underutilized pipelines caused by hardware heterogeneity and explosive growth of architecture search space. To address these challenges, we propose ExpoNAS, a framework enabling fast deployment-oriented neural architecture search on heterogeneous platforms. ExpoNAS evaluates model partitioning and deployability before search to meet accuracy and latency constraints. However, repeated partitioning leads to exponential growth in architecture search space. We first observe a strong correlation between operational exposure and accuracy improvement, and then we propose an exposure-based reduction technique that excludes the operations of low exposure. By removing these non-critical operations, the exposure-based pruning successfully reduces architecture search time. Our experiments on popular datasets show that the ExpoNAS pipelined design improves execution efficiency by a factor of 2 compared to traditional batch processing. Without compromising accuracy, ExpoNAS is able to reduce the architecture search time by 47.5% for discovering high-accuracy networks, compared to the SOTA NAS strategies. © 2023 IEEE.
