In an evolving mode of infrastructure development that India as the world's fastest growing economy has been witnessing in the past decade. Public-Private Partnership (PPP) does create an enormous scope, both in terms of research and development of delivery mechanisms and performance models. This proposed research focuses on the same to understand the road infrastructure development. Specifically, the present study reviews PPP model projects in road development, and evaluate its performance based on select financial parameters. Besides the study also conducts an analysis of concession periods of firms that have been executing these projects. The study also examines the role of the public agency and the concessionaire in the success of the PPP projects. This research looks into the initiatives taken by government and the policy regime at large, specifically in the context of attracting PPP development; some of them include financing, and standardization of the model concession agreements. Notably, regardless of whether it is the central or state government on its own, it is not expected to meet all road development requirements with limited resources available with it. Thus, holistically, the measures taken by both the governments and its agencies in terms of introducing new models for development of the road sector were analyzed. Besides, the research also looks into various enablers provided by the awarding agencies, and further policy interventions that are required for developing road infrastructure through the PPP model. Importantly, it may be noted herein that financial performance of road projects under the PPP model has not been studied in India over a period across BOT Toll and BOT Annuity models. Therefore, this study also attempts to analyze firm performance of Special Purpose Vehicle (SPV)s that are responsible for executing the road projects. Additionally, it may be noted that the PPP model within the road construction sector in India does not seem to be

Sign language is the fundamental mode of communication among deaf community members. Each nation has its own, unique sign language. In a sign language, various hand gestures, body movements, and facial expressions are utilized to represent each sign. However, all these languages are not commonly recognized outside of these groups, there may be a communication barrier between hearing-impaired and non-hearing impaired individuals. The methods for recognizing signs created through this study enable the design of system that can help to reduce this barrier, either by giving computer tools to aid in the acquisition of sign language or, possibly, by creating portable sign-to-speech translation systems. The research work presents the detailed description about the general process of sign language recognition system using two different datasets (static and dynamic) of signs. A systematic literature review related to the Sign Language Recognition System (SLRS) for static and dynamic signs is depicted in this research work. The current status of sign language recognition system w. r. t the dataset is classified into static and dynamic signs. On the basis of published works, the periodic development of sign language recognition and research studies has been evaluated. In addition, the review methodology is followed and provided, and sources of publications and research papers are retrieved according to inclusion-exclusion criteria. This study methodology will aid in the dissemination of results in a methodical manner, therefore allowing researchers working in comparable fields to pick the most effective strategies for recognizing static and dynamic signs of Indian sign language (ISL). As no public dataset is available for the recognition of Indian signs this thesis presents the collection and development of datasets for static signs as well as for dynamic signs. It also describes the detailed procedure about how the dataset has been collected from the number of users under dif

This research aims to understand the corporate social responsibility (CSR) practice in an institutionalised CSR environment and explore relationships between predictors, mediating processes, and outcomes at the individual (micro) level of analysis. To achieve the first research objective, a micro-level research framework was formulated. Subsequently, a qualitative research design was employed, utilizing an interpretive inductive approach for analysing interview data. Interviews were conducted with twenty CSR heads from respected Indian organizations. The analysis of data aimed to scrutinize CSR practices within an institutionalized CSR context and unravel the interrelationships between various predictors, intermediary processes, and outcomes at the individual level, thereby fulfilling the remaining three research objectives. Findings highlight that the implementation of CSR is intricate, often subject to varying interpretations, resulting in unclear and unsystematic practices. At the institutional level, legal mandates and ingrained Indian ethos emerge as pivotal predictors of CSR practices in India. At the individual level, positive CSR perceptions among employees and alignment between individual and organizational values emerge as influential predictors of outcomes pertinent to individuals. Moreover, the research unveils that these predictors are channelled through processes such as employees' organizational identification, the meaningfulness they perceive in their work, and the perceived organizational support (POS) they receive. These processes culminate in outcomes such as organizational commitment, employee engagement, job satisfaction, and organizational citizenship behaviour (OCB). Furthermore, the findings introduce an additional intermediary process: the relationship between happiness and outcomes specifically enhanced productivity and reduced employee turnover. In conclusion, this thesis yields both theoretical and practical implications for the benefit o

The work presented in the thesis is carried out to investigate recently observed heavy mesons using heavy quark effective theory and phenomenological potential model. Since the momentous discovery of heavy quarks, namely the charm (c) and bottom (b) quarks, there has been a notable and focused interest in investigating the properties of heavy hadrons. Different experimental facilities like LHCb, BABAR, BESIII, FOCUS, SLAC, Belle, CDF, etc., have been on a discovery spree for stimulating the spectrum of heavy mesons. Consequently, it becomes essential to employ appropriate theoretical methodologies in order to attain a profound comprehension of these mesons. Several theoretical models, such as the Heavy Quark Effective Theory (HQET), potential models, lattice Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD), and QCD sum rules, are present in the literature for the in-depth exploration of these heavy mesons. In the past few years, HQET has emerged out as a successful model for studying the properties of heavy-light mesons. In this thesis, we intend to study the basic properties like masses, strong decays, branching ratios, and splittings for the newly observed heavy-light mesons in both the charm and bottom sectors. By this study, we will be able to fill the charm and bottom spectra up to F-wave and P-wave mesons for radial quantum numbers n = 2 and n = 3, respectively. Also, to understand quark-antiquark interactions and their dynamics, we have explored bottomonia in the framework of the phenomenological potential model. This thesis is organized into six chapters, a transient outline of which is given below: • Chapter 1 gives a brief discussion of theoretical and experimental aspects related to the study of bound states of quarks, which interact through the exchange of gluons. Here, we have categorized bound state hadrons into two primary groups: Baryons, which are composed of qqq structure, and mesons, having qq¯ configuration. The primary focus of this thesis is on the investigation o
