Three new algorithms based on minimization of autocorrelation of transmitted symbols and the SLM approach which are computationally less demanding have been proposed. In the first algorithm, autocorrelation of complex data sequence is minimized to a value of 1 that results in reduction of PAPR. Second algorithm generates multiple random sequences from the sequence generated in the first algorithm with same value of autocorrelation i.e. 1. Out of these, the sequence with minimum PAPR is transmitted. Third algorithm is an extension of the second algorithm and requires minimum side information to be transmitted. Multiple sequences are generated by modifying a fixed number of complex numbers in an OFDM data sequence using only one factor. The multiple sequences represent the same data sequence and the one giving minimum PAPR is transmitted. Simulation results for a 256 subcarrier OFDM system show that significant reduction in PAPR is achieved using the proposed algorithms.

This model is used to analyzes the past financial statements of a company and it shows effectiveness of the company's share. On behalf of the results the user can take decisions for future investment in that company. This model uses ratio analysis for analyzing the financial statements.

Vehicle detection and classification of vehicles play an important role in decision making for the purpose of traffic control and management. In this paper we propose a novel and efficient algorithm based on image processing using aerial cameras for vehicle detection and classification especially in highways. The algorithm is mainly based on a sequence of morphological methods being applied on an image taken by an aerial camera of a road segment. The algorithm also uses thresholding and edge detection techniques for vehicle detection. Experiments are carried out over a wide range of vehicles, road segments and camera heights. A success rate of more than 85% and proper vehicle classification is achieved.

The IEEE 802.11e which is an enhanced version of the 802.11 WLAN standards incorporates the Quality of Service (QoS) which makes it a better choice for multimedia and real time applications. In this paper we study various aspects concerned with 802.11e standard. Further, the analysis results for this standard are compared with the legacy 802.11 standard. Simulation results show that IEEE 802.11e out performs legacy IEEE 802.11 in terms of quality of service due to its flow differentiated channel allocation and better queue management architecture. We also propose a method to improve the unfair allocation of bandwidth for downlink and uplink channels by varying the medium access priority level.

The objective here is to develop a home automation and security system which can be controlled and monitored remotely using any telephone line. The user can enter into the system by entering the valid pin code. After entering into the system, the user can control the status of devices connected with the system using any Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN). The system can also be implemented for security purposes in banks or at home. If the user is at outstation, he can change the status of the lights remotely for security reasons. The heart ofthe system is a PIC micro-controller (PICI8F4520) which controls the complete working of the system. The GSM modem is also interfaced with the micro-controller. The remote user can also monitor the current status of the devices by sending SMS message to the GSM modem. The system can be controlled and monitored from anywhere by using telephone line.

The objective here is to implement the discrete PID on pendulum. The idea is to balance an Inverted pendulum electro-mechanically using Proportional Integral Differential (PID) Control. The heart of the system is a PIC microcontroller (PICI8F4520). Controller commands the motor through PWM signal, which drives the cart to balance the pendulum in an inverted position. Pendulum's angular position is fed back by an incremental encoder mounted on its base, which is read by controller. Controller then calculates error and runs the PID algorithm to generate a new command signal. The exact position of pendulum with the value of its gains are sent to the attached Personal computer (PC) using RS-232 protocol. The front panel is built in LabVIEW software.

The objective here is to develop a flat surface area measuring system which is used to calculate the surface area of any irregular sheet. The irregular leather sheet is used in this work. The system is self protected by user name and password set through software for security purpose. Only authorize user can enter into the system by entering the valid pin code. After entering into the system, the user can measure the area of any irregular sheet, monitor and control the system. The heart of the system is Programmable Logic Controller (Master K80S) which controls the complete working of the system. The controlling instructions for the system are given through the designed Human to Machine Interface (HMI). For communication purpose the GSM modem is also interfaced with the Programmable Logic Controller (PLC). The remote user can also monitor the current status of the devices by sending SMS message to the GSM modem.

In modern mobile communication systems higher bandwidths are required by users. But higher bandwidths mean, that in Frequency Division Duplex (FDD) standard where uplink and downlink is separated, the receive band has to be protected against the transmit band. Violation of the receiver is caused by distortion coming from the transmitter, which is insufficiently suppressed by Transmit (TX) duplex filter in the receive (RX) band. Another type of distortion is called passive intermodulation (PIM). Reason for this is material nonlinearity and contact nonlinearity. The aim of this paper is to find a mathematical description of the passive nonlinearities and to reduce them in the digital baseband of the receiver. Two modeling techniques namely linear and nonlinear, the underlying algorithm and implementation of this algorithm on Gaussian Minimum Shift Keying (GMSK) modulated signals have been discussed and the results are presented. Firstly a brief introduction to intermodulation distortion is provided, followed by an overview of the hardware setup so that the reader can get acquainted to the hardware configuration used. An overview of the algorithm, which is the essence and underlying concept for intermodulation distortion suppression, is discussed, and finally implementation of this algorithm on GMSK signals along with its results is presented.
