Cardiovascular diseases (CVD) are the leading cause of death globally and are estimated to affect 17. 9 million deaths annually. Early diagnosis is very important if one is to prevent adverse consequences. However, traditional diagnostic methods can take time to complete and miss subtle trends in patient information. This research presents an innovative approach utilizing a Recurrent Neural Network (RNN) model, optimized through Stochastic Gradient Descent (SGD), for the prediction of seven distinct types of heart disease: CAD, Heart Failure, AFib, Hypertensive Heart Disease, Congenital Heart Disease, Cardiomyopathy, and PAD. Their architecture is specifically suited for direct modeling of sequential patterns of the health related data that in turn helps to detect temporal patterns and changes in them. This model use ReLU activation function in their hidden layers, dropout in preventing overfitting and batch normalization for stable learning. Moreover, the feature augmentation is used in the model making it use various psychological and physiological parameters that help in making comprehensive predictions on the risks of heart disease. After training the RNN with a Kaggle dataset and properly tuning it, the model obtained an accuracy level of 91%, which means that is highly useful in identifying risk factors of cardiovascular diseases and could be used for early diagnosis and risk factors identification. © 2024 IEEE.

CycleGAN, a significant deep learning model, has transformed medical imaging by providing a remedy for translating MRI images between different modalities. Its ability to transform T1-weighted to T2-weighted images is crucial in healthcare environments where obtaining multiple scans can be time-consuming and burdensome for patients. This can be achieved by utilizing CycleGAN, which generates images that contains vital information that will help the healthcare professionals to diagnose the patient without exposing them to further radiations. This unleashes an effective and safer way of diagnosing patients. The adaptability of CycleGAN also allows scalability and the ability to customize it for different types of medical images, where scanning can be achieved with less exposure to radiation, without loosing or compromising any important information. © 2024 IEEE.

In the landscape of rapidly expanding data streams, deriving meaningful insights, particularly frequent itemsets, within massive datasets at a swift pace poses a significant challenge. Addressing this challenge, various methodologies for Frequent Itemset Mining have been proposed, yet they struggle with low support counts and efficiency concerns in handling large datasets. In response, our research introduces Jagged Itemset Counting (JIC) methodologies, aiming to effectively mine Frequent Itemsets from extensive data. The core objective revolves around devising a robust algorithm capable of identifying all Frequent Itemsets, irrespective of database size or the nature of the itemset. Central to this approach is the introduction of a straightforward label representation, GPLN (Geometric Progression Label Number), assigned to each frequent item. Utilizing CGPLN (Cumulative Geometric Progression Label Number), derived from the arithmetic sum of GPLNs within transaction subsets, forms the CGPLN-Label representation for each transaction subset (itemset). Comparative analysis reveals superior performance of JIC over Apriori and Eclat algorithms for small and medium-sized datasets, exhibiting efficiency even at minimal support thresholds. In the realm of Big Data, where FP-Growth and Eclat falter, the proposed technique shines with faster execution times, optimized main memory utilization, and efficient disc memory usage. © 2024 IEEE.

A bacterial or viral infection of the lungs can cause pneumonia, one of the dangerous and potentially fatal illnesses that can have dire repercussions in a short amount of time. Therefore, a key component of a successful treatment plan is an early diagnosis. Therefore, a sophisticated and automated system that can diagnose chest X-rays and make the process of diagnosing pneumonia easier for both specialists and novices is required. This research aims to create a CNN model that will help with the accurate classification of pneumonia. In this work, we have presented our Deep Learning method for the classification challenge, which is taught using modified images through several pre-processing stages. With an overall accuracy of 93.30%, we were able to classify X-ray images of pneumonia using a custom CNN model. Our proposed model is able to precisely detect pneumonia from X-ray images with amazing accuracy and loss. Furthermore, we employed the LIME and SHAP tools of the XAI technique to generate a noteworthy conclusion to persuade medical practitioners. © 2024 IEEE.

The Musical Metaverse (MM) represents an innovative frontier for the field of New Interfaces for Musical Expression (NIME). The MM holds the potential to redefine areas such as musical composition and performance via immersive environments based on technologically mediated social interactions. Despite substantial research on single-user immersive systems, the intersection of NIME and the MM remains largely unexplored. In this paper, we systematically explore this domain by examining previous and current approaches, alongside conducting interviews with eleven experts who have created multi-user immersive musical environments and authored publications on this topic. The goal is to map such an uncharted territory by collecting valuable insights and leveraging the perspective of experts to provide an understanding of the potentials and challenges inherent in creating immersive social environments for musical activities. Our results reveal that existing multi-user immersive environments make use of diverse implementation approaches but face challenges due to the absence of standardized technology stacks, particularly in networking and data synchronization. © 2024, International Conference on New Interfaces for Musical Expression. Many species around the globe heavily depend on flowers, and even the use of flowers for medical purposes is enormous, which has been in practice since ancient times. In modern botany, agronomy, and species research, the identification and classification of flowers mainly depend on human intervention, which requires a lot of human resources, and the recognition accuracy rate is low. On the other hand, due to the vast number of flowers with different types, it is quite a challenge and increases the complexity of the accurate detection and classification process. Moreover, the traditional CNN model and other pre-trained models like- VGG16, VGG19, Xception, and MobileNet-V2 failed to ensure high validation accuracy. In this research, we have designed an ensemble-based deep learning model consisting of two pre-trained models DenseNet-201 and EfficientNet-B7, which we renamed 'FlowerConvNet'. This paper considers classifying five categories of flowers consisting of 4242 images, collected from the Kaggle flower recognition dataset. In this research study, the proposed deep learning model FlowerConvNet using transfer learning can obtain a competitive result with 95% validation accuracy. © 2023 IEEE.

Lexical resemblances among a group of languages indicate that the languages could be genetically related, i.e., they could have descended from a common ancestral language. However, such resemblances can arise by chance and, hence, need not always imply an underlying genetic relationship. Many tests of significance based on permutation of wordlists and word similarity measures appeared in the past to determine the statistical significance of such relationships. We demonstrate that although existing tests may work well for bilateral comparisons, i.e., on pairs of languages, they are either infeasible by design or are prone to yield false positives when applied to groups of languages or language families. To this end, inspired by molecular phylogenetics, we propose a likelihood ratio test to determine if given languages are related based on the proportion of invariant character sites in the aligned wordlists applied during tree inference. Further, we evaluate some language families and show that the proposed test solves the problem of false positives. Finally, we demonstrate that the test supports the existence of macro language families such as Nostratic and Macro-Mayan. © 2024 Association for Computational Linguistics.

Starting rescue operations quickly after an earth-quake is the best way to save lives in such disasters. In the case of large-scale earthquakes, current post-earthquake response systems cannot determine which building or rescue route would save the most lives due to the lack of real-time data availability. Research gaps include a lack of automation in earthquake damage assessment of buildings, location identification, and estimation of the number of trapped people. To fill these gaps, this article proposed an innovative solution using advanced sensors and cloud services for post-earthquake rescue route planning systems. This system aims to improve rescue operations to save the maximum number of lives in the shortest time and minimize impacts by optimizing resource allocation and overall response efficiency. By filling the existing research gap, our system seeks to provide more responsive and effective solutions to post-earthquake emergencies. Tested in a simulated environment with 16 samples, our system successfully collects and processes data from IoT devices deployed in buildings, classifies structural damage, and estimates the number of people affected. Our approach significantly reduces the time required to initiate rescue operations by providing rescuers with optimized routes to disaster sites, which has potential implications for disaster management strategies. © 2024 IEEE.

The number of reported instances of cyber abuse has also increased in tandem with the growth in the quantity of people that are regularly using the internet. Users' online freedom and privacy are jeopardized by such occurrences. Traditionally, the removal of such content from the internet has been accomplished through manual moderation and reporting systems. This strategy has, however, certain drawbacks, such as a reliance on people, longer delays, and less privacy for data. Traditional recurrent sequence models and supervised machine learning have been used in previous attempts to automate this procedure, but they have a tendency to perform badly on non-English material. A versatile solution that can handle multilingual text is urgently needed, given the increasing diversity of consumers using the internet. Moreover, translations frequently lose important context and emotion from content written in vernacular languages. In this work, we offer a generative deep learning based method for the detection of cyber abuse throughout Hindi, English with mixed codes, and Hindi text. The method uses bidirectional transformer-based BERT *** the TRAC-1 standard aggressiveness identification task, the suggested architecture can get extremely positive outcomes on the task leaderboard for English and accomplish cutting-edge performance on the Hindi dataset with mixed codes. The outcomes show that the new strategy is superior to the current ones because they were obtained without the need of numerous models or ensemble-based methods. Effective models that utilize deep learning techniques to analyze multilingual text can process a wider variety of inputs, making them indispensable in combating these types of social ills. © 2024 IEEE.

According to the latest information from WHO, the World Health Organization, heart disease remains a major global health challenge, resulting in millions of deaths each year. Heart disease presents in various forms, including Hypertensive Heart Disease, Congestive Heart Failure (CHF), Coronary Artery Disease, Cardiomyopathy, and Arrhythmia. Accurate classification of these conditions is crucial for reducing mortality rates and improving patient outcomes. This study utilizes an enhanced Random Forest classifier to improve the accuracy of heart disease classification. The Synthetic Minority Oversampling Technique (SMOTE) was utilized to rectify the disparities in class. and Polynomial Feature engineering was employed to capture complex interactions within the data. The dataset underwent comprehensive preprocessing, including feature normalization and label encoding, followed by extensive hyperparameter tuning using GridSearchCV. The optimized model achieved a high accuracy of 92% and a Mean Squared Error (MSE) of 0.05. Key performance indicators, including an F1 score of 0.87, recall of 0.88, and accuracy of 0.92, highlight the model's efficacy in differentiating between various forms of heart disease. Future research could explore incorporating additional clinical data to further enhance the model's accuracy and applicability across diverse patient populations. © 2024 IEEE.
