Technological advancements are increasingly evident across various sectors, including automobiles, industry, and healthcare. In precision agriculture, significant progress has been made, with AgroTICs and Smart Agriculture gaining substantial traction in the market. However, a gap remains between cutting-edge technology and family farming, presenting a challenge from both social and applied research perspectives. However, there is still a gap between cutting-edge technology and family farming, which creates a challenge from a social and applied research point of view. In this context, this paper proposes a monitoring model based on Fuzzy Logic and sensor automation applied to estimate the health of a corn crop. The proposed Fuzzy inference system involves calculating an indicator of nutrients as well as the average color and area of corn plants. The nutrient indicator is automatically computed by an ESP32 microcontroller using sensor readings, while the average color and area inputs are manually entered via a mobile application. Additionally, the Fuzzy inference is integrated into the ESP32. The model underwent experimental validation on the health of the plantation, and the results were evaluated in four areas: one was designated for testing, and three were for validation. The model achieved an accuracy of 97.5% in Scenario 3, categorized as 'Very Favorable', and an accuracy of 65% in Scenarios 2 and 4, categorized as 'Unfavorable'. The implications of this research contribute to the advancement of AgroTICs among small producers, with the potential to enhance and automate the monitoring of their harvest production. © 2024 IEEE.

In this article, we propose to study a novel research problem to boost group performance, that is, social-aware diversity-optimized group extraction (SDGE), which takes into consideration the two important factors: 1) group diversity and 2) social tightness. We prove the NP-hardness of SDGE and propose an effective algorithm, named group shrinking for diversity maximization (GSDM) with a performance guarantee, that is, GSDM is a three-approximation algorithm to the SDGE problem studied in this article. We further propose three effective pruning strategies that are able to boost the efficiency of GSDM but do not deteriorate its performance. We conduct extensive experiments on multiple large-scale real datasets to evaluate the performance of GSDM. The experimental results show that our proposed GSDM outperforms the other baseline approaches significantly, in terms of solution quality and efficiency. Moreover, the experimental results also confirm that our proposed pruning strategies indeed boost the efficiency of the algorithm. © 2014 IEEE.

This research article presents a modified isolated SEPIC converter suitable for high-power applications. It uses a transformer instead of coupled inductor for isolation between the input power source and the output load. The steady-state analysis is explained in detail. Thermal loss analysis is performed by using PLECS software. Further, a hardware prototype is developed to verify the performance aspects of the proposed converter. © 2023 IEEE.

Sasirangan cloth is one of the traditional cloths owned by Indonesia and is a typical cloth originating from the province of South Kalimantan. This Sasirangan cloth has many motifs and is unique. Sasirangan cloth is also one of the potentials that can attract local and foreign tourists to visit South Kalimantan. However, in recent years, tourist visits to South Kalimantan have decreased due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Then it also has an impact on the delay in the implementation of the Banjarmasin Sasirangan Festival which is usually held annually. The next impact is a decrease in turnover and interest in shopping for Sasirangan cloth, so that employees who work for Sasirangan cloth craftsmen are dismissed and reduce people's income. So the purpose of this study is to report the results of the development of a Virtual Reality Game application called VR-SasiranganKu by integrating the interaction of Non-Player Character (NPC) behavior with the type of narrative in the simulation genre game. VR-SasiranganKu is recommended to introduce and at the same time promote Sasirangan cloth to users, then justify the reaction to knowledge and shopping experience, and evaluate user experience using the UX Honeycomb method. Respondents involved as many as 100 people who are local and national tourists. The results show that the interaction of NPC behavior can provide good direction to users regarding the introduction of Sasirangan cloth by presenting an appropriate interaction design based on the narrative and the theme of the NPC that has been adopted, the results of justification using VR-SasiranganKu can provide knowledge reaction and very good shopping experience, and based on user experience evaluation that VR-SasiranganKu has adopted a very good UX with an average score of 4.91. © 2022 IEEE.

One of the problems causing low quality of essential oils is the high content of solvent resulting from traditional extraction process employing low purity metallic components. This extracted oil therefore requires further process to improve the patchouli alcohol content of the oil by removing unwanted components. One of the process is by mixing the oil with bentonite and zeolite. In this study, a sieve shaker is designed to be used at an integrated equipment for patchouli oil refining process. In order to have a dynamically stable shaker, it is necessary to investigate the effect of various components for the stability, particularly the spring stiffness. The simulation was conducted using Autodesk Inventor using a one degree of freedom model. It is shown from the result that, for the defined condition, the sieve shaker shown a stable condition for the spring stiffness value at least 10 kN/m. Spring stiffness lower than the value could cause detachment of the roll follower from the cam, resulting in impact between the components. © 2023, The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Diagnosability is an important parameter to measure the fault tolerance of a multiprocessor system. If we only care about the state of a node, instead of doing the global diagnosis, Hsu and Tan proposed the idea of local diagnosis. Chiang and Tan provided an extended star structure to diagnose a node under comparison model. In this work, we evaluate the local diagnosability better by proposing a tree structure around this node. We provide the corresponding algorithm to diagnose the node. Simulation results are presented for different failure probability of a node in the tree and different percentage of faulty nodes in the tree, showing the performance of our algorithm. © 2024 Institute of Information Science. Artificial Intelligence (AI) and marketing have transformed consumer behavior and shopping experiences, especially through Recommender Systems (RSs) in e-commerce. RSs use algorithms to provide personalized recommendations, enhancing shopping convenience. However, this raises data privacy and ethical concerns, as RSs rely on user data. This research explores the quality determinants of RSs and their impact on consumer behavior, focusing on privacy awareness and its effect on repurchase intentions. Using a qualitative approach with semi-structured interviews, the study targets Indonesian respondents aged 18-40 with e-commerce experience. Findings reveal that recommendation quality, especially self-reference and vividness, significantly influences purchasing decisions. Respondents prefer recommendations that match their preferences and are visually appealing. Positive shopping experiences are linked to efficient and accurate RSs, but there's a need for improvements in transparency, novelty, diversity, and advanced technologies like AR. Respondents are aware of digital data storage but have limited understanding of privacy concerns. They trust e-commerce platforms with basic personal details but are hesitant to share sensitive information. Despite privacy issues, e-commerce remains vital, with respondents emphasizing the need for transparency, robust security, and clear explanations for data use to maintain trust. Addressing these issues not only enhances customer experience but also demonstrates that consumer trust directly impacts the sustainability and success of the business. © 2024 IEEE.

The field of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) is experiencing significant growth as it involves the integration of medical devices and systems with the internet and various digital technologies. This study provides a bibliometric analysis of scholarly articles pertaining to the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) during the time frame of 2018 to 2022. The analysis is conducted using data sourced from the Scopus database. A total of 1165 documents were identified and analyzed to gain insights into the current state of research in this field. The analysis includes trends in publication output, top authors and institutions, and key research topics. The results of the analysis indicate a steady increase in publication output on IoMT over the past five years, with the highest number of publications in 2022. The top authors in this field were Mohanty, S.P., Kougianos, E., and Pirbhulal, S., while the top institutions were King Saud University, Chinese Academy of Sciences, and University of North Texas. Co-citation analysis revealed that wearable devices, telemedicine, and data analytics were among the key research topics in IoMT. This bibliometric analysis offers useful insights into the present research landscape of the Internet of Medical Things (IoMT) spanning the years 2018 to 2022. The findings can be beneficial for researchers, practitioners, policymakers, and funding agencies in understanding the trends and priorities in this field. The top authors and institutions identified in this analysis can serve as valuable resources for collaboration and staying updated on the latest developments in IoMT. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

The purpose of this study is to find out what makes Generation Z students accept and use Canva as a tool for making presentation materials. The conceptual framework of this study is the combination of "Technology Acceptance Model (TAM)"and the "Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2)". "Structural Equation Modeling (SEM)"used for data analyzation. This research aims to understand the dynamics of Canva acceptance among students. The findings show that enjoyment, fun, and pleasure in using Canva, combined with its creative tools and design-centric approach, significantly resonate with Gen Z's preference for aesthetics. This research highlights that Canva is favored by students for creating engaging presentations. © 2024 IEEE.
