Comparative Analysis of SAAS Model and NPC Integration for Enhancing VR Shopping Experiences

This article examines the incorporation of the Shopping Assistance Automatic Suggestion (SAAS) model into Virtual Reality (VR) environments in order to improve the online shopping experience. The SAAS model employs sophisticated deep learning methods to offer customized product recommendations, which are conveyed by non-player characters (NPCs) via voice-based interactions. Our goal is to develop an interactive shopping experience that replicates real-life interactions by integrating AI-powered recommendations with immersive VR technology. We gather and standardize data from several open commerce databases, such as Amazon Product and Customer Reviews. The SAAS model, in conjunction with GPT-3, BERT, and T5, undergoes training and testing to evaluate its effectiveness across multiple criteria. The results demonstrate that the SAAS model surpasses other models in delivering contextually aware and pertinent recommendations. The integration process outlines the specific steps involved in capturing, processing, and transforming user interactions in virtual reality (VR) into vocal suggestions provided by non-player characters (NPCs). This strategy improves customization and utilizes the immersive features of virtual reality to effectively engage people. The results of our research establish a higher standard for e-commerce, with the goal of enhancing the user experience of online purchasing by making it more instinctive, engaging, and pleasurable. © 2024 by the authors.

This research paper presents a bread mold identification system that utilizes digital image processing techniques, specifically K-means clustering and thresholding, to accurately detect and classify mold-infected areas on bread. The system aims to provide valuable information regarding the safety of consuming mold-contaminated bread, enabling consumers to make informed decisions and reduce the risk of health issues associated with consuming mold-infested bread. the K-means clustering algorithm for mold classification, considering factors such as the number of iterations and the distance metric within the feature space to determine its accuracy. The GLCM feature extraction technique is employed to extract texture information from bread images, encompassing features such as standard deviation (110.62), contrast (1.46), energy, and homogeneity (0.96 and 0.77, respectively). Experimental results demonstrate that the Euclidean Distance yielded the highest result of 72.73, the Cosine Distance obtained the highest result of 8.25, and the City Block Distance obtained the highest result of 92.11. These findings showcase the effectiveness of the system in accurately detecting and classifying mold-infected areas on bread, thereby aiding in ensuring food safety and reducing health risks for consumers. © 2023 IEEE.

Wireless communication via unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) has drawn a great deal of attention due to its flexibility in establishing line-of-sight (LoS) communications. However, in complex urban and dynamic environments, the movement of UAVs can be blocked by trees and high-rise buildings that obstruct directional paths. This problem can be effectively addressed by employing reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS). To achieve this goal, accurate channel estimation in RIS-assisted UAV-enabled wireless communications is crucial. This paper proposes an accurate channel estimation model using long short-term memory (LSTM) for a multi-user RIS-assisted UAV-enabled wireless communications system. Simulation results showed that LSTM can effectively improve the channel estimation performance of RIS-assisted UAV-enabled wireless communications. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2023.

In the contemporary digital era, individuals face an overwhelming challenge of searching for personalized content from a seemingly infinite pool of available options such as books, videos, articles, and movies. Simultaneously, digital content providers strive to attract and retain as many users on their platforms as possible for extended periods. This has led to the evolution of recommender systems, which aim to enhance user engagement and satisfaction by recommending content based on their preferences and interests. These systems employ sophisticated algorithms and data mining techniques to analyze user behavior and feedback, enabling them to make personalized recommendations to users, thereby improving their overall experience. In this paper, an investigation is conducted in which different models in machine learning with their combinations are evaluated to evaluate which model could give the best accuracy with actual ratings given by users. The models used are Lasso regression, XGBoost, K-nearest neighbor, surprise baseline only, SVD, SVDpp, and their combinations. The proposed ensembled model of XGBoost + surprise baseline + surprise KNN baseline + SVD + SVDpp, with the minimum value of RMSE as 1.111410 and MAPE value as 39.261054, is our best model and can serve as a reference for any future recommender system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2024.

An intelligent and self-sufficient robot is essential across a wide range of fields, including transportation, industry, space exploration, and defense. Mobile robots possess the capability to undertake diverse tasks such as handling materials, aiding in disaster scenarios, conducting patrols, and executing rescue operations. As a result, the development of an autonomous robot that can navigate through both unchanging and ever-changing surroundings has become important. The primary objective of mobile robot navigation revolves around ensuring the seamless and secure traversal of the robot through complex environments, starting from an initial position, and reaching a designated goal position. This paper presents the design and implementation of a Jetson Nano powered robot car which uses local sensors to interact with an unknown environment. Object following, obstacle avoidance, and wall following features are built for the car to navigate to reach its desired destinations. © 2023 IEEE.

Researchers emphasize the importance of hardware accelerators for mathematical morphology. If there are any issues, the hardware architecture may need to be redesigned. Thus, we propose a novel, reconfigurable hardware architecture with pipeline techniques for acceleration. With the order control register, there is no need to modify the architecture even if different results are expected. Furthermore, the hardware architecture caters to specific purposes instead of requiring a purpose-built hardware design. © 2023 IEEE.

Navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape requires a sophisticated platform that is not only comprehensive but also user-friendly and enables seamless analysis and document comparison in the legal realm. To address this challenging requirement, this research is dedicated to the user experience (UX) design of state-of the-art cloud-native mobile applications specifically designed for legal and regulatory harmonization. The methodology used is based on design thinking principles and takes advantage of the benefits of cloud computing. These include, but are not limited to, scalability, reliability, and security. The result is a solution that is not only powerful but also cost-effective. The core of this application follows a user-centered design philosophy and involves potential users closely in the design process. A comprehensive evaluation is performed using the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology to measure the effectiveness and usability of the application. The results of this comprehensive approach are convincing. The application has an impressive 95.5% usage rate, indicating strong user engagement. Furthermore, user satisfaction ratings are particularly high and transformative impact of this application in a complex environment of legal harmonization. Through its innovative design, seamless functionality, and user-centric approach, this application has proven to be not only a technical solution, but also a catalyst for positive change in the legal and regulatory harmonization process. © 2023 IEEE.

Deafness is a condition that results in the loss of hearing function, hindering the reception of information such as oral communication that relies on auditory senses. Consequently, individuals with hearing impairment experience communication barriers and may have limited or no ability to respond. One solution is the use of sign language. In Indonesia, there are two known sign languages: Sibi and Bisindo. Both serve the same function but differ in their style of movement and expression. Bisindo is considered more flexible as it conveys meaning based on the Indonesian language. However, the universal understanding of this language solution is still limited among many people. Therefore, a program is needed to facilitate translation between deaf individuals who use sign language and their counterparts who do not communicate through sign language. CNN (Convolutional Neural Network) is a deep learning algorithm used for training visual input data recognition by computer systems. There are various CNN-based architectures, and one of them is AlexNet. Based on the author's testing, the AlexNet architecture proves to be suitable for real-time sign language translation. The evaluation of the system involved 7,800 datasets and 520 testing instances, with an average accuracy of 468 correct translations. When averaged, the system achieved a 90% accuracy rate, representing a 100% increase in accuracy compared to previous approaches. © 2023 IEEE.

A network with no infrastructure, multiple hops, and dispersed nodes called a MANET. Nodes can communicate directly or through intermediaries without the need for permanent infrastructure. In dynamic networks like MANETs, routing procedures enhance the overall appearance of the network by ensuring Quality of Service (QoS). A routing protocol may use a composite routing measure to determine the best path for transferring data. Optimal location-based routing for MANETs based on energy-awareness is presented in this paper. Optimal routes are selected using this fast algorithm. Particle swarm optimization (PSO) is used instead of location-aided routing to select the normal data transmission route. Last but not least, the network is tested by simulating its packet delivery ratio, its energy level, its delay, and its overhead. © 2024 IEEE.

Vanadium Redox Flow Batteries (VRFB) are promising for large-scale energy storage due to their long life and environmental benefits. Accurate temperature prediction is key to optimizing VRFB performance and longevity. This study compares the performance of four machine learning models, i.e., 1D CNN, Particle Swarm Optimization - Support Vector Regressor (PSO-SVR), Decision Tree (DT), and K-Nearest Neighbors (KNN), using a publicly available dataset. Results show that KNN achieves the best results with test Root Mean Square Error (RMSE) of 0.0424 (average) and test R2 of 0.9746 (average), demonstrating strong predictive accuracy. 1D CNN, however, shows poor generalization. These findings suggest that non-parametric models like KNN and DT are highly effective for VRFB temperature prediction. © The Institution of engineering & technology 2024.
