Network security is a crucial component of Information technology, yet organizations continue to grapple with meeting established security benchmarks. Given the rise in cyber-attacks and the continuous emergence of new attack types, it's practically infeasible to persistently update attack patterns or signatures within security parameters. Key tools such as Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) are instrumental in monitoring network traffic and identifying potential threats. However, these tools face limitations, such as the high volume of alerts produced by IDS and the use of rule-based method, also the inability of SIEM tools to analyze logs comprehensively to identify inappropriate activities. This research has conducted anomaly detection using machine learning process to classify cyber-attacks network flow collected from IDS that installed incident network infrastructure. The analysis of IDS using machine learning, integrated with SIEM. The algorithm used in this research was Random Forest Classifier using CSE-CID-IDS2018 dataset pre-processed with Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Results of the experiments show that Random Forest Classifier Model, when combined with Principal Component Analysis (PCA), yields the most commendable results when applied to a 70/30 training/testing data ratio with accuracy of 0.99953. © 2023 IEEE.

This paper introduces a pioneering fault diagnosis technique termed Interval Ensemble Learning based on Sine Cosine Optimization Algorithm (IEL- SCOA), tailored to tackle uncertainties prevalent in wind energy conversion (WEC) systems. The approach unfolds in three integral phases. Firstly, the establishment of interval centers and ranges, employing upper and lower bounds, effectively manages the inherent uncertainties arising from noise and measurement errors intrinsic to the wind system. Subsequently, the dataset undergoes processing via the Sine-Cosine Optimization Algorithm (SCOA), enabling the extraction of the most pertinent attributes. The culmination of predictive precision and classification performance is achieved through the integration of the refined dataset into an ensemble learning paradigm, harmonizing bagging, boosting techniques, and an artificial neural network classifier. The principal aim of the IEL-SCOA approach is to discern the spectrum of operational conditions within WEC systems, encompassing a healthy mode alongside six distinct faulty modes. These anomalies, encompassing short circuits, open circuits, and wear-out incidents, are deliberately induced at diverse locations and facets of the system, notably the generator and grid sides. Empirical results underscore the robustness and efficiency of the proposed methodology, showcasing an exceptional accuracy rate of 99.76 %. These outcomes definitively establish the IEL-SCOA approach as a potent and efficacious tool for precise fault diagnosis in uncertain WEC systems. © 2023

Malware had been a problem for quite some times since it spreads easily and can cause various problems. Currently, malware is also one of the big threats for internet users. With a huge number of internet users today, techniques that can automatically detect malware before it infects the system is required. This study aims to develop malware detection using machine learning approach with Principal Component Analysis (PCA) as feature reduction. PCA (Principal Component Analysis) is expected to be able to reduce the number of features which then could also reduce the learning time but do not reduce its accuracy significantly. There were four machine learning classifiers used in this study, i.e. K-Nearest Neighbor, Decision Tree, Naïve bayes, and Random Forest. The n-components used in this study were 20 and 34 and the ratio of test and train in the dataset was 35% for test and 65% for training. The results have shown that the best performance come from the detection using random forest with 34 n-component and 100 n-estimator with the average accuracy was 0.991688. © 2023 IEEE.

In order to analyze progresses of rheumatoid arthritis, we are developing an application to measure the distance between finger joints from X-ray images. In this paper, we focus on second joints, which are known to be prone to arthritis. We have proposed a method of filtering images and detecting edges, which has improved accuracy. Experimental results show that practical application of this system will reduce the burden on physicians and contribute to early detection of rheumatoid arthritis. © 2023 IEEE.

Manufacturing, energy, finance, education, transportation, smart home, and medicine employ IoT technology. IoT solutions can efficiently manage hospital patients and mobile assets to provide high-quality medical services. The Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) integrates IoT with medical equipment to increase patient comfort, cost-effective medical solutions, hospital treatment speed, and personalized healthcare. This work uses Constrained Application Protocol to secure remote patient health data (CoAP). Nevertheless, the CoAP DTLS layer lacks key control, session establishment, and multicast message exchange. Hence, IoMT communication requires an efficient protocol for safe CoAP session formation. Consequently, to address key management and multicast security issues in CoAP, we presented an efficient and secure communication method to establish a secure session key between IoMT devices and distant servers utilizing lightweight, energy efficient, and Secure CoAP Elliptic Curve Cryptography (E2SCEC2). E2SCEC2 can use a smaller key size than Rivest-Shamir-Adleman (RSA) due to its tiny key size. To determine if these algorithms are compatible in limited contexts, the paper examines key creation, signature generation, and verification of E2SCEC2 and RSA algorithms, energy consumption, and radio duty cycle. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Based on WHO's data, breast cancer is one of the most deadly diseases that has claimed many victims, especially women. This disease begins with the presence of an undetected and eventually turns into malignant (cancer). This happens due to ignorance of the importance of having a medical check-up even though in good health. Doctors and researchers can prevent the development of tumor cells through treatment that begins with radiological examinations to identify the possibility of a person being affected by this disease. One of the most frequently used techniques is Mammography. This technique can detect the presence of tumor cells using advanced technology and several methods in displaying the patient's diagnostic results on low-dose X-rays in the form of mammogram images. The technology is inseparable from the methods used to identify the presence of tumor cells. In this study, we have proposed the CNN method based on the deep-CNN model to identify mammogram images in the detection of breast cancer cells with average evaluation results in terms of accuracy, precision, recall, specificity, and f-measure on mammogram image datasets of 99.52%, 99.72%, 99.31%, 99.72%, and 99.5%. These results showed that this method has a good performance in breast cancer detection. © 2023 IEEE.

Since 2019, the world has suffered from the outbreak of the "Coronavirus Disease (COVID)-19 pandemic. This study used the principle of Ultraviolet (UV)-C disinfection to produce a mobile high-power UV-C sterilizer. It focused on combining intelligent control systems, human sensors, and Internet of Things (IoT) systems to carry out disinfection tasks in unmanned indoor spaces. Because of its mobile nature, the sterilizer could be moved at any time in various learning, research, and activity rooms for disinfection. In addition to manually controlling the sterilizer, a Wi-Fi or Narrowband (NB)-IoT-enabled remote control was provided to start the disinfection process. In order to prevent ultraviolet light from harming the human body, sensors were employed self-acting to detect the presence of people and turn off the ultraviolet light when people were detected in the area. At the same time, a camera on the sterilizer would capture an image and notify the relevant personnel through a LINE notification, to prevent the human body from being exposed to ultraviolet light, causing harm to the teachers and students on campus. During operation, voice broadcast reminders and a status indicator could provide information about the operation status. After disinfection, users could view the disinfection process through a mobile device application or a webpage, which would automatically notify relevant personnel of the disinfection status through a LINE notification. In this way, the disinfection progress could be updated at anytime, anywhere and the current disinfection status in the classroom could be displayed in real-time, allowing teachers and students on campus to carry out teaching and learning in a safe and secure environment. © The Author(s).

In recent years, several industries have increased their demand for processing precision, automatic detection, and visualization interfaces. Therefore, to keep pace with the fourth industrial revolution, machine tool operators install a large number of sensors on machine tools to obtain more precise physical quantities during processing and use a variety of sensors to obtain measurements in various situations. However, these additional sensors on machine tools result in complicated wire layouts, which exhibit negative effects on processing. Such problems lead to the birth of wireless data transmission, which is expected to become the new standard in the future. At present, there is more and more interactive integration between relevant embedded system and the machine tool, which allows information communication between each other in the wireless domain. However, generally, the majority of machine tool operators focus on optimizing the sensing conditions during processing, but they disregard the importance of information security. In the current era of the Internet of Things (IoT), information security is regarded as a crucial factor. For the wireless communication between the IoT equipment for each machine in the machining field, the transmitted data are almost exposed within public space directly due to the loss in constraint and protection of physical wiring. Therefore, such a process can easily be intercepted by other devices that capture information on relevant status of the machine or command messages received by the controller, where intentional individual may possibly control the operating mechanism and progress of entire plant. This leads to theft of relevant secrets in manufacturing technology for the subject company, or intentional shutdown, machine damage, and vicious blackmailing attacks. The Internet of Things (IoTs) have become ubiquitous in all aspects of public needs today. The application of IoT technology is crucial for promoting energy-saving behavior. This paper presents a control system used for smart home devices based on hand gesture control and Android applications. The hardware design uses the ESP32 microcontroller, which has an in-chip Wi-Fi module, making it very suitable for creating IoT application systems. The software was designed using the Arduino IDE, and the application display design was developed using Kodular Creator, which is used to control the lamps and switches. The experiment results show that the electrical equipment can be activated using the Android application with gesture sensors by waving down, up, left, and right. © 2023 IEEE.
