Using the wireless waveform superposition property, over-the-air computation (OAC) enables federated learning (FL) to achieve fast model aggregation. However, this computing paradigm is vulnerable to poisoning attacks due to the openness of a wireless channel over time, where malicious mobile devices can introduce cumulative errors for the global FL model in a time-varying wireless environment for each communication round. This article presents a trust online OAC (TO-OAC) scheme to minimize impacts on the global model introduced by malicious devices adjusting to dynamic attack and wireless channel fluctuations over time. TO-OAC achieves this by utilizing trustworthy security quantification of OAC for each FL training round. To optimize the cumulative training loss at the aggregation node with the long-term power and trust constraints of mobile devices, we propose a joint trust, power, and channel-aware algorithm to flexibly update local and global models in response to the dynamic changes in the wireless and secure environment. We analyze the performance limits for the aggregation of trust models, considering metrics for computation and communication through time. We then propose another trust online regularization over-the-air computation (TOR-OAC) as an improved version of the TO-OAC scheme to decrease convergence time while ensuring long-term trust and power limitation. Experimental results performed on real-life datasets show that the two proposed schemes (TO-OAC and TOR-OAC) outperform prior works, especially in noisy, time-varying wireless channels and malicious attacks. 2002-2012 IEEE.

This study aims to identify photo-/electrocatalysts that can enhance the oxygen evolution reaction (OER), hydrogen evolution reaction (HER), and oxygen reduction reaction (ORR), which are of utmost importance in electro-/photochemical energy systems, such as solar energy, fuel cells, water electrolyzers, or metal-air batteries. Our study focused on investigating the 2D Ge₂Se₂P₄ monolayer and found that it exhibits a bifunctional photocatalyst with a very high solar-to-hydrogen efficiency. The two-dimensional (2D) Ge₂Se₂P₄ monolayer has superior HER activity compared to that of most 2D materials, and it also outperforms the reference catalysts IrO₂(110) and Pt(111) in terms of low overpotential values for ORR and OER mechanisms. Such superior catalytic performance in the 2D Ge₂Se₂P₄ monolayer can be attributed to its electron states, charge transfer process, and suitable band alignments referring to normal hydrogen electrodes. Overall, the study suggests that the Ge₂Se₂P₄ monolayer could be an excellent bifunctional catalyst for advancing photo-/electrochemical energy systems. © 2024 American Chemical Society.

In this letter, we investigate the end-to-end (E2E) delay performance for mobile cyber-physical systems (M-CPS) with edge computing. The traditional delay analysis is based on flow conservation law, whereas the flow is not conserved in the M-CPS with edge computing due to the existence of edge computing node and remote controller. To tackle this problem, we introduce two scaling factors to ensure the flow conservation, then the E2E delay bound of M-CPS with edge computing is derived via stochastic network calculus. In addition, to cater for the delay demand for M-CPS stability, the stable-aware delay bound is obtained. Numerical results show the gap between the analytic bound and simulation can be narrower as the average signal-to-noise (SNR) growing. © 2022 ACM.

In the era of global digitalization, digital innovation hubs have become essential, as they function as transforming forces. In this paper, we provide an analysis of the Montenegrin Academic Digital Innovation Hub by applying multi-criteria qualitative evaluation over several criteria: process flow of fully digitized operations of the Hub (with aspects of the innovation life-cycle, ethics, and security), resource management, strategic goals, and feasibility. The paper also proposes a model of comprehensive resource management via the perspective of smart specialization priorities of Montenegro. © 2023 IEEE.

The combined influence of mining activities and the underlying terrain gradient has caused significant transformations in the landscape patterns of mining cities. The natural topography being altered by mining operations can result in a distinct evolution in the spatial arrangement and ecological dynamics of these cities. Spatial heterogeneities are influenced by factors such as extraction techniques, waste disposal methods, and infrastructure development. The inherent terrain gradient heavily influences the distribution of mining sites and urban expansion patterns. This research underscores the intricate interplay between human-induced activities and natural topographical features in shaping the landscape of mining cities. The development of resilient communities in areas that are evolving due to mining requires a clear understanding of these dynamics for sustainable urban planning, environmental conservation, and community development.

With the advancement of information technology in the recent decades, digital and online services have become essential components of everyday life in Europe. Montenegro is no different in this regard. However, as digital literacy in the country is still in a developing phase in comparison with most countries of the EU, a higher portion of its citizens may rely on assistive technical communication. In this paper, we provide a case study on the assistive technical communication of Montenegrin eServices. The work addresses the sectors of online banking, healthcare services, higher education, national administrative services, and utilities. Our findings highlight the diversity in terms of implemented assistive technical communication, and distinguish usage contexts on the level of adequacy. Yet as the functionalities of Montenegrin eServices are expected to gradually expand in the upcoming years, assistive technical communication must aim to handle the higher extents of service complexity. © 2023 IEEE.

Five recently developed chemical kinetics mechanisms for ammonia oxidation are analysed and compared, in the context of homogeneous adiabatic autoignition. The analysis focuses on the ignition delay and is based on the explosive mode that is shown to drive the process. Using algorithmic tools based on the Computational Singular Perturbation algorithm, the reactions responsible for the generation of the explosive mode are identified, along with the variables (species mass fractions and temperature) that associate the most to this mode. Comparison of these sets of reactions and variables, obtained for each mechanism, allows to correlate the differences in the predictive outcomes from the mechanisms with specific reactions. The major differences identified, which lead to different ignition delay times, relate to (i) the relative duration of chemical and thermal runaways (a sizeable chemical runaway develops only in some mechanisms) and (ii) the dominant chemistry during the chemical runaway (chemistry involving species with two nitrogen atoms is active only in some mechanisms). The major similarities identified refer to the thermal runaway and in particular to (i) the chemical activity, which is supported mainly by OH-producing reactions and by reactions producing their reactants and (ii) the thermal activity, which is dominated by strongly exothermic OH-consuming reactions. © 2023, CC BY.

Trust and social commitments have been studied with different objectives for communication in Multi-Agent Systems (MASs) separately. The purpose of this paper is to present the first logical framework to explore the relationship between two key concepts in autonomous MASs, namely trust and commitments among agents, along with its model checking algorithms. An analysis is performed on this relationship, with a specific emphasis on the perspectives of semantics and model checking. The analysis is carried out within the framework of CTLC logic, an extended logic built on top of the standard branching temporal logic CTL by including modalities for reasoning about commitments and their fulfillment. Moreover, the study employs a trust operator to facilitate trust reasoning. We propose thus TCTLC, a new logic able to express properties about trust and commitments simultaneously. Such rich properties cannot be expressed in other languages. We introduce the semantics using the extended formalism of interpreted systems. We propose some postulates and proofs that show how we can reason about combined trust and commitments in the logic proposed. New BDD-based algorithms for our logic are presented and implemented as additional libraries of MCMAS, the default model checker of MASs. Finally, to evaluate the proposed technique, we report the experimental results using an industrial case study and compare the results with those obtained on relevant benchmarks. © 2023, The Authors. Diffusion models have demonstrated remarkable ability in synthesizing chest X-ray (CXR) images, particularly by generating high-quality samples to address the scarcity and imbalance of annotated CXR datasets. While these models excel in generating realistic samples-suggesting that they contain rich discriminative information effectively harnessing this capability for disease classification and decomposition remains a challenge. This study investigates an approach that leverages latent conditional diffusion models, which are conditioned on corresponding radiology reports, for lung disease classification in CXRs. Specifically, we employ a pre-trained latent conditional diffusion model for CXRs to predict noise estimates for a noisy input lung CXR under various disease conditions. By comparing the noise estimation errors associated with different class prompts, we determine the most probable disease classification based on the minimal error. Through the experiments, we demonstrate that the CXR diffusion-based classifier not only achieves zero-shot classification performance comparable to existing models but also reveals lesion regions aligning with ground truth lesion areas in CXRs. © 2025 IEEE.

The Internet of Things (IoT) has become a new paradigm by integrating a variety of applications like healthcare, transport, manufacturing and supply chain management. This resulted in the generation of various networks which are susceptible to Cyberattacks. The most prominent attack in the Cyberattacks is Denial of Service(DoS), in this attack the attackers flood the network with huge volumes of data or requests so that it restricts the nodes from accessing various kinds of services offered in that network. Intrusion detection systems (IDS) have proved as promising defence mechanisms to detect an attack in the cyber world. However, the resource constraints like lower processing power and low power consumption in IoT devices stood as a challenge in implementing the conventional IDS techniques in IoT devices. In this paper, we implemented a lightweight Intrusion detection technique using the machine learning based approach implemented on a Raspberry Pi. In which a support vector machine (SVM) classification algorithm is utilized for detecting the adversaries in the networks and the correlation-based feature selection algorithm is utilized for selecting the features to make the model lightweight. The experimental results have shown that the attacks detection rate and accuracy are satisfactory for our approach in case of a DoS attack. © 2021 Copyright for this paper by its authors.
