Next-generation networks,including the Internet of Things(IoT),ﬁfth-generation cellular systems(5G),and sixth-generation cellular systems(6G),suf-fer from the dramatic increase of the number of deployed *** puts high constraints and challenges on the design of such *** changing of the network is one of such challenges that affect the network performance,includ-ing the required quality of service(QoS).The fractal dimension(FD)is consid-ered one of the main indicators used to represent the structure of the communication *** this end,this work analyzes the FD of the network and its use for telecommunication networks investigation and *** clus-ter growing method for assessing the FD is introduced and *** article proposes a novel method for estimating the FD of a communication network,based on assessing the network’s connectivity,by searching for the shortest *** the cluster growing method,the proposed method does not require multiple iterations,which reduces the number of calculations,and increases the stability of the results ***,the proposed method requires less compu-tational cost than the cluster growing method and achieves higher *** method is quite simple to implement and can be used in the tasks of research and planning of modern and promising communication *** developed method is evaluated for two different network structures and compared with the cluster growing *** validate the developed method.

Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) is an independent device that comprises a discrete collection of Sensor Nodes (SN) to sense environmental positions,device monitoring, and collection of information. Due to limited energy resourcesavailable at SN, the primary issue is to present an energy-efficient framework andconserve the energy while constructing a route path along with each sensor ***, many energy-efficient techniques focused drastically on energy harvesting and reduced energy consumption but failed to support energy-efficient routingwith minimal energy consumption in WSN. This paper presents an energy-efficientrouting system called Energy-aware Proportional Fairness Multi-user Routing(EPFMR) framework in WSN. EPFMR is deployed in the WSN environment usingthe instance time. The request time sent for the route discovery is the foremost stepdesigned in the EPFMR framework to reduce the energy consumption rate. Theproportional fairness routing in WSN selects the best route path for the packet flowbased on the relationship between the periods of requests between different *** path discovered for packet flow also measure energy on multi-user route pathusing the Greedy Instance Fair Method (GIFM). The GIFM in EPFMR developsnode dependent energy-efficient localized route path, improving the *** energy-aware framework maximizes the throughput rate and performs experimental evaluation on factors such as energy consumption rate during routing,Throughput, RST, node density and average energy per packet in WSN. The RouteSearching Time (RST) is reduced using the Boltzmann Distribution (BD), and as aresult, the energy is minimized on multi-user WSN. Finally, GIFM applies aninstance time difference-based route searching on WSN to attain an optimal energyminimization system. Experimental analysis shows that the EPFMR framework canreduce the RST by 23.47% and improve the throughput by 6.79% compared withthe state-of-the-art works.

A Digital Twin is a virtual replica of a physical asset that can be used to simulate, monitor, and control its behavior in real-time. It has been increasingly used to better understand what is produced versus what was designed to bridge the gap between design and execution and to verify complex cyber-physical systems and assess their operation, especially under hypothetical scenarios. In this paper, we propose a novel architecture and implementation of a digital twin for a popular automated guided vehicle (AGV), namely TurtleBot3, which is a robot kit with open-source software. The design and development of the AGV Digital Twin architecture are introduced. This includes simulating the environment using Gazebo, modeling the AGV using a functional mock-up unit (FMU), monitoring the integrated sensors, and actuating the behavior of the virtual AGV and its physical counterpart using a dockerized private cloud with the aid of Robot Operating System (ROS). Along with providing a reference prototype for interested researchers and practitioners, the performance of the proposed system based on dockerized private cloud is contrasted to AWS services in terms of data recording latency as well as the inference time of MobilenetV1 on different setups. The results show that the proposed architecture for Digital Twins can effectively improve the efficiency and flexibility of AGV operation and provide valuable insights for maintenance, optimization, and testing 'what-if' scenarios, with an average mean difference percentage of 4.1% and 6.46% for the Digital Twin and Physical Twin speed and position similarity. The proposed architecture is also 9.15 and 3.15 times faster for object detection inference time when compared to private cloud and edge devices, respectively. Additionally, it outperforms the public cloud in data transmission with a 5.5 times speed up. © 2023 IEEE.

In the literature,numerous techniques have been employed to decrease noise in medical image modalities,including X-Ray(XR),Ultrasonic(Us),Computed Tomography(CT),Magnetic Resonance Imaging(MRI),and Positron Emission Tomography(PET).These techniques are organized into two main classes:the Multiple Image(MI)and the Single Image(SI)*** the MI techniques,images usually obtained for the same area scanned from different points of view are used.A single image is used in the entire procedure in the SI *** denoising techniques can be carried out both in a transform or spatial *** paper is concerned with single-image noise reduction techniques because we deal with single medical *** most well-known spatial domain noise reduction techniques,including Gaussian filter,Kuan filter,Frost filter,Lee filter,Gabor filter,Median filter,Homomorphic filter,Speckle reducing anisotropic diffusion(SRAD),Nonlocal-Means(NL-Means),and Total Variation(TV),are ***,the transform domain noise reduction techniques,including wavelet-based and Curvelet-based techniques,and some hybridization techniques are ***,a deep(Convolutional Neural Network)CNN-based denoising model is proposed to eliminate Gaussian and Speckle noises in different medical image *** model utilizes the Batch Normalization(BN)and the ReLU as a basic *** a result,it attained a considerable improvement over the traditional *** previously mentioned techniques are evaluated and compared by calculating qualitative visual inspection and quantitative parameters like Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio(PSNR),Correlation Coefficient(Cr),and system complexity to determine the optimum denoising algorithm to be applied *** on the quality metrics,it is demonstrated that the proposed deep CNN-based denoising model is efficient and has superior denoising performance over the traditionaldenoising techniques.

In federated learning (FL), the servers are generally seen as omnipotent to distribute the full models to all clients. This is not the case in wireless systems. The broadcast of models inevitably excludes some users with poor channel gain but valuable computation power and diverse local data. In this paper, taking the various computation and communication capabilities of users into account, we propose a federated learning scheme incorporating unstructured model pruning and non-orthogonal transmission. The pruning process divides the model into the core and the extended parts, with the ratio adaptive to the users' achievable working rates. With non-orthogonal transmission, the strong users get both parts of the model while the weak get only the core part. Simulation results show that the proposed scheme involves more users than traditional wireless FL and improves the accuracy of tasks within the given communication rounds. © 2024 IEEE.

One of the main challenges facing businesses migrating to the cloud is getting an estimate of their costs in advance. The estimators available to date allow companies to compare the different virtual machine offerings from each operator, but only venture very slightly into estimating the overall cost, which includes operational and network costs. Existing estimators include operational costs in their estimates, but almost no one considers the network cost, which is a complex but far from negligible component. In this paper, we seek to address this issue by proposing a new estimator called PricingTheCloud. It is an estimator that enables companies to have an accurate estimate of their costs in advance. Unlike other estimators, PricingTheCloud considers network costs in the cost estimation. Its evaluation shows an average accuracy of 86.73% for compute costs and 65.44% for network costs in different AWS-to-AWS scenarios as compared to AWS invoices and shows the effectiveness of the proposed estimator compared to three other cloud costs estimators namely, Cloudorado, Holori, and Vantage. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

UAV 3D Trajectory Planning Based on Improved A* Algorithm and Differential Evolution

Track planning technology, as a key technology for UAV mission planning, has always been a major research hotspot in the field of UAVs. In real-life applications, due to the complex and constrained UAV flight environment, how to establish an accurate environment model and how to select an efficient planning algorithm become the elements to solve the trajectory planning problem. In this work, after studying existing trajectory planning algorithms, a method using a combination of improved A* algorithm and differential evolution algorithm is proposed for 3D trajectory planning in complex environments. Firstly, the mathematical modelling of the UAV track planning related problems, including the UAV model, manoeuvrability constraints and equivalent digital maps, is carried out. Secondly, an improved sparse A* algorithm is proposed for solving the winding path problem of the sparse A* algorithm, which reduces the winding path of the trajectory by extracting path feature points and quadratic optimisation. Finally, the improved sparse A* algorithm is combined with the differential evolutionary algorithm and applied to the UAV real-time trajectory planning, where the improved sparse A* algorithm is used for the UAV global trajectory planning and the differential evolutionary algorithm is applied to the emergent threat avoidance, i.e. local trajectory planning. The results of MATLAB simulations show that the proposed method can solve the patharound problem of the sparse A* algorithm and can be flexible in complex environments to achieve dynamic trajectory planning, thus effectively guaranteeing the flight safety of UAVs in practical environments. © 2023, Taiwan Ubiquitous Information CO LTD. MOSDA: On-chip memory optimized sparse deep neural network accelerator with efficient index matching

The irregular data access pattern caused by sparsity brings great challenges to efficient processing accelerators. Focusing on the index-matching property in DNN, this article aims to decompose sparse DNN processing into easy-to-handle processing tasks to maintain the utilization of processing elements. According to the proposed sparse processing dataflow, this article proposes an efficient general-purpose hardware accelerator called MOSDA, which can be effectively applied for operations of convolutional layers, fully-connected layers, and matrix multiplications. Compared to the state-of-art CNN accelerators, MOSDA achieves 1.1 × better throughput and 2.1 × better energy efficiency than Eyeriss v2 in sparse Alexnet in our case study. © 2020 IEEE.
