Advancement in computer system hardware makes it difficult to meet the demands of teaching computer architecture and organization. Visualization of different architectures enhances the learning process among students by using simulators. Rather making a comprehensive simulator that can cater the requirement for the course, freely available simulators can serve the purpose as they can save time resource, ease of use, capacity to learn the concepts to fullest, can be accessed anywhere and anytime by the students. Finding the appropriate simulator for the course is a difficult task. This paper discusses about the simulators that can be used for the course computer Architecture and Organization which can help instructors in making students able to grasp the knowledge delivered in lectures.

The energy consumed in cluster head (CH) selection phase of a random cluster based wireless sensor network (WSN) has been assumed as an insignificant factor in the previous research works. In this paper, the consumption of energy during the transmission of data from sensor nodes to the sink has been calculated. Through extensive simulations it has been shown that 20% of the network's total consumed energy is exhausted in the random CH selection phase only. This energy consumption can be taken as an overhead energy. To overcome the overhead energy, an energy efficient “Round Rotation” (RR) mechanism has been proposed. By implementing the RR mechanism with random CH selection phase, the over head energy has been reduced to 4% of the total network energy consumed in data transmissions. This has consequently affected the network lifetime which has been augmented by 20%. Keywords-WSN; CH selection phase; overhead energy; efficient energy; Round Rotation method.

The paper focuses on developing the understanding the operation and effectiveness of quality management systems and why companies are also committed to the needs of ISO9001:2000. A survey was conducted on Searle Pakistan limited registered with ISO 9001:2000 to evaluate the head office unit and factory units of the company to know how effective ISO9001:2000 standard to meet customer requirement which enhance to customer satisfaction. This paper attempts to give a survey on the following simulators (1) Electrical Numerical Integrator and computer (ENIAC) was the first electronic digital universal computer built at Pennsylvania university in 1944-1946., (2) The Visible Virtual Machine (VVM) based on Little Man computer (LMC) which is general for von Newmann computer architecture, (3) MARS an Education-Oriented MIPS Assembly Language Simulator, (4) Logisim for simulating digital logic circuits and (5) SPIM for MIPS Assembly Language Simulator that are going to be taught in the course computer Architecture and Organization by the faculty members. Vehicle detection and classification of vehicles play an important role in decision making for the purpose of traffic control and management. We propose a novel and efficient algorithm based on image processing using vertically positioned camera for vehicle detection and classification according to their size. The algorithm is based on different techniques including image differencing, thresholding, edge detection and binary morphological process. Experiments are carried out over a wide range of vehicles, road segments and camera positions. A success rate of around 85% is achieved in both vehicle detection and classification.

In this paper, the proposed methodology calculates the distance between two nodes in Wireless Sensor Network for localization purpose. The methodology is a variant of Time of Arrival (TOA) methodology. The simulations are done in Matlab using Ultra wide band spectrum and Gaussian monocycle pulses. The measured distances are compared with set distances and mean square errors are calculated. Finally, the set distance and measured distances are compared for various transmission frequencies within UWB spectrum.

Network professionals use IOS to configure networks and troubleshoot internet work operations. Routers and switches are now come with built in Internet work Operating System (IOS). These IOS provides command level interface to network engineers to troubleshoot and manage working of these devices .The most critical aspect of managing a good network is to keep all the critical devices up and running with minimum downtime. Efficient evaluation of ventilation inhomogeneity in lungs depend upon repetitive lungs performance measurements of variations in ventilation distribution. These measurements could be employed to equip mechanical ventilators with adaptive capabilities and automate ventilation mode adjustments. In this study, characterization and quantification of ventilation inhomogeneity of lungs of severely sick patients being treated on ventilators in intensive care unit (ICU) have been performed by developing a Graphical User Interface (GUI) based software tool on MATLAB for Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT) image processing. Preliminary investigations have been performed to control ventilator by characterizing exact lung performance which prevent alveolar over-distension and cyclic atelectasis, the major causes of ventilator induced lung injury. A huge amount of data from various patients with large span time is evaluated to analyze respective lung performance. The behavior of different regions of lungs has been examined by investigating the pixels of lung image. The global graph pixel of healthy EIT image representing standard maneuver, is compared with pixels which represents diseased lung's tiny regions.
