The boost converter-based AC/DC power factor correction converter, characterized by its simple structure and control ease, is extensively employed as a pre-stage converter in industrial power supply applications. Commercial products must pass relevant electromagnetic compatibility tests to ensure that the electromagnetic interference energy generated by their switching power converters comply with corresponding standards, such as IEC60950. In a boost converter, the primary noise sources include the pulse current generated when switching the power switch and the high-voltage, high-frequency square wave. The high-voltage, high-frequency square wave exhibits a high dv/dt at the "on" and "off" transients of the power switch, generating several high-frequency harmonics. Here, we propose an innovative winding method for toroidal inductors, demonstrating the potential to increase resonance frequency by over 50% and mitigate electromagnetic interference emissions more effectively than conventional winding processes.

Multi-robot belief space planning (MR-BSP) is essential for reliable and safe autonomy. While planning, each robot maintains a belief over the state of the environment and reasons how the belief would evolve in the future for different candidate actions. Yet, existing MR-BSP works have a common assumption that the beliefs of different robots are consistent at planning time. Such an assumption is often highly unrealistic, as it requires prohibitively extensive and frequent communication capabilities. In practice, each robot may have a different belief about the state of the environment. Crucially, when the beliefs of different robots are inconsistent, state-of-the-art MR-BSP approaches could result in a lack of coordination between the robots, and in general, could yield dangerous, unsafe and suboptimal decisions. In this paper, we tackle this crucial gap. We develop a novel decentralized algorithm that is guaranteed to find a consistent joint action. For a given robot, our algorithm reasons for action preferences about 1) its local information, 2) what it perceives about the reasoning of the other robot, and 3) what it perceives about the reasoning of itself perceived by the other robot. This algorithm finds a consistent joint action whenever these steps yield the same best joint action obtained by reasoning about action preferences; otherwise, it self-triggers communication between the robots. Experimental results show efficacy of our algorithm in comparison with two baseline algorithms.

The Internet of Things (IoTs) have become ubiquitous in all aspects of public needs today. The application of IoT technology is crucial for promoting energy-saving behavior. This paper presents a control system used for smart home devices based on hand gesture control and Android applications. The hardware design uses the ESP32 microcontroller, which has an in-chip Wi-Fi module, making it very suitable for creating IoT application systems. The software was designed using the Arduino IDE, and the application display design was developed using Kodular Creator, which is used to control the lamps and switches. The experiment results show that the electrical equipment can be activated using the Android application with gesture sensors by waving down, up, left, and right.

This study examines the decline in the usage of the Javanese language, which has experienced a decrease in the number of speakers from approximately 82 million in 2007 to 68.2 million in 2015. The convergence of the Javanese script and Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology is proposed as a solution, allowing for the preservation and accessibility of the Javanese script in the digital age. The integration of Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) in Javanese script classification achieved a high accuracy rate of 92.95% in identifying positive and negative cases. The dataset used for training consisted of 8440 sample images, which were divided into 20 subfolders for training and testing. The results presented in Table IV demonstrate the successful implementation of the classification model, achieving a 98.87% sensitivity, 100% precision, and 98.88% specificity. This research contributes to the preservation and understanding of the culturally significant Javanese script while addressing the decline in its usage.

With the increasing frequency of extreme weather events and natural disasters, insurance providers around the world are facing enormous challenges. This study addresses insurance claims resulting from these disasters by developing a comprehensive disaster insurance risk assessment model, focusing on Japan, a country prone to frequent earthquakes. The model integrates a Catastrophe Model, the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP), and an expert scoring method to optimize the risk assessment and compensation process for historic buildings. The results show that the model has strong predictive power, which provides valuable insights for insurance companies, policymakers, and urban planners in mitigating the impact of disasters and protecting cultural heritage.

This paper shows the design and implementation of a multi-resonant Class-E
2
DC-DC converter based on voltage- controlled oscillator. By cascading a Class-E inverter to a Class-E rectifier, a double soft-switching converter is obtained, in which, the active switch turns-on with zero voltage switching and the diode turns-off with zero derivative voltage switching. This work relies on design equations based on normalized charts that relate the resonant frequency to the current transfer function, quality factor and peak values for the switch variables. In order to activate the switch, a circuit scheme is proposed based on a voltage-controlled oscillator connected to a low-side gate-driver. Therefore, it is not necessary to use a microcontroller neither auxiliary power sources. Experimental results are presented to show the feasibility of the proposed converter.
