We have successfully demonstrated CsPbBrperovskite quantum dots (QDs)/transfer-free eco-friendly (TFEF) graphene heterostructures with broadband and fast photoresponse. At first, the TFEF graphene is grown directly on the SiO/Si substrates in an atmospheric pressure chemical vapor deposition (APCVD) system with the copper-foil wrapping methods and camphor precursors. Raman mapping image (15 × 15 μm) showed TFEF graphene with high coverage across the surface (~65% single-layer graphene, ~15% bilayer graphene, and ~20% multilayer graphene). After that, CsPbBrQDs were synthesized and then spin-coated on the TFEF graphene surface to form heterostructures. Compared to pure CsPbBrQD-based photodetectors (PDs), CsPbBrQDs/TFEF graphene-based PDs show a higher photo-to-dark current ratio (PDCR) of ~ 7.2 at 2V white light illumination (112 mW/cm). Furthermore, the CsPbBrQDs/TFEF graphene-based PDs show a broadband photoresponse range from UV to near-infrared (NIR) with a peak responsivity reaching up to 32 mA/W, a high detectivity (2.2 × 10cm·Hz/W) and fast operation speed (rise/fall time: ~7/~14 ms). This study opens avenues to develop low-cost and rapid fabrication processes of perovskite/2D nanomaterial-based PDs for fast optical communication, image capture, and flame detection applications.

The purpose of this study is to find the influence factors of blockchain technology adoption of payments system in Indonesia banking industry. Moreover, the researchers proposed new model of payment system by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. All this time, the researchers of blockchain in payment systems were done in major countries such as UK, USA, Australia, Scotland, Germany, Japan, France, Italy, and China. Systematic Literature Review (SLR) used as a method in this study and there were five databases that taken as references, such as IEEE, Science direct, AIS electronic, ACM and Google Scholar. The researchers were found 26 references Studies Included in Quantitative Synthesis and 9 variables (Easy to use, Usefulness, Transaction fees, Risk perception, Behaviour intention of use, Attitude toward, Cognitive style, Subjective Norm, Effectiveness). Based on the result of data analysis and discussion, there were two conclusions in this study, the first, the researchers found nine factors that expected tobe used as a reference if Indonesia banking industry wants to adopt blockchain technology for payment system;and second, the researchers had to propose payment system model by using blockchain technology in Indonesia banking industry. © 2018 IEEE.

Bound states in the continuum (BICs) have attracted much attention in recent years due to the infinite quality factor (Q-factor) resonance and extremely localized field. In this study, BICs have been demonstrated by dielectric metasurfaces with hybrid surface lattice resonance (SLR) in the experiment. By breaking the symmetry of geometry, SLR can be easily switched between BICs and quasi-BICs. Comparing with literature, switching between BICs and quasi-BICs is usually accompanied by wavelength shift. Here, a design rule is proposed to prevent the wavelength shift when the Q-factor is changing. Also, such a design also makes subsequent identification of the laser threshold more credible. Due to the high Q-factor, low threshold laser is one of the intuitive applications of BICs. Utilize the high localized ability of BICs, low threshold BICs laser can be achieved by the dielectric metasurface immersed with Rhodamine 6G. Interestingly, due to the high Q-factor resonance of BICs, the laser signals and images can be observed in almost transparent samples. Not only the BICs laser is demonstrated in the experiment, but also the mechanism of BICs is deeply analyzed. This study can help readers better understand this novel feature of BICs, and provide the way for engineer BICs metasurfaces. The device can provide various applications, including laser, optical sensing, non-linear optics enhancement, and single-photon source. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. All rights reserved.

PPFIA3 encodes the protein-tyrosine phosphatase, receptor-type, F-polypeptide-interacting-protein-alpha-3 (PPFIA3), which is a member of the LAR-protein-tyrosine phosphatase-interacting-protein (liprin) family involved in synapse formation and function, synaptic vesicle transport, and presynaptic active zone assembly. The protein structure and function are evolutionarily well conserved, but human diseases related to PPFIA3 dysfunction are not yet reported in OMIM. Here, we report 20 individuals with rare PPFIA3 variants (19 heterozygous and 1 compound heterozygous) presenting with developmental delay, intellectual disability, hypotonia, dysmorphisms, microcephaly or macrocephaly, autistic features, and epilepsy with reduced penetrance. Seventeen unique PPFIA3 variants were detected in 18 families. To determine the pathogenicity of PPFIA3 variants in vivo, we generated transgenic fruit flies producing either human wild-type (WT) PPFIA3 or five missense variants using GAL4-UAS targeted gene expression systems. In the fly overexpression assays, we found that the PPFIA3 variants in the region encoding the N-terminal coiled-coil domain exhibited stronger phenotypes compared to those affecting the C-terminal region. In the loss-of-function fly assay, we show that the homozygous loss of fly Liprin-α leads to embryonic lethality. This lethality is partially rescued by the expression of human PPFIA3 WT, suggesting human PPFIA3 function is partially conserved in the fly. However, two of the tested variants failed to rescue the lethality at the larval stage and one variant failed to rescue lethality at the adult stage. Altogether, the human and fruit fly data reveal that the rare PPFIA3 variants are dominant-negative loss-of-function alleles that perturb multiple developmental processes and synapse formation.

Telemedicine offers the ability to provide real-time medical support, education, and care to remote and austere locations under limited bandwidth restrictions. These types of communication channels can easily be overwhelmed and delays or interruptions make communication difficult, if not impossible. These interruptions destroy the temporal orientation of communication resulting in significant cognitive loading. The objective of this research was to lower cognitive load and minimize digital communication bandwidth by developing a priority model from perceptual quality and content focus of telemedical video. H.264/AVC encoding was used to encode two types of medical context with varying bitrates, frame rates, and frame sizes. Telemedical video contexts were room awareness, and medical procedure. Objective quality and subjective quality tests were performed using Structural Similarity (SSIM) and perceptual feedback, respectively. The objective of this research is to develop context specific telemedicine communication models for the highest perceptual quality for available bandwidth for the purpose of increased temporal orientation and decreased cognitive load. Our research presents a method to select the best encoding parameters (maximum bitrate, frame rate and frame size) for the medical context to minimize bandwidth and maintain diagnostic and education quality.

Genome assembly using high throughput data with short reads, arguably, remains an unresolvable task in repetitive genomes, since when the length of a repeat exceeds the read length, it becomes difficult to unambiguously connect the flanking regions. The emergence of third generation sequencing (Pacific Biosciences) with long reads enables the opportunity to resolve complicated repeats that could not be resolved by the short read data. However, these long reads have high error rate and it is an uphill task to assemble the genome without using additional high quality short reads. Recently, Koren et al. 2012 [1] proposed an approach to use high quality short reads data to correct these long reads and, thus, make the assembly from long reads possible. However, due to the large size of both dataset (short and long reads), error-correction of these long reads requires excessively high computational resources, even on small bacterial genomes. In this work, instead of error correction of long reads, we first assemble the short reads and later map these long reads on the assembly graph to resolve repeats. Contribution: We present a hybrid assembly approach that is both computationally effective and produces high quality assemblies. Our algorithm first operates with a simplified version of the assembly graph consisting only of long contigs and gradually improves the assembly by adding smaller contigs in each iteration. In contrast to the state-of-the-art long reads error correction technique, which requires high computational resources and long running time on a supercomputer even for bacterial genome datasets, our software can produce comparable assembly using only a standard desktop in a short running time. © 2013 Springer-Verlag.

In the latest electrical consuming generation, computers are still mainly tools for paperwork and game platforms, and tablet PC field and smart phone field are two new fields with powerfully market potential. With a high degree of integration and user friendly interfaces, smart phones have become very popular among the general public. Using various sensors, touch pad, and screen of a smart phone, and designing a friendly control interface with software on it, we can achieve the goal that the computer users can interact with a computer via a smart phone. Therefore, this paper discusses the experiment of using a smart phone as a game controller. Through this attempt, we can get some idea and experience from the experiment to simplify the design of smart phones and improve it to develop a controller mainly used with computers or a new game controller. © 2011 IEEE.
