In the field of image-based drug discovery, capturing the phenotypic response of cells to various drug treatments and perturbations is a crucial step. This process involves transforming high-throughput cellular images into quantitative representations for downstream analysis. However, existing methods require computationally extensive and complex multi-step procedures, which can introduce inefficiencies, limit generalizability, and increase potential errors. To address these challenges, we present PhenoProfiler, an innovative model designed to efficiently and effectively extract morphological representations, enabling the elucidation of phenotypic changes induced by treatments. PhenoProfiler is designed as an end-to-end tool that processes whole-slide multi-channel images directly into low-dimensional quantitative representations, eliminating the extensive computational steps required by existing methods. It also includes a multi-objective learning module to enhance robustness, accuracy, and generalization in morphological representation learning. PhenoProfiler is rigorously evaluated on large-scale publicly available datasets, including over 230,000 whole-slide multi-channel images in end-to-end scenarios and more than 8.42 million single-cell images in non-end-to-end settings. Across these benchmarks, PhenoProfiler consistently outperforms state-of-the-art methods by up to 20%, demonstrating substantial improvements in both accuracy and robustness. Furthermore, PhenoProfiler uses a tailored phenotype correction strategy to emphasize relative phenotypic changes under treatments, facilitating the detection of biologically meaningful signals. UMAP visualizations of treatment profiles demonstrate PhenoProfiler’s ability to effectively cluster treatments with similar biological annotations, thereby enhancing interpretability. These findings establish PhenoProfiler as a scalable, generalizable, and robust tool for phenotypic learning, offering transformative advancement

Due to the separation of outsourced data management and ownership, user loses the direct control over outsourced data. Therefore, the cloud executes all of the acts (e.g., data erasure) over outsourced data. However, the dishonest cloud may keep the data maliciously. To solve this problem, a new solution is proposed in this paper, which is able to reach fine-grained data erasure. In our protocol, if some outsourced data blocks are no longer needed, the user is able to remove them flexibly, while the useful data blocks remain in the cloud. After that, the user could check the erasure outcome efficiently. If the cloud remains the data blocks dishonestly, the user can fine the data reservation. Meanwhile, we provide the scheme analysis, which is able to show the security and practicality of our scheme. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

The detection and recognition of automatic license plates (ALPs) is an important task for traffic surveillance and parking management systems, as well as for sustaining the flow of modern civic life. It’s been suggested that there are a variety of ways to detect and recognize ALPs thus far Image processing and machine learning techniques are typically used in these approaches. For object detection and license plate identification, this article reviews most of the approaches. In order to improve the suitability of the input pictures for subsequent processing, many pre-processing approaches including Gaussian filtering and adaptive image contrast augmentation were examined. Deep semantic segmentation networks and deep learning techniques are also utilized to find the license plate areas in the input picture… For example, deep encoder-decoder network architecture and convolutional neural network (CNN) models used to recognize license plate.

technology advancements and concerns about greenhouse gas emissions will make electric vehicles the preferred mode of transportation in the future. The goal of this research is to resolve the current power grid issues of harmonics and low power factor. Rectifiers are primarily used in electric vehicles to convert AC power to DC power. A popular feature of SPWM rectifiers is that they produce high output voltage, unity power factor, and excellent dynamic response with low input current distortions. Closed-loop DC-DC converters and single-phase SPWM rectifiers convert direct current from one voltage to another. This method can balance the DC link to maintain a unity power factor and account for reactive power. With the proposed technology, individual rectifiers will be reliable and effective, and electric vehicle grids will be stable. The EU's energy paradigm has undergone considerable changes. To achieve the gradual shift toward electric vehicles and renewable energy, the EU climate commitment 2050 sets a reduction target of 80 to 95 percent. The requirements for Flexibility may vary from source to load due to the advancement of demand-side resource and storage technologies. A future grid with intermittent and uncontrollable wind and solar power generation presents problems. To maximize the integration of renewable resources and electric vehicles and to enhance renewable energy penetration, a novel grid technique is proposed and analyzed in this study. The charging and discharging strategy is managed by a distribution control system employing V2G technology to provide a mismatch between charging and renewable generation. To fulfill demand, avoid peak hours, and provide auxiliary services, it is necessary to maintain consistent frequency, smooth load configuration, and stable power quality.

Corrosion is a serious problem in industry of metals particularly in the areas which possess high amount of moisture. Due to this reason scientists and researchers have been investigated several methods to overcome this issue. They have discovered many inhibitors to reduce the hazards of corrosion to metals. Throughout history many changes and developments have been done to increase the quality of these corrosion inhibitors. In this study some corrosion inhibitors from different works and researches have been analyzed through the comparisons of the practical data obtained from the techniques such as TEM, XPS and Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The inhibitors involved: Novel nitrogen doped carbon dots (NCDs), imidazole-citric acid-based carbon dots and Novel N-doped carbon dots (CDs) were synthesized via pyrolysis of ammonium citrate. The inhibitors, with various ratios, were applied to the surface of Q235 carbon steel in various intervals of times in the presence absence of hydrochloric acid solution. All of results reveal to improvement and reducing the corrosion on metals. The inhibitors have shown physical and chemical adsorption based on the Langmuir adsorption model. The reason behind selecting specific researches in this work was to analyze the progress of the carbon dot-based corrosion inhibitors and assisting researchers and industries to choose the most effective scientific approach. © 2023 The Authors

Efficient Plasmonic Enhanced Solar Evaporation Achieved by Laser- Assisted Cu/Graphene Nanocomposite

Due to the high utilization of abundant solar energy and undrinkable water resources, and low environmental impact, solar-driven steam generation emerges as a promising and sustainable approach to address the pressing freshwater shortage issue. Efficient solar absorbers featuring broadband solar response, low-cost, facile preparation and good stability are significant to practical solar evaporation. Meanwhile, avoiding salt crystal accumulated on the evaporation surface, which would cause the blockage on the pathways for light absorption and vapor escape, is significant to maintain the evaporation efficiency. Therefore, a portable interfacial evaporator was facile made with a 3D-structured plasmonic enhanced photothermal nanocomposite of Cu Nanoparticles/ laser-induced graphene (Cu NPs/LIG) via a one-step deposition method. This novel evaporator exhibits a large solar absorption (98%) over broadband spectrum (250-2500nm) that also rapidly achieves a high surface temperature (>80 °C) under 1 sun irradiation. Meanwhile, the fabricated solar-driven evaporator can realize a high evaporation rate of 2.29 kg/m2.h on pure water. Moreover, due to the unobstructed and continuous pathways for the spontaneous salt diffusion along the vertical concentration gradients, outstanding anti-salt performance was obtained, and a high evaporation efficiency of 1.82 kg/m2.h upon brine with a high salinity (20 wt%) for a long-term was observed © 2022, The Authors. We introduce LYSTO, the Lymphocyte Assessment Hackathon, which was held in conjunction with the MICCAI 2019 Conference in Shenzen (China). The competition required participants to automatically assess the number of lymphocytes, in particular T-cells, in histopathological images of colon, breast, and prostate cancer stained with CD3 and CD8 immunohistochemistry. Differently from other challenges setup in medical image analysis, LYSTO participants were solely given a few hours to address this problem. In this paper, we describe the goal and the multi-phase organization of the hackathon;we describe the proposed methods and the on-site results. Additionally, we present post-competition results where we show how the presented methods perform on an independent set of lung cancer slides, which was not part of the initial competition, as well as a comparison on lymphocyte assessment between presented methods and a panel of pathologists. We show that some of the participants were capable to achieve pathologist-level performance at lymphocyte assessment. After the hackathon, LYSTO was left as a lightweight plug-and-play benchmark dataset on grand-challenge website, together with an automatic evaluation platform. LYSTO has supported a number of research in lymphocyte assessment in oncology.
