Automated Number Plate Recognition is one of the most important applications of computer vision, employed in the enforcement of traffic law, vehicular management, security, and even at toll collection. This paper proposed an advanced system for ANPR that can move away from the traditional booth and establish a checkpoint. The strategically located cameras with checkpointing will automatically capture the plates of passing vehicles, permitting road tax and parking fees to be deducted without making contact. A hybrid approach that combines the capabilities of OpenCV, Tesseract OCR, and deep-learningbased OCR models helps tackle such challenges as stable images from live video feeds and highly accurate text recognition. To this end, since the system integrates high-resolution frame stabilization using OpenCV to ensure crystal clear captures, it further employs the use of YOLOv8 to boost the precision of real-time detection. The blockchain technology is further implemented to ensure that transactions are tamper proof, therefore ensuring secure and transparent billing systems. This makes the ANPR solution deployable on edge devices, which opens real-time processing capabilities for high-speed and high-volume environments, thereby offering a scalable and efficient approach for intelligent transportation and smart city applications.

Code smells frequently leads to the discovery of decreased code quality, drains on application resources, or even critical security vulnerabilities embedded within the application's code. While code smells may not always indicate a particularly serious problem, it do often lead to the discovery of these issues. Software's structural characteristics lead to a design issue that makes it challenging to manage and maintain code refactoring. The goal of the current research is to create methods for identifying code smells. The machine learning algorithm is a reliable method for individualized smell detection, but there aren't many studies on how well it works for different developers. In this proposed work used two different deep learning algorithms and five different machine learning ensembles to detect suspicious code. Investigation of the Data class, God class, Feature-envy, and Long-method datasets revealed that each contained various levels of code smells. Although there is room for improvement, the outcomes of prior publications' applications of machine learning and stacking ensemble learning methods to this dataset were satisfactory. A class balancing method (SMOTE) was implemented to address the problem of class imbalance within the datasets. While the Feature- envy dataset with the selected dozen metrics produced the lowest accuracy (91.45%) for the Max voting method, the Long-method dataset with the various chosen metrics produced the highest accuracy (100%) for all five methods. © 2023 IEEE.

Text-based emotion identification goes beyond simple sentiment analysis by capturing emotions in a more nuanced way, akin to shades of gray rather than just positive or negative sentiments. This paper details our experiments with emotion analysis on Bangla text. We collected a corpus of user comments from various social media groups discussing socioeconomic and political topics to identify six emotions: sadness, disgust, surprise, fear, anger, and joy. We evaluated the performance of four widely used machine learning algorithms—RF, DT, k-NN, and SVM—alongside three popular deep learning algorithms—CNNs, LSTM, and Transformer Learning—using TF-IDF feature extraction and word embedding techniques. The results showed that among the machine learning algorithms, DT, RF, k-NN, and SVM achieved accuracy scores of 82%, 84%, 73%, and 83%, respectively. In contrast, the deep learning models CNN and LSTM both achieved higher performance with an accuracy of 85% and 86% respectively. These findings highlight the effectiveness of traditional ML and DL approaches in detecting emotions from Bangla social media texts, indicating significant potential for further advancements in this area.

Maintaining privacy and trust within Vehicular Edge Computing (VEC) systems requires proper authentication methods that ensure safety and effectiveness in dynamic settings. Current authentication solutions face three main drawbacks including excessive computational costs together with complex identity management systems and large security exposure. The proposed lightweight Multi-Entity Authenticated Group Key Agreement protocol serves blockchain-based VEC networks according to this research. MAGKA enhances authentication through bulk certification removal and reduces reliance on identity authentication and provides seamless vehicle traffic across edge networks. The solution provides VEC authentication with robust security and scalability demonstrated through security analysis of its ability to withstand attacks.

Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) is a complex neurodevelopmental condition marked by challenges in social interaction, communication, and repetitive behaviors. Early detection is critical to enable timely intervention and improve outcomes for individuals with ASD. This research proposes an innovative framework that integrates Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) with advanced data preprocessing techniques, facial imaging, and behavioral analysis to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of ASD diagnosis. Leveraging data augmentation and transfer learning, the model achieves robust performance with high sensitivity and specificity. The novelty of this approach lies in its ability to identify subtle facial and behavioral patterns indicative of ASD, using a multidisciplinary strategy that combines neuroimaging, machine learning, and real-time diagnostic feedback. By advancing beyond traditional methods, this comprehensive framework holds the potential to revolutionize early ASD detection, making it more accessible, scalable, and precise.

Maritime navigation offers a comprehensive approach to optimising ship navigation, in such a way that guarantees the safety and effectiveness of the journey through multiple techniques, like the adaptive weather routing technique, which uses the predictive model and the current weather conditions for efficient navigation. The review mainly emphasizes the basic principles and computational simulation for sustainable navigation in advancing the route defining algorithm. Discusses about the conventional route defining algorithms and dynamic route defining algorithm by adjusting for wind, waves, and currents. A comparison analysis shows how well different algorithms work in various weather conditions, and case studies show how they are used in the actual world, while new trends are being discussed, major problems also concern the need for accurate climate predictions, high-speed data processing, and an efficient response plan. The Advancements in artificial intelligence and composite path forecasting also address issues related to major needs, such as accurate weather forecasts, high-speed data processing, and effective reaction tactics. Through this insights of this review provides on future directions for adaptive weather routing research and development that the sustainable growth of intelligent naval navigation is supported.

With the growing presence of multilingual users on social media, detecting abusive language in code-mixed text has become increasingly challenging. Code-mixed communication, where users seamlessly switch between English and their native languages, poses difficulties for traditional abuse detection models, as offensive content may be context-dependent or obscured by linguistic blending. While abusive language detection has been extensively explored for high-resource languages like English and Hindi, low-resource languages such as Telugu and Nepali remain underrepresented, leaving gaps in effective moderation. In this study, we introduce a novel, manually annotated dataset of 2 thousand Telugu-English and 5 Nepali-English code-mixed comments, categorized as abusive and non-abusive, collected from various social media platforms. The dataset undergoes rigorous preprocessing before being evaluated across multiple Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Large Language Models (LLMs). We experimented with models including Logistic Regression, Random Forest, Support Vector Machines (SVM), Neural Networks (NN), LSTM, CNN, and LLMs, optimizing their performance through hyperparameter tuning, and evaluate it using 10-fold cross-validation and statistical significance testing (t-test). Our findings provide key insights into the challenges of detecting abusive language in code-mixed settings and offer a comparative analysis of computational approaches. This study contributes to advancing NLP for low-resource languages by establishing benchmarks for abusive language detection in Telugu-English and Nepali-English code-mixed text. Fall detection systems are critical in elderly care and healthcare monitoring, but traditional camera-based solutions raise significant privacy concerns. This research presents a novel approach utilizing LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) sensors for fall detection in indoor environments, addressing privacy issues while maintaining high accuracy. We introduce LiFall, a new dataset captured using a Velodyne VLP 16 Puck LiDAR sensor, comprising 12 scenes and over 500 frames simulating various fall scenarios (including back falls, bed falls, and walking falls), contributing to the scarcity of LiDAR-based fall detection datasets. Our methodology employs two advanced deep learning architectures: Annularly Convolutional Neural Networks (ACNN) and Dynamic Graph Convolutional Neural Networks (DGCNN). Evaluating these models on both the ModelNet40 dataset and our custom LiFall dataset, results show DGCNN outperforms ACNN, achieving an accuracy of 84% on the ModelNet40 dataset with a 70:30 train-test split. On the LiFall dataset, despite challenges with dataset imbalance and achieving lower detection accuracy even after data augmentation, our approach demonstrates the potential of LiDAR-based fall detection systems. Compared to other fall detection methods, our LiDAR-based system offers significant advantages beyond privacy preservation, such as robust performance in low-light conditions and the ability to capture detailed 3D spatial information. While our current implementation is limited to laboratory settings, future work will focus on real-world deployments and further addressing dataset imbalance issues to enhance overall system performance. This research contributes to the field by providing a privacy-preserving, high-performance alternative to camera-based fall detection systems, paving the way for more acceptable monitoring solutions in sensitive indoor environments.

In this paper, we present an Extended Reality (XR) platform powered by Large Language Models (LLMs), designed to support education in dance history and cultural heritage. The platform here applied to a case study on a dance costume, allows users to interact with 3D models, annotate them, and explore their historical and cultural contexts collaboratively. Using features like image-to-LLM queries, users can gain insights into costume details and performance history, and the annotation tools enable uploading multimedia resources, thereby simulating an archival research environment. By integrating LLMs, the platform provides tailored information and context on demand, enriching the user experience with detailed explanations about objects, such as costume construction, usage, and cultural significance.

This paper presents a monocular UAV motion planning method based on the DRL method SDDPG. By processing image data with the self-proposed lightweight dept. estimation model and a pretrained encoder, the information is sent into an improved Actor-Critic Network, which addresses overestimation issues and enhances learning efficiency. The experiments were conducted in Unreal Engine 4 and Airsim, which demonstrate the improvement of the motion planning ability, enabling UAVs to autonomously navigate and safely reach the defined destination.
