Strong correlated materials are emerging materials in low magnetocaloric cooling applications. The development of these fields necessitates materials with appealing magnetic, and magnetocaloric features. In this context, Density Functional Theory (DFT) combined with Monte Carlo simulations (MCs) are performed to comprehensively examine various physical, and magnetic features of the orthorhombic perovskite-type RTiO3. A metallic behavior of (Ho, Er)TiO3 has been found via the density of state using GGA+U approach. X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) was carried out to identify the magnetic contributions of Ho, Er, and Ti atoms in HoTiO3, and ErTiO3 compounds. The spin-orbit coupling was added in our calculations to study and evaluate the magnetocrystalline anisotropies of RTiO3 with (R= Ho, Er). We noticed an easy magnetization axis along the b-direction for HoTiO3, and along the c-direction for ErTiO3. Low magnetocrystalline anisotropy energies were found compared to other perovskite oxides such as RVO3, and RMnO3indicating that a weak rotating magnetocaloric effect (RMCE) is expected in (Ho, Er)TiO3. Moreover, the exchange coupling interactions were calculated using Ising model, the (Ti-Ti) interaction coupling is ferromagnetic, and larger than the other exchange interactions in (Ho, Er)TiO3. Furthermore, these exchange coupling interactions were utilized within the Heisenberg model for MCs, allowing us to understand the driving mechanisms underlying magnetocaloric and magnetic behaviors in (Ho, Er)TiO3. © 2023, The Authors. Fuzzy logic can be used to represent obscurity based on terms such as high, old, hot, cold, and so on. Fuzzy logic can extend the range of truth values to all real numbers in intervals between 0 and 1. Numbers in this interval represent the possibility that the statement given is 'true' or 'wrong'. The use of fuzzy logic can be used in everyday life, such as in the fields of medicine, engineering, agriculture, transportation, environmental science and also in economic and business applications. As in this study, it was used to calculate the ideal amount of 'tips' for restaurant waiters based on the service provided by restaurant waiters. The method used in this study is to use Mamdani fuzzy logic with the process of defuzzyfication using the Centroid of area (COA). The results of this study are that it can be determined the value crisp of giving tips to restaurant waiters is 45 thousand rupiah provided that the service provided for service = 7 (Excellent) and food service = 8 (Delicious)..

Location embedding based pairwise distance learning for fine-grained diagnosis of urinary stones

The precise diagnosis of urinary stones is crucial for devising effective treatment strategies. The diagnostic process, however, is often complicated by the low contrast between stones and surrounding tissues, as well as the variability in stone locations across different patients. To address this issue, we propose a novel location embedding based pairwise distance learning network (LEPD-Net) that leverages low-dose abdominal X-ray imaging combined with location information for the fine-grained diagnosis of urinary stones. LEPD-Net enhances the representation of stone-related features through context-aware region enhancement, incorporates critical location knowledge via stone location embedding, and achieves recognition of fine-grained objects with our innovative fine-grained pairwise distance learning. Additionally, we have established an in-house dataset on urinary tract stones to demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed approach. Phonons, or vibrational quanta, are behind some of the most fundamental physical phenomena in solids, including superconductivity, Raman processes, and broken-symmetry phases. It is therefore of fundamental importance to find ways to harness phonons for controlling these phenomena and developing novel quantum technologies. However, the majority of current phonon control techniques rely on the use of intense external driving fields or strong anharmonicities, which restricts their range of applications. Here, we present a scheme for controlling the intensity fluctuations in phonon emission at room temperature based on multimode ultrastrong light–matter coupling. The multimode ultrastrong coupling regime is achieved by coupling two optical phonon modes in lead halide perovskites to an array of nanoslots, which operates as a single-mode cavity. The extremely small mode volume of the nanoslots enables unprecedented coupling strengths in a cavity phonon-polariton system. In the far-detuned, low-cavity-frequency regime, we demonstrate that the nanoslot resonator mediates an effective coupling between the phonon modes, resulting in superthermal phonon bunching in thermal equilibrium, both within the same mode and between different modes. Experimental results are in good agreement with a multimode Hopfield model. Our work paves the way for the tailoring of phonons to modify charge and energy transport in perovskite materials, with potential applications in light-collecting or emitting devices. Photonic technologies continue to drive the quest for new optical materials with unprecedented responses. A major frontier in this field is the exploration of nonlocal (spatially dispersive) materials, going beyond the local, wavevector-independent assumption traditionally adopted in optical material modeling. The growing interest in plasmonic, polaritonic, and quantum materials has revealed naturally occurring nonlocalities, emphasizing the need for more accurate models to predict and design their optical responses. This has major implications also for topological, nonreciprocal, and time-varying systems based on these material platforms. Beyond natural materials, artificially structured materials—metamaterials and metasurfaces—can provide even stronger and engineered nonlocal effects, emerging from long-range interactions or multipolar effects. This is a rapidly expanding area in the field of photonic metamaterials, with open frontiers yet to be explored. In metasurfaces, in particular, nonlocality engineering has emerged as a powerful tool for designing strongly wavevector-dependent responses, enabling enhanced wavefront control, spatial compression, multifunctional devices, and wave-based computing. Furthermore, nonlocality and related concepts play a critical role in defining the ultimate limits of what is possible in optics, photonics, and wave physics. We theoretically investigate a Thouless pumping scheme in the 1D topological Su-Schrieffer-Heeger (SSH) model for single and multiple band-gaps systems when implemented in a discrete nematic liquid crystal arrangement. For an electrically controlled SSH waveguide array, we numerically demonstrate edge-to-edge light transport at low power levels. On the other hand, at higher powers, the transport is frustrated by light-induced nonlinear defect states, giving rise to robust all-optical switching. © 2022, CC BY.

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is a neurological disorder that affects many people in the world. Many researchers had speculated that behavior therapy could be used to treat people with ADHD. One of the promising behavioral therapy to help patients train their brains to focus, impulse control and executive functions is neurofeedback therapy. Using neurofeedback, therapists can learn how to influence patients' brain activity by adjusting the training regimen according to the feedback brainwave. According to past research, it was speculated that implicit learning and children with ADHD could have an atypical relationship. The aim of this paper is to analyze brainwave, electroencephalogram signal (EEG), of healthy people while they perform cognitive tasks to identify when a patient achieves an implicit learning event. Once the event is temporally identified, a pattern in the brainwave could be extracted which can potentially help in designing the neurofeedback treatment to help people with ADHD by training the brain to regular evoking the implicit learning brain state.

It is challenging to engineer programmable tactile displays to match human haptic abilities. Such displays are often composed of elements whose stiffness contrasts greatly with the softness of many natural materials. Emerging soft material technologies hold promise for their ability to conform to many objects, including the human body. However, rendering localized feedback from soft haptic devices remains challenging. Here, we present the Elastowave, a soft tactile interface that provides localized tactile feedback via a soft, compliant surface. We achieve this by focusing elastic wave fields generated by a compact array of remotely-positioned actuators. Our method is based on new variations of time-reversal focusing techniques for elastodynamic waves. Our system can provide dynamic, single- or multi-point localized tactile feedback with centimeter-scale resolution across a deformable interface with an area of 175 cm 2 . The sizeable displacements of the focused tactile signals enable them to be easily felt, as our experiments show. This work could enable the design of a multitude of new soft tactile interfaces in areas such as creative computing, product design, and augmented reality.

Analysis of denial of service attack on web security systems

In this study, an analysis of the Web security system from a Denial-of-Service Attack (DoS) with SYN Attack, Ping of Death, Land Attack, Smurf Attack and UDP Flood types. The server computer that will be tested for DoS attacks is a local web server including *** IP: 54.169.71.56, *** IP: 104.152.168.14, *** IP: 156.67.210.132, *** IP: 202.162. 207,101 and *** with IP Address 213.136.83.52 port 80. The attack on the local web server computer was carried out through attacking cloned computers as many as 5 zombie computers and then observing data traffic on each Web server computer. The test results use ping to the local web server computer, where the target web server sends a replay request time out and the check results in the Google Chrome browser are slow to inaccessible conditions. Ping access time the greater the packet, the greater the average time when accessing a local web server with 5,000 packets is 242.68 seconds, 10,000 packets is 310.28 seconds, 20,000 packets are 337.4 seconds, 30,000 packets are 377.2 seconds, 40,000 packets are 398.4 seconds, 50,000 packets are 545.4 seconds and 100,000 packets are above 600 seconds with the condition that the web server will recover after 600 seconds where the system recovery process depends on each local web server.

A basic laboratory exercise was designed and implemented, for K-12 students, which delves into the measurement of basics of electrical circuit parameters, such as resistance, current and voltage. This 2-3 hour lab exercise gives students a glimpse into basic electrical engineering concepts, which are covered in an undergraduate Sophomore level introductory Circuits-1 course that all Electrical engineering majors are required to take. Laboratory participants cover the same material, in a small amount of time that the undergraduate students cover in 2-3 weeks. The lab exercise also includes an interactive exercise that helps students understand decimal to binary conversion for unsigned and signed decimal numbers via a tool already being used as part of interactive digital logic laboratory experience. In addition, students try their skill in generating power, under varying load conditions, using a bike-power generator as a fun-filled competitive activity. This paper outlines the laboratory exercise learning outcomes, implemented laboratory exercises, observations made, and results of a conducted exit survey. © American Society for engineering Education, 2018.
