With advancements in the science of detection and attribution studies, the influence of climate change over many events has now been quantified. Because of the rapidly increasing temperatures, vulnerable populations (adults older than 65 years, and children younger than one year of age) were exposed to 3·7 billion more heatwave days in 2021 than annually in 1986–2005 (indicator 1.1.2), and heat-related deaths increased by 68% between 2000–04 and 2017–21 (indicator 1.1.5), a death toll that was significantly exacerbated by the confluence of the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the local cooling and overall health benefits of urban greenspaces, only 277 (27%) of 1038 global urban centres were at least moderately green in 2021 (indicator 2.2.3), and the number of households with air conditioning increased by 66% from 2000 to 2020, a maladaptive response that worsens the energy crisis and further increases urban heat, air pollution, and greenhouse gas emissions. Adaptively-secure authenticated key exchange protocol in standard model

Design a Secure Authenticated Key Exchange (AKE) protocol is a wide research area. Many works have been done in this field and remain few open problems. Design an AKE-secure without NAXOS approach is remaining as an open problem. NAXOS approach [18] is used to hide the ephemeral secret key from an adversary even if the adversary in somehow may obtain the ephemeral secret key. Using NAXOS approach will cause two main drawbacks, (1) leaking of the static secret key which will be used in computing the exponent of the ephemeral public key. (2) Maximize of using random oracle when applying to the exponent of the ephemeral public key and session key derivation. Another open problem is designing an AKE-secure in the standard model without relying on Pseudo-Random Function with Pairwise-Independent Random Sources. In this paper, we present a general construction for AKE-secure protocol from the projective hash family secures under hard subset membership problem in the standard model. We also give an instantiation of our protocol from DDH with a novel security proof from games sequences tool introduced by [24]. We show the effciency of our protocol compares to other similar AKE protocol.

This paper presents a chipless textile tag for RFID application. The CST microwave studio was used to design the chipless textile RFID tags which consist of three, four, and five slotted ring resonators nested in the circular patch. The RFID tag also fabricated using shieldit super fabric as conductive patch plane and the polyester fabric as substrate. The designed tags can operate over 1 GHz to 3 GHz frequency ranges. Each of the slot ring resonators are generate different reflection coefficient spectrum. The larger the slot ring create a resonate frequency at lower frequency. The measured and simulated results of the different slot ring chipless textile RFID tags are discussed.

Human activity recognition is widely discussed in many domains, and wearable sensors have proved to be a wise choice in related studies. Regarding activity estimation based on multiple sensors, we focus on the feature reduction process based on wearers’ experience and processing efficiency. According to the problem of determining the number and positions of necessary sensors in actual practice, we propose a hierarchical feature reduction method based on mutual information with max relevance and low-dimensional embedding strategies. This method divides the process of feature reduction into two stages: firstly, redundant sensors are eliminated with one-order sequential forward selection based on mutual information; secondly, feature selection strategy that maximizing class-relevance is integrated with low dimensional mapping so that the set of features will be further compressed.

Designing a fully automated artificial pancreas (AP) system is challenging. Changes in the glucose-insulin dynamics in the human body over time, and the inter-subject and day-to-day variability of people with type 1 diabetes (T1D) are two important factors that would highly undermine the performance of an AP that is based on time-invariant and non-individualized models. People with T1D show different responses to carbohydrate intake, insulin, physical activity and stress with day-to-day variability present between or within specific patients. Thus, the control law in an AP system requires a reliable time-varying individualized model to perform efficiently. In this work, a novel recursive identification approach called a Predictor-Based Subspace Identification (PBSID) method is used for identifying a linear time-varying glucose-insulin model for each individual. Model identification and validation are based on clinical data from closed-loop experiments. The models are evaluated by means of various performances indices: Variance Accounted For (VAF), Root mean square error (RMSE), Normalized root mean square error (NRMSE) and Normalized mean square error (NMSE). The proposed method provides a stable time-varying state space model over time. It can be also individualized for each patient by defining the order of the system correctly. The approach proposed in this work has shown a strong potential to identify a consistent glucose-insulin model in real time for use in an AP system. © 2017

We present initial results of an ongoing survey with the Karl G. Jansky Very Large Array targeting the CO(J = 1-0) transition in a sample of 30 submillimeter-selected, dusty star-forming galaxies at z = 2-5 with existing mid-J CO detections from ALMA and NOEMA, of which 17 have been fully observed. We detect CO(1-0) emission in 11 targets, along with three tentative (∼1.5-2σ) detections;three galaxies are undetected. Our results yield total molecular gas masses of 6-23×1010(αCO/1) Mo, with gas mass fractions, fgas=Mmol/(M∗+Mmol), of 0.1-0.8 and a median depletion time of (140±70) Myr. We find median CO excitation ratios of r31= 0.75±0.39 and r41= 0.63±0.44, with a significant scatter. We find no significant correlation between the excitation ratio and a number of key parameters such as redshift, CO(1-0) line width or ΣSFR. We only find a tentative positive correlation between r41and the star-forming efficiency, but we are limited by our small sample size. Finally, we compare our results to predictions from the SHARK semi-analytical model, finding a good agreement between the molecular gas masses, depletion times and gas fractions of our sources and their SHARK counterparts. Our results highlight the heterogeneous nature of the most massive star-forming galaxies at high-redshift, and the importance of CO(1-0) observations to robustly constrain their total molecular gas content and ISM properties. BACKGROUND:The International Classification of Diseases (ICD) code is widely used as the reference in medical system and billing purposes. However, classifying diseases into ICD codes still mainly relies on humans reading a large amount of written material as the basis for coding. Coding is both laborious and time-consuming. Since the conversion of ICD-9 to ICD-10, the coding task became much more complicated, and deep learning- and natural language processing-related approaches have been studied to assist disease coders. OBJECTIVE:This paper aims at constructing a deep learning model for ICD-10 coding, where the model is meant to automatically determine the corresponding diagnosis and procedure codes based solely on free-text medical notes to improve accuracy and reduce human effort. METHODS:We used diagnosis records of the National Taiwan University Hospital as resources and apply natural language processing techniques, including global vectors, word to vectors, embeddings from language models, bidirectional encoder representations from transformers, and single head attention recurrent neural network, on the deep neural network architecture to implement ICD-10 auto-coding. Besides, we introduced the attention mechanism into the classification model to extract the keywords from diagnoses and visualize the coding reference for training freshmen in ICD-10. Sixty discharge notes were randomly selected to examine the change in the F-score and the coding time by coders before and after using our model. RESULTS:In experiments on the medical data set of National Taiwan University Hospital, our prediction results revealed F-scores of 0.715 and 0.618 for the ICD-10 Clinical Modification code and Procedure Coding System code, respectively, with a bidirectional encoder representations from transformers embedding approach in the Gated Recurrent Unit classification model. A copper nanoparticle exhibit electromagnetic spectrum that is potential in a biosensor development. It is crucial to design a low cost nanoparticle biosensor that is easily fabricated at precise sizes and density. This paper provides a convenient method for copper nanoparticle deposition on a glass substrate with a magnetron sputtering process known as Physical Vapor Deposition. The main objective is to determine a reliable prediction recipe for various nanometer copper film thicknesses. In this experiment, six glass slides were coated with copper at different sputtering time. The time was varied from 280 sec to 980 sec while Argon gas and DC power were maintained respectively at 80 sccm and 130 watt. Later, the optics based measurement and electron microscope were employed for assessing the copper film thickness. The experiment result indicates different thicknesses were achieved from 35 nm to 45 nm at various sputtering time. A uniform and continuous coating were achieved as magnified by Scanning Electron Microscope. The result is beneficial for evaluating the anisotropy of the copper coating for a nanoscale microbial detection at different spectral wavelength.

An improved DPA attack on DES with forth and back random round algorithm

The power leakage problems of smart card chip during the process of DES encryption are analyzed, we propose two attack algorithms on DES with forth and back random round algorithm respectively, include the accumulative attack algorithm and segmented attack algorithm. We provided an improved analysis algorithm based on the segmented attack by using a new correctional factor: the cliffy characteristic of the peak value. Finally, the first round key of DES was recovered successfully, and the DES key was deduced. It proves that the countermeasure with forth and back random round cannot t protect the security of smart card. We implement the DPA attack on DES with forth and back random round algorithm in the mathlab simulation experiment environment, the experiment results show that the feasibility and effectiveness of DPA can be improved by the advanced algorithm.
