TO EVALUATE THE PERFORMANCE OF MOLTEN SALT COOLANTS IN PARABOLIC TROUGH COLLECTORS (PTCs)

Renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, hydro, and geothermal are potential energy sources with the capacity to mitigate environmental impacts. Parabolic trough collectors (PTCs) are the widely used application of solar energy. Molten salts are promising high-temperature, low-pressure coolants for thermal energy storage of concentrated solar power plants. The present novel work is aimed to develop a computational fluid dynamics (CFD) methodology for candidate molten salt coolants (FLiBe, Nafzirf, FliNaK, and NaNO3-NaNO2-KNO3) to compare their thermal hydraulic characteristics in terms of friction factor and Nusselt number distribution for a simple circular tube under turbulent flow conditions. This study is necessary for the thermal-hydraulic design of PTCs. The axial distributions of friction factor and Nusselt number of FliNaK, FLiBe, Nafzirf, and NaNO3 NaNO2-KNO3 salts in a simple circular tube under Reynolds number range of 20,000–100,000 have been compared. The predicted friction factor (f∞), Nusselt number (Nu∞), and hydrodynamic entrance length (LH) have been compared with available correlations for fully developed conditions. Blasius and Petukhov correlations adequately guessed the predicted f∞ of salts, whereas the Gneilinski correlation is found to be in close agreement with the predicted Nu∞ of salts, hence validating the proposed numerical scheme for investigating thermal-hydraulic characteristics of molten salts. NaNO3-NaNO2-KNO3 seems to be the potential candidate with high values of thermal efficiency for solar applications. © 2025 by Begell House, Inc.

The Wireless Sensor Network(WSN)is a network that is constructed in regions that are inaccessible to human *** widespread deployment of wireless micro sensors will make it possible to conduct accurate environmental monitoring for a use in both civil and military *** make use of these data to monitor and keep track of the physical data of the surrounding environment in order to ensure the sustainability of the *** data have to be picked up by the sensor,and then sent to the sink node where they may be *** nodes of the WSNs are powered by batteries,therefore they eventually run out of *** energy restriction has an effect on the network life span and environmental *** objective of this study is to further improve the Engroove Leach(EL)protocol’s energy efficiency so that the network can operate for a very long time while consuming the least amount of *** lifespan of WSNs is being extended often using clustering and routing *** Meta Inspired Hawks Fragment Optimization(MIHFO)system,which is based on passive clustering,is used in this study to do *** cluster head is chosen based on the nodes’residual energy,distance to neighbors,distance to base station,node degree,and node *** on distance,residual energy,and node degree,an algorithm known as Heuristic Wing Antfly Optimization(HWAFO)selects the optimum path between the cluster head and Base Station(BS).They examine the number of nodes that are active,their energy consumption,and the number of data packets that the BS *** overall experimentation is carried out under the MATLAB *** the analysis,it has been discovered that the suggested approach yields noticeably superior outcomes in terms of throughput,packet delivery and drop ratio,and average energy consumption.

The extensive research initiative focuses on the application of MobileNet techniques for identifying Heart diseases through the examination of electrocardiogram (ECG) images. Given the critical importance of accurate and timely diagnosis in cardiac health, this project explores state-of-the-art computational techniques. By leveraging a carefully curated dataset containing ECG images from individuals with various cardiac conditions, a sophisticated Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model is developed. The performance metrics highlight not only the effectiveness of the proposed approach but also its ability to classify four major cardiac irregularities, such as irregular heart rhythm, heart attack, past occurrences of myocardial infarction, and instances categorized as normal. Furthermore, the study investigates the potential of the CNN model for feature extraction, demonstrating exceptional results with a 98.79% score when combined with the Naive Bayes (NB) algorithm. Beyond technological achievements, this research contributes to the field of medical image analysis by exploring the fusion of deep learning and traditional machine learning methods for improved accuracy. The findings presented here drive advancements in automated cardiovascular disease diagnosis and offer promise for enhanced early detection strategies and interventions, ultimately leading to better patient outcomes and advancements in cardiac healthcare. © 2024 IEEE.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) in UAV control Unmanned aerial vehicles are being employed in numerous industries for a wide range of functions, and demand for them has been rising exponentially in recent years. The potential of these technologies increases with the addition of artificial intelligence. Although artificial intelligence has many advantages, it can also make operating unmanned aircraft more straightforward and effective. Drones with artificial intelligence need a lot more computational power and energy. The analysis of artificial intelligence's entry into unmanned aerial vehicle control is the main subject of this paper. A comparative examination of research works on artificial intelligence and unmanned aerial vehicle control is presented in this paper. Monitoring artificial intelligence powered autonomous drone for military security and disaster management the work presents unique modeling techniques that are highly effective in identifying, tracing, controlling, and coordinating drones in an environment where terrorist group operations are highly prevalent. In the modern workplace, people need to imitate their environment to increase comfort and efficiency. The capacity to replicate an individual's daily tasks has advanced significantly. Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya-type spin-spin interaction from mixed-parity superconductivity

Interacting impurity spins adsorbed on surfaces have been suggested as basic components for applications in quantum computation and spintronics. Such spins usually prefer a parallel or antiparallel configuration, but weakly noncollinear alignments are possible due to the Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction (DMI) that arises in the presence of relativistic spin-orbit coupling. Here, we show that an effective Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya-type interaction (DMTI) can emerge purely from superconducting correlations without any spin-orbit interaction. We give an analytical proof and provide a numerical study which shows that DMTI arises in mixed-parity superconductors solely from the superconducting pairing. Moreover, we show that the same effect can be realized in Josephson junctions between s-wave and p-wave superconductors, where a phase bias toggles the DMTI entirely on and off. These results enable a way to engineer spin textures using superconducting order.

EXAMINING THE ECO-FRIENDLY ASPECTS OF ETHANOL–METHANOL BLENDED GASOLINE ON ENGINE PERFORMANCE AND EMISSIONS

The increasing global demand for energy, environmental concerns, and the limited availability of energy resources have heightened interest in alternative fuels for internal combustion engines. In this context, internal combustion engines like gasoline engines play a significant role in the search for environmentally friendly and sustainable energy sources. Alcohols are among the most used alternative fuels in spark-ignition engines. This study examines the feasibility of using ethanol and methanol alcohols as fuels simultaneously in a gasoline engine. The research investigates the effects of blending 10% ethanol and 10% methanol alternative fuels with gasoline and using the resulting blended fuel as the engine’s fuel source on motor performance and exhaust emissions. The study was conducted under throttle wide-open conditions at different engine speeds. The results revealed a maximum decrease of 1.3% in effective power. Significant reductions in hydrocarbon and nitrogen oxide emissions were observed at all engine speeds, with maximum reductions of 18% and 19%, respectively. Furthermore, a decrease in carbon monoxide emissions is evident across the entire spectrum of engine speeds, under-scoring the potential of ethanol–methanol blended gasoline to contribute to a reduced carbon footprint in the transportation sector. As a result of the study, in the case of using ethanol and methanol in engines, both the higher oxygen content of alcohols and their high evaporation energy due to their cooling effect cause an improvement in the emission values emitted from the engine without significant deterioration in engine performance parameters. © 2025 by Begell House, Inc.

The application of solar energy in many sectors is becoming popular due to the global commitment towards the UN's SDGs. Domestic solar water heaters (SWH) have been increasingly adopted instead of conventional systems to meet the daily hot water needs of dwellings. Since it accounts for more than 20 percent of household electricity costs, a location-based study on its energy, economic, and environmental advantages must be essential to convincing households to implement it effectively in any country. This study examines the energy conservation and levelized cost of energy (LCOE) in a sample of households from 10 distinct locations in Oman. The analysis focuses on houses with a daily hot water requirement of 200 liters. An assessment was conducted to determine how the production of hot water changes in response to solar radiation over the course of a year. Additionally, the anticipated yearly savings in energy costs and the corresponding reduction in CO2 emissions were estimated. The system advisor model (SAM) developed by the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in the United States was used to optimize the system and analyze several performance and economic aspects based on location-specific weather data. © 2024 IEEE.
