The equipment digital twins (EDTs) for discrete manufacturing should be calibrated quickly to avoid irreversible physical damage to the equipment caused by biased control commands. Therefore, an online credibility assessment method for EDTs is urgently needed. However, existing assessment approaches consume too much time, and thus could not reveal dynamic faults in time. In this paper, the dynamic relationship between online evolution and actual applications of EDTs is investigated. Then, two steps are proposed to accelerate the assessment process significantly. One involves pre-constructing a performance-deviation-agent (PDA), and the other involves dynamically fitting the application-time-window (ATW) probability distribution. The methodology is applicable to discrete manufacturing processes. The dynamic credibility of EDT evolution process can be updated after every iteration of the model evolution. Sorting manufacturing equipment was used as a case study to demonstrate the effectiveness of this method. The time consumption was reduced by 90% compared with traditional assessment methods in the case. © 2025 IEEE.

Mobility and Context-Aware Pre-caching Strategy Using Spatial-Temporal Informer for Vehicular Service

With the rapid development of vehicle-to-everything technology, vehicular edge caching has emerged as a crucial component for managing frequently accessed content at the network's edge. However, due to vehicles' high mobility, it is challenging to determine where and which content needs to be cached. To address this issue, a mobility and context-aware pre-cache strategy is proposed to proactively pre-fetch and replace content in two steps. Firstly, by integrating the traffic features from vehicles and roads, a spatial-temporal informer-based model is designed to predict long-term vehicle trajectories. Subsequently, a proactive context-aware pre-cache strategy is proposed. By analyzing the context of different cache types, the required content can be further accurately estimated according to the cache type and workload. Extensive simulations based on real-world mobility scenarios are conducted to validate the performance of the proposed method. The results show that the proposed method can improve prediction accuracy and cache hit rate by 34.56% and 18.89%, and reduce mean response time and total energy cost by 6.1% and 2.65% compared to the existing pre-caching methods. © 2014 IEEE.

Oral cancer remains a critical global health challenge, characterized by high morbidity and mortality due to late-stage diagnosis. This paper addresses the need for improved diagnostic accuracy by introducing a novel hybrid-attention aided deep learning model for oral cancer classification. Our approach integrates the EfficientNetB0 model for feature extraction with a customized hybrid attention module, combining self, spatial, and soft attention mechanisms to emphasize crucial features. The model has been trained and evaluated on both microscopic and macroscopic oral cancer datasets, demonstrating its generalizability. Our proposed model achieves an accuracy of 96.97% on a macroscopic dataset and 92% on a microscopic dataset, with respective F1-scores of 0.97 and 0.89, outperforming baseline models. This hybrid attention-aided deep learning model shows significant potential in improving early detection and treatment planning of oral cancer. Skin cancer poses a serious global health challenge, where timely and precise diagnosis is essential to improve patient outcomes. Recently, neural networks have proven to be highly effective tools for automated skin cancer classification, significantly advancing the field of dermatology. This paper introduces a novel approach to generate edge maps from dermoscopic images using a holistically nested edge detector model. These edge maps enhance the detection of shape and symmetry irregularities, which are key indicators of malignancy, and improve the focus on relevant regions of interest. We then propose an edge-guided dual-branch neural network, called EDB-Net, for the classification task. Branch 1 handles edge maps, while Branch 2 processes original dermoscopic images. To highlight significant regions and focus on specific lesion areas, we incorporate a novel channel-spatial synergistic attention block within Branch 2. Additionally, we introduce a unique strategy to modulate the generated attention maps using edge features extracted from the edge maps in Branch 1, creating edge-guided features that refine the overall feature representation. In the final stage, both edge-guided and attention-aided features are combined, producing more distinct and contextually relevant outputs, thereby significantly enhancing classification performance. Our model achieves accuracies of 0.927 and 0.848 on the challenging HAM10000 and ISIC 2016 datasets, respectively, without employing any data augmentation. The utilization of Wi-Fi-based technology for pervasive indoor user identification has gained prominence due to its cost-effective nature and compatibility with user devices. Previous works proposed capturing the media access control (MAC) address emitted from a user's device and using Information Elements (IE)-based MAC de-randomization methods to mitigate the impairment caused by random MAC. However, IE types of different Wi-Fi devices are not consistently differentiated, leading to identification errors in IE-based methods. Additionally, typical Wi-Fi fingerprinting approaches require densely pre-deployed Wi-Fi stations, contradicting the principle of pervasive localization. To address these challenges, we propose the mobile single station-based user identification (***) technique, which leverages Wi-Fi mobile single stations for pervasive indoor user identification. *** includes mobile single station localization (MSL) and MAC de-randomization based on users' spatio-temporal location and IE information (***). MSL can be implemented on a standard mobile Wi-Fi station without extensive pre-deployment. *** performs MAC de-randomization using the LIC algorithm to identify users with random MAC addresses. Experimental results demonstrate that *** outperforms previous IE-based user identification methods and multi-station localization techniques. MSL achieves a localization error of 1.15 meters which is better than multi-station with 12 APs of 1.40 meters. *** demonstrates an identification accuracy of 95.24% which is better than AIMAC of 85.48%. © 2014 IEEE.

In this paper, the attack detection problem is investigated for a class of closed-loop systems subjected to unknownbutbounded noises in the presence of stealthy attacks. The measurement outputs from the sensors are quantized before transmission.A specific type of perfect stealthy attack, which meets certain rather stringent conditions, is taken into account. Such attacks could be injected by adversaries into both the sensor-toestimator and controller-to-actuator channels, with the aim of disrupting the normal data flow. For the purpose of defending against these perfect stealthy attacks, a novel scheme based on watermarks is developed. This scheme includes the injection of watermarks(applied to data prior to quantization) and the recovery of data(implemented before the data reaches the estimator).The watermark-based scheme is designed to be both timevarying and hidden from adversaries through incorporating a time-varying and bounded watermark signal. Subsequently, a watermark-based attack detection strategy is proposed which thoroughly considers the characteristics of perfect stealthy attacks,thereby ensuring that an alarm is activated upon the occurrence of such attacks. An example is provided to demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed mechanism for detecting attacks.

In this paper, we have proposed a novel model, called Bonferroni Mean Operator-aided Fusion of Neural Networks (BFuse-Net). Here, we have taken advantage of the capabilities of four deep learning models as the base learners and then applied a customized attention method to prioritize different fine-grained features by passing their outputs via four parallel pipelines. Next, we have employed a novel aggregation method, a modified Bonferroni Mean operator, to merge the decision scores acquired from every pipeline, prioritizing their individual contributions above their interactions with others in the decision scores. Three medical image datasets— LC25000 (colon cancer), Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma, and Malaria Cell Images have been used for experimentation. The model yields state-of-the-art outcomes for the three datasets. Colorectal cancer remains one of the leading causes of mortality worldwide, often developing from precancerous polyps. The risk of malignant transformation is closely linked to the degree of dysplasia, characterized by abnormalities in cell morphology and tissue organization. Accurate dysplasia grading is vital for early diagnosis and improved patient outcomes. Whole slide imaging (WSI) facilitates high-resolution digital analysis of tissue samples, but the complexity of histological patterns and subjective human interpretation highlight the need for more automated analysis *** this study, we propose a deep learning model for dysplasia classification in colorectal histology using a weakly supervised learning approach. Unlike traditional methods, our model does not require pixel-level annotations and can automatically identify the most relevant regions for classification. We achieve state-of-the-art accuracy, reaching 96.7\% on the CRS10K dataset and 95.5\% in external validation using TCGA images. To enhance model transparency, we integrate interpretability mechanisms through heatmap visualizations, allowing a better understanding of the model’s decision-making process. Additionally, we emphasize the importance of uncertainty-aware classification in medical Artificial Intelligence (AI), ensuring that highly confident predictions can be automated while directing expert attention to ambiguous cases. Our goal is to develop reliable and explainable AI tools that support pathologists in making accurate and timely diagnoses, ultimately improving colorectal cancer detection and patient care. © 2025, The Authors. A Scalable Synthesis Algorithm for Reversible Functions

Reversible computation is an emerging technology that has gained significant attention due to its critical role in quantum circuit synthesis and low-power design. This paper introduces a transformation-based method for exact synthesis of reversible circuits. The proposed approach utilizes a modified Quine-McCluskey algorithm to eliminate input-output discrepancies in the truth table, transforming the permutation matrix into an identity matrix. Furthermore, a novel search space reduction technique is presented which, combined with the primary method, enables the synthesis algorithm to handle high-input reversible functions. This approach combines the influence of multiple control qubits on a target qubit, evaluating their collective impact. This aggregation can decrease the control qubit count within quantum gates. Consequently, it proves beneficial for applications like surface code error correction architectures as well as current Noisy Intermediate-Scale Quantum (NISQ) hardwares. Experimental results demonstrate significant improvements over the state-of-the-art exact synthesis methods, achieving up to 99% improvements in terms of the number of levels of T-gates. Large Language Models (LLM) is a type of artificial neural network that excels at language-related tasks. The advantages and disadvantages of using LLM in software engineering are still being debated, but it is a tool that can be utilized in software engineering. This study aimed to analyze LLM studies in software engineering using bibliometric and content analysis. The study data were retrieved from Web of Science and Scopus. The data were analyzed using two popular bibliometric approaches: bibliometric and content analysis. VOS Viewer and Bibliometrix software were used to conduct the bibliometric analysis. The bibliometric analysis was performed using science mapping and performance analysis approaches. Various bibliometric data, including the most frequently referenced publications, journals, and nations, were evaluated and presented. Then, the synthetic knowledge method was utilized for content analysis. This study examined 235 papers, with 836 authors contributing. The publications were published in 123 different journals. The average number of citations per publication is 1.44. Most publications were published in Proceedings International Conference on Software engineering and ACM International Conference Proceeding Series, with China and the United States emerging as the leading countries. It was discovered that international collaboration on the issue was inadequate. The most often used keywords in the publications were "software design," "code (symbols)," and "code generation." Following the content analysis, three themes emerged: 1) Integration of LLM into software engineering education, 2) application of LLM in software engineering, and 3) potential and limitation of LLM in software engineering.
