This paper investigates the global output feedback tracking control problem for multiple robotic manipulators. Firstly, the global nonsingular coordinate transformation to obtain a partially linear system is provided based on the solution of a set of partial differential equations. Then, a new class of velocity observers is designed to estimate the unmeasurable velocities for each system. By employing the estimators, we propose distributed control laws such that the UGAS (uniform global asymptotic stability) is achieved. The theoretical results are further validated by numerical simulations.

The distinctive driving scheme makes the stator windings of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) be coupled with the power grid directly. When the grid fault occurs, dc component will appear in stator flux, ready to induce large electromotive force (EMF) in its rotor circuit. As a result, both the rotor circuit and the rotor-side converter (RSC) would suffer from over-currents and over-voltages without proper measures being taken. Although the crowbar is widely used to protect the driving converter and keep DFIG tied to grid, the flexibility of DFIG control system has not been exploited and it's hard to meet the ever stringent requirements of grid codes in the near future. Although, today some transient flux compensation based LVRT strategies have been reported for DFIG-based WTs, the strongly dependence on stator flux linkages makes this kind of algorithms a little complicated and dependent on DFIG parameters. Following the analysis of the transient electromagnetic characteristics of DFIG on grid fault, a novel LVRT control strategy based on virtual inductance self-demagnetization algorithm is proposed. With the novel strategy not only the rotor transient voltage surge is suppressed very well, beneficial to enlarging the controllable voltage dip range, but also the transient flux observation is removed completely, decreasing the computation complexity and the dependence on DFIG parameters, therefore, the rapidity and robustness of the control system is improved. The analysis and design in the paper is validated with the simulation and experiment results on 11kW test-rig for WTs.

In this paper, we consider the stabilization problems for networked control systems (NCSs) over parallel independent communication channels, wherein each channel is modeled as a general fading channel, i.e., a combination of multiplicative noise and additive noise. A channel capacity notion is introduced for such general fading channels to represent their capabilities of information transmission. A necessary and sufficient condition for closed-loop stabilization with stationary signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) constraints is established which builds a bridge between the channel capacities and the topological entropy of the open-loop plant. When the condition holds, a channel-controller co-design approach is proposed to accomplish the stabilization. Finally, a numerical example is presented to verify the effectiveness of our results.

This paper presents a model predictive control (MPC) scheme for quasi-Z source (qZS) three-phase four-leg inverters. In order to cope with drawbacks of the traditional voltage source inverters (VSI)s, the qZS three-phase four-leg inverter topology is proposed in this study. To improve control capability of the controller, the MPC scheme is used. The proposed MPC is based mainly on the discrete-time model of the whole system. The proposed controller handles each phase current independently. As a result of this, the proposed qZS four-leg inverter has fault tolerant capability, for example if one leg fails the others can work normally. Simulation studies were performed to verify the steady-state and transient-state performances of the proposed control strategy under balanced/unbalanced reference currents and load conditions.

The inadequate resource allocation, lack of I/O performance prediction and insufficient isolation are affecting the storage performance in the multi-tenant cloud storage environment. In order to guarantee the Quality of Service (QoS), Softwaredefined Storage (SDS) is an effective approach in data centers. However, the lack of intelligence, robustness and selfadjustment are blocking the applications and promotions of SDS heavily. This paper focuses on the QoS-Aware I/O resource scheduling problem to build data centers with high availability, scalability and QoS. We will study workload characteristics, requirement analysis, the theory of QoS in SDS and I/O scheduling strategies. We obtain such goals by proposing a mathematics model of workload burstness, QoS semantic description with rule execution mechanisms and dynamic robust I/O scheduling algorithms for multi-type resources allocation. In the current progress, A QoS-Aware I/O Scheduling Framework towards SDS, qSDS has been proposed for the SSD/HDD hybrid storage. The preliminary evaluation in some benchmarks shows that qSDS can gain better performance compared with other strategies.

Spatial information has been verified to be helpful in hyperspectral image classification. In this paper, a spatial feature extraction method utilizing spatial and orientational auto-correlations of image local gradients is presented for hyperspectral imagery (HSI) classification. The Gradient Local Auto-Correlations (GLAC) method employs second order statistics (i.e., auto-correlations) to capture richer information from images than the histogram-based methods (e.g., Histogram of Oriented Gradients) which use first order statistics (i.e., histograms). The experiments carried out on two hyperspectral images proved the effectiveness of the proposed method compared to the state-of-the-art spatial feature extraction methods for HSI classification.

Sustained oscillations are often experienced when induction motor (IM) is fed with general-purpose PWM inverter operated in constant V/f mode, especially under light loaded and low frequency conditions. To stabilize the annoying oscillations and facilitate engineering practices of the simple control mode, an enhanced V/f control strategy is proposed following the analysis of the inherent mechanism of the phenomena. In the proposed control strategy, the frequency and amplitude of the output voltages of general-purpose inverter are dynamically dropped with respect to the oscillation components in the stator currents. To extract the right oscillation components, dual low pass filters with different cutoff frequencies are adopted to filter the active and reactive currents obtained by coordinate transformation on the sensed stator currents. The dynamic oscillation component out of the active current is used to drop the frequency and that out of the reactive current is used to drop the amplitude of the output voltages. By the proposed stabilizing method, the operating stability and drive system performances are improved as shown by small signal analysis, while the merits of parameter robustness and simplicity of V/f mode are still retained. The rationality of the analysis and the effectiveness of the proposed stabilizing method in this paper are demonstrated and validated by experiments.
