Paper Defects Classification Based on VGG16 and Transfer Learning

There are some problems in traditional paper defects classification, such as the poor generalization performance, less types of recognition, and insufficient recognition accuracy. The deep learning method provides a new scheme for paper defects classification. However, due to the small sample size of paper defect images set, the over fitting phenomenon is easy to appear in the training process. Aiming this problem, a transfer learning method based on convolutional neural network model is ***, freezing the first seven construction layers of VGG16 network which has been trained by ImageNet, and fine tune the rest convolution layers with the paper defect images set to complete the feature extraction;Secondly, the full connection layers for classification are improved to meet the needs of paper defects classification;Finally, transfer learning strategy is adopted in the training process to improve the efficiency. The experimental results demonstrate that the paper defects classification proposed in our approach can improve the efficiency and accuracy of paper defects recognition. Fabrication of plasmonic thin film via DC sputtering with optics based assessment for trasmittance, absorbance and resonance

A plasmonic thin film is potentially to be used with the advancement in optical biosensor. It is a label free without a need of fluorescent, chemiluminescent, radioisotope and etc. It is crucial to design a low cost biosensor that is easily fabricated at precise sizes and density. This paper reported a fabrication for copper and gold thin film on a glass substrate with a magnetron sputtering. The objectives are to: 1-Fabricate the thin film, 2- Develop the optics setup, 3-Evaluate the thin films and 4-Exhibit the optical resonance. Seven glass slides were coated with six copper and remaining with gold at different sputtering time. The time was varied from 280 sec to 980 sec while Argon gas and DC power were maintained respectively at 80 sccm and 130 watt. Later, the optics based was employed for assessing the film thicknesses. The thin films fabrication indicates different thicknesses were achieved at various sputtering time. Given y is a thicknesses and x is a sputtering time, respectively the copper and gold thin film were changed quantitatively at y= 28.335e0.0005x and y= 0.25x. Qualitatively, spectral transmittance and absorbance were changed to the thicknesses of the thin films. The plasmonic resonance was achieved with gold thin film at 50 nm thicknesses. The resonance sensitivity was decreases as the thin films thicknesses were increases. © 2020 Mattingley Publishing. All rights reserved.

In this paper, we investigate the primary-side control of a Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) link, i.e., the capability of delivering the optimal power level to the load without compromising system efficiency, by only sensing quantities available at the primary side. When adding a simple power regulator at the secondary side, we observe and analyze the existence of a Maximum Efficiency Transfer point, easily detectable at the primary side, and corresponding to the additional power regulator being barely on, with negligible dissipated power. More important, the approach does not require any advanced system modeling, nor the estimation of the system parameters. A theoretical model is developed and verified by measurements on a prototype built upon a 60 mW-class-E based WPT link working at 6.78 MHz. © 2023, CC BY-NC-SA.

3DLG-Detector: 3D Object Detection via Simultaneous Local-Global Feature Learning

Capturing both local and global features of irregular point clouds is essential to 3D object detection (3OD). However, mainstream 3D detectors, e.g., VoteNet and its variants, either abandon considerable local features during pooling operations or ignore many global features in the whole scene context. This paper explores new modules to simultaneously learn local-global features of scene point clouds that serve 3OD positively. To this end, we propose an effective 3OD network via simultaneous local-global feature learning (dubbed 3DLG-Detector). 3DLG-Detector has two key contributions. First, it develops a Dynamic Points Interaction (DPI) module that preserves effective local features during pooling. Besides, DPI is detachable and can be incorporated into existing 3OD networks to boost their performance. Second, it develops a Global Context Aggregation module to aggregate multi-scale features from different layers of the encoder to achieve scene context-awareness. Our method shows improvements over thirteen competitors in terms of detection accuracy and robustness on both the SUN RGB-D and ScanNet datasets. The deployment of electromyography (EMG) signals can be used in decoding finger movements for exoskeleton robotics, prosthetic hands, and powered wheelchairs and thus has attracted the attention of many researchers. However, decoding any movement is a challenging task. The success of using EMG signals depends on the appropriate choice of feature extraction and classification model, especially in the feature extraction process. Therefore, this study conducted an eight-feature extraction evaluation on various machine learning methods, i.e., Support Vector Machine (SVM), k-Nearest Neighbor (k-NN), Decision Tree (DT), Naïve Bayes (NB), and Quadratic Discriminant Analysis (QDA). Datasets from four intact subjects were used to classify twelve finger movements. Through five cross-validations, the result showed that almost all feature extractions combined with SVM outperformed the other combinations of features and classifiers. Mean absolute value (MAV) as a feature and SVM as a classifier were the best combination, with an accuracy of 94.01%. © 2023 Published by IRCS-ITB.

The comparison on the performance of interdigitated electrode (IDE) graphite and carbon nanotube (CNT) using titanium dioxide-multiwall carbon nanotube (TiO2-MWCNT) composite as sensing materials to detect hydrogen gas is presented in this research work. Screen printing technique has been selected to deposited IDE graphite and CNT conductive pastes as the electrode thick film on a flexible substrate, which is continued by firing at 120°C each. TiO 2 -MWCNT paste was printed as a sensing layer on top of IDE, followed by firing at 350°C. FESEM was used to characterize the morphological analysis of the IDE film. The operating temperature was varied at 27°C, 50°C and 100°C and concentration varied from 100–1000 ppm for gas hydrogen. The gas sensor demonstrated as n-type gas characteristics where the response of the gas sensor produced increased current from the results. The results purpose when the sensor was exposed to hydrogen gas. Therefore, the ability of IDE graphite and CNT as an electrode to harvest the electron from sensing materials were successfully proven. The IDE CNT showed better response compare to IDE graphite, but both electrodes were able to sense 100 – 1000 ppm at the operating temperature of 27°C, 50°C and 100°C. The optimal of operating temperature for IDE graphite is 50°C and IDE CNT is at room temperature for the hydrogen gas detections in this research work.

Magnetic nanoliquids are pondered cutting-edge heat transference liquids, representing a modern generation because of their aptitude to function as smart liquids. The deployed magnetism externally exerts a readily manageable impact, escalating their adaptableness and practicality in various applications. In this analysis, electro magnetized Powell-Eyring rheological nanoliquid is modeled considering stretching cylinder based buoyancy-driven flow. Transport expressions include thermal radiation, Brownian diffusion, chemical reaction, thermophoresis, and thermal source effect. Prandtl theory of boundary-layer (BL) assists to develop the governing problems. Appropriate transformations are deployed to obtain the dimensionless problems which are then computed numerically through the novel Levenberg-Marquardt artificial neural networks(ALM-ANNs). It is worth to mention that the close agreement between the error analysis of the reference dataset and the proposed datasets roughly from E−10 to E−03, further justifies the approaches utilized in this study. Besides the excellent measures of performance in terms of MSE are achieved at level 5.77E−11, 4.41E−11, 2.09E−12, 2.16E−11, 1.03E−11, 1.65E−11, 2.00E−11, and 1.91E−11against 272, 416, 266, 391, 142, 366, 425, and 508 epochs for first instance of all eight various scenarios. The acquired outcomes are compared with alternate analytical (homotopy) scheme and good agreement is witnessed. Furthermore it is noticed that as the values of Pr,RandS1 increase in size, so does the EPFM temperature profile θ, and the evaluation of AE is between E-04 to E-10. © 2024

The technology deployment in smart e-tourism brings high potential in terms of customer data, events, reservations, and others. It acts as an effective and personalized guide to aid travelers. There is an increasing variety of smart e-tourism apps with multiple categories and criteria, but in terms of decision making, this presents a multicriteria complex problem to determine the best app from a group of available options with high criteria subjectivity. Literature reviews have evaluated and modeled the existing smart e-tourism apps alternatives, but informational uncertainty remains. The fuzzy sets and Multi-Attribute Decision Analysis (MADA) were used to handle the subjectivity issue. However, this process includes levels of uncertainty, which affects the decisions made and still an open issues. Spherical fuzzy rough sets (SFRSs) environment are useful in this situation for resolving fuzziness and ambiguity. This paper proposed a decision modeling approach for smart E-Tourism data management applications based on SFRSs environment. For methodology: firstly, a decision matrix is adopted for 5 different categories of Smart E-tourism's system applications on the basis of the integrated 12 evaluation criteria. Secondly, a new formulation and development formulating a new extension of FWZIC, called a Spherical Fuzzy Rough-Weighted Zero-Inconsistency (SFR-WZIC), for weighting the smart key concept attributes involved in modeling smart e-tourism, whereas a new formulation and development for a new extension of FDOSM, called a Spherical Fuzzy Rough Decision by Opinion Score Method (SFR-DOSM), for modeling the applications of smart e-tourism per each e-tourism category;then, the new developments are integrated. The proposed methods were evaluated using systematic ranking and sensitivity analysis. © 2023 Elsevier B.V.

BACKGROUND Chronic radiation proctopathy(CRP) occurs as a result of pelvic radiation therapy and is associated with formation of abnormal vasculature that may lead to persistent rectal bleeding. While incidence is declining due to refinement of radiation delivery techniques, CRP remains one of the major complications of pelvic radiation therapy and significantly affects patient quality of *** ablation(RFA) is an emerging treatment modality for eradicating abnormal vasculature associated with CRP. However, questions remain regarding CRP pathophysiology and optimal disease *** To study feasibility of optical coherence tomography angiography(OCTA) for investigating subsurface vascular alterations in CRP and response to RFA *** Two patients with normal rectum and 8 patients referred for, or undergoing endoscopic RFA treatment for CRP were imaged with a prototype ultrahighspeed optical coherence tomography(OCT) system over 15 OCT/colonoscopy visits(2 normal patients, 5 RFA-na?ve patients, 8 RFA-follow-up visits). OCT and OCTA was performed by placing the OCT catheter onto the dentate line and rectum without endoscopic guidance. OCTA enabled depth-resolved microvasculature imaging using motion contrast from flowing blood, withoutrequiring injected dyes. OCTA features of normal and abnormal microvasculature were assessed in the mucosa and submucosa. Blinded reading of OCTA images was performed to assess the association of abnormal rectal microvasculature with CRP and RFA treatment, and rectal telangiectasia density endoscopic *** OCTA/OCT images are intrinsically co-registered and enabled depth-resolved visualization of microvasculature in the mucosa and submucosa. We generate ultrabroadband photon pairs entangled in both polarization and frequency bins through an all-waveguided Sagnac source covering the entire optical C- and L-bands (1530–1625 nm). We perform comprehensive characterization of high-fidelity states in multiple dense wavelength-division multiplexed channels, achieving full tomography of effective four-qubit systems. Additionally, leveraging the inherent high dimensionality of frequency encoding and our electro-optic measurement approach, we demonstrate the scalability of our system to higher dimensions, reconstructing states in a 36-dimensional Hilbert space consisting of two polarization qubits and two frequency-bin qutrits. Our findings hold potential significance for quantum networking, particularly dense coding and entanglement distillation in wavelength-multiplexed quantum networks. © 2023, CC BY.
