Intelligent performance creativity is a new research direction of the intersection of technology and art. At present, the cutting-edge technologies such as computer simulation, emotional computing and machine learning have been applied to the evaluation and enhancement of intelligent performance creativity. The application of these technologies has greatly increased the diversity of performance forms and the complexity of performance content. For the traditional stage performance, due to the lack of timely feedback from the audience, it is difficult for the director to enhance the creativity effec-tively. In order to solve this problem, this paper proposes concentration level enhancement method (CLEM). The CLEM extracts and analyzes the physiological and emotional characteristics of the audience by collecting the multimodal physiological signal data of the audience. Through the analysis of the features, the concentration information of the audience is obtained and the concentration level (CL) is defined. Based on the physiological and emotional induction mechanism, a performance creativity enhancement strategy is proposed, which enhances the performance creativity in two aspects: " Visual-based" and " Content-based". Through the concentration level enhancement method, compare the audience’s performance attention changes before and after the performance creativity enhancement, select the effective strategies to enhance the performance creativity, and provide the director with quantifiable performance creativity enhancement feedback results. The experimental results show that the CLEM proposed in this paper can effectively induce significant changes in the audience’s emotion, and the selected creative enhancement strategy can significantly improve the audience’s concentration and achieve the purpose of enhancing the creativity of the performance. © 2023, Journal of Network Intelligence.

Quantum key distribution (QKD)-enabled optical networks utilize quantum mechanics to secure communications by establishing secure quantum channels. A critical criterion for QKD-enabled optical networks is ensuring network availability, which requires each quantum key service to adhere to a maximum unavailability constraint to maintain the network availability. This paper addresses the challenge of offering dedicated path protection for quantum key services in QKD-enabled optical networks. It ensures that the unavailability gap between the working and protection paths remains within the allowable limit for each quantum key service, adhering to specific unavailability constraints. Considering the constraints of the limited timeslot resources and network availability, we proposed quantum key service approach named a maximum availability (MA) algorithm. Simulation results indicate that the MA algorithm surpasses both the traditional dedicated-path protection (TDP) and fixed dedicated-path routing (FDR) algorithms in reducing total timeslot consumption and enhancing average availability. © 2024 IEEE.

Many models with deep learning exhibit good performance, but due to the noise generated during the dataset or image generation and transmission used for learning, it may include noise and cannot achieve the desired results and performance. The representative denoising technique of applying deep neural networks, DnCNN, forcibly generates noisy images by adding Gaussian noise to the original image and learning to be the same as the original image. Applying deep neural network denoising techniques to perform learning and denoising in this way. However, when performance depends on depth and simply increases depth to improve performance, deep neural networks will experience performance saturation. To improve this issue, this paper proposed an image processing system with a attention mechanism. This method improves the image processing method by applying the attention unit to the representative denoising deep learning model DnCNN, and converting it into an outburst structure. It is divided into two parts: focusing on internal relationships based on given input values and focusing on spatial information. These two parts are executed in a parallel structure and then combined. Focusing attention mechanism identifies and compresses important features, and quickly adding these features by highlighting the structure can effectively eliminate noise. In addition, by applying it to image processing methods that require noise removal, various applications can be carried out. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Good quality healthcare services require effective communication between the patient and the healthcare provider. This work will help improve the areas of healthcare systems automation and optimization by applying Speech Emotion Recognition (SER) in health consultations to prevent miscommunication between patients and healthcare providers. Crowd-Sourced Emotional Multimodal Actors Dataset (CREMA-D) was used to compare the performances of different machine learning models in classifying emotions. Before feeding the raw dataset to the models, exploratory data analysis was done to determine features that should be considered for future analysis. Our results showed that depending on the emotion, there are some syllables in the text that were emphasized or took time to be pronounced by the speaker. After data analysis, the dataset was fed into different models and determined that the Support Vector Machine (SVM) is a machine-learning model for SER. © 2023 IEEE.

Photonic integrated circuits provide compact and efficient solutions for multimodal spectroscopic sensors. However, the resulting sensory data is highly complex and contains significant redundancy. To circumvent high communication cost for redundancy, the photonic sensor and processor are brought into intimacy and propose a photonic multimodal edge computing system. A microring resonator crossbar is used as photonic processor with 5-bit accuracy. The in-situ processing of sensory data is demonstrated in this system, achieving a classification accuracy of 94.27% across 45 different classes. The multimodal edge computing system demonstrates the feasibility of integrating photonic processors and photonic sensors to enhance the photonic data processing capability. © 2025 IEEE.

A Complex Network Analysis of Image Watermarking Scheme Based on SVD and DWT

An investigation of the impact that watermarking has on image statistics is presented here. This paper provides a fresh methodology that is based on the degrees of visibility graphs, in contrast to other methods that investigate variations in intensity levels. The experiment utilizes the use of twelve standard images in addition to three watermarks. The findings indicate that the conventional method of intensity difference analysis produces distributions that are inconsistent across images. As an alternative, the method that has been offered, which makes use of degrees of visibility graphs, displays normal distributions that are more consistent across all images, regardless of the watermark. In light of this, it appears that the degrees of visibility graph provides a promising independent metric for watermarking analysis that is independent of both the image and the watermark. According to the findings, the difference in degrees between the original and watermarked images occurs according to a normal distribution, with the mean falling somewhere between -0.98 and -25.93. This range appears to be quite broad, and the reason for this is the outlier. After the outliers have been removed, this range is now -0.98 to -3.54 degrees. Overall, the study indicates that analyzing the degrees of visibility graph is a more robust and informative method of evaluating the effectiveness of watermarking than directly comparing intensity levels. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Electric vehicles (EVs) have gained significant attention due to their environmental and energy-efficient benefits. Dynamic Wireless Charging (DWC) has emerged as one of the most promising EV charging methods because it overcomes the challenges associated with traditional charging stations. However, as EVs keep moving while charging, this requires specific authentication and payment methods, enabling EV mobility privacy and ensuring fair billing. To address these concerns, we propose in this paper a smart contract based solution to deal with privacy and fair billing for EVs dynamic wireless charging. The proposed solution includes a lightweight authentication mechanism enabling a continuous authenticate-and-charge process when EV is moving on the road. © 2023 IEEE.

Social navigation in robotics primarily involves guiding mobile robots through human-populated areas, with pedestrian comfort balanced with efficient path-finding. Although progress has been seen in this field, a solution for the seamless integration of robots into pedestrian settings remains elusive. In this paper, a social force model for legged robots is developed, utilizing visual perception for human localization. In particular, an augmented social force model is introduced, incorporating refined interpretations of repulsive forces and avoidance behaviors based on pedestrian actions, alongside a target following mechanism. Experimental evaluation on a quadruped robot, through various scenarios, including interactions with oncoming pedestrians, crowds, and obstructed paths, demonstrates that the proposed augmented model significantly improves upon previous baseline methods in terms of chosen path length, average velocity, and time-to-goal for effective and efficient social navigation.
