To increase energy safety when working with electrical devices (electronic equipment), a number of devices are used, such as a circuit breaker, RCCB circuit breaker, fuse links, relays and others. All of those components are designed to protect devices or people, who work with them, but access to them is often limited, in addition, the restriction is imposed also because the user must have certain qualifications. In addition, most of the elements are located in the electrical distribution box. The proposed concept of the control system is a compact solution, and allows to measure all the necessary parameters of energy consumption, analyze this parameters and make decisions, as well as, in fact, control the power of devices remotely using modern technologies, such as IoT, which expands the functions of a standard energy security system. The system itself can be located directly at the target consumer in the form of a surge protector or Watt-meter. © 2021 IEEE.

Fatigue is a prevalent issue that disrupts the overall well-being of individuals, leading to impaired cognitive functions such as learning, thinking, reasoning, remembering, and problem-solving. Chronic fatigue significantly increases the risk of accidents due to reduced focus, vigilance, and delayed reaction times. Traditional self-assessment methods for detecting fatigue are subjective and often unreliable. Recent advancements in neuroimaging have demonstrated that EEG signal analysis can objectively classify an individual's mental state. This research aims to develop a reliable and accurate EEG signal fatigue detection system. The EEG signals are decomposed into four levels using a one-dimensional discrete wavelet transform (1D-DWT). Textural features are extracted using binary pattern (BP) analysis and combined with seven statistical features. Then, these features are fed into a k-nearest neighbors (KNN) classifier to distinguish between the rest and fatigue states. Utilizing a dataset from the Mendeley Data website, the proposed system achieved an accuracy of 93.75%, precision between 93% and 95%, recall ranging from 92% to 95%, and an F1-score of 93% to 94%. This study highlights the potential of EEG-based systems to provide objective and accurate assessments of fatigue levels, thereby reducing the risks associated with chronic fatigue in daily life.

The limitations of conventional techniques necessitate the development of new diagnostic strategies for early detection of skin cancer, the most prevalent form of cancer. This investigation investigates the application of Spiking Neural Networks (SNNs) in creating a dependable and automated skin cancer detection system. The primary goal is to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of SNNs for this purpose. The methodology entails using the SpikingJelly framework to create and assess an SNN-based model, specifically a modified Spiking VGG-11. Focusing on images classified as melanoma or non-melanoma, the investigation employs the ISIC 2019 dataset. The Spiking VGG-11 model, which features approximately 15 million parameters, achieved a test accuracy of 81.3%, specificity of 81.7%, and precision of 81.5%. This performance is noteworthy in light of its reduced complexity compared to models such as the Spiking VGG-13, which has approximately 134 million parameters. The model's high specificity is especially advantageous in clinical environments, as it minimizes false positives and unnecessary testing. These results emphasize the potential of SNNs to offer diagnostic tools that are both efficient and effective in the detection of skin cancer. These findings underscore the potential of SNNs to enhance the early detection and diagnosis of skin cancer, offering a promising alternative to conventional diagnostic methods.

The eBPF technology enables the creation of custom and highly efficient network services, running in the Linux kernel, tailored to the precise use case under consideration. However, the most prominent examples of such network services in eBPF follow a monolithic approach, in which all required code is created within the same program block. This makes the code hard to maintain, to extend, and difficult to reuse in other use cases. This paper leverages the Polycube framework to demonstrate that a disaggregated approach is feasible also with eBPF, with minimal overhead, introducing a larger degree of code reusability. This paper considers a complex network scenario, such as a complete network provider for Kubernetes, presenting the resulting architecture and a preliminary performance evaluation.

To avoid a long period of no-pulse in a synchronized system for free-space quantum key distribution, a system based on a de Bruijn sequence was *** this system on-off pulse is used to simulate a \emph{zero} and on-on pulse is used to simulate a \emph{one}.However, these proposed sequences have high redundancy and low rate. To reduce the redundancy and increase the rate,run-length limited sequences in the de Bruijn graph are proposed in this work for the same *** maximum length of such sequences in the de Bruijn graph is studied and an efficient algorithm to construct a large set of these sequencesis presented. Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopmental disorder marked by repetitive and characteristic patterns of behavior as well as social communication and interaction impairments. Nowadays ASD is a great concern worldwide and its detection is an important issue for the better treatment. As ASD is neurodevelopmental disorder, brain signals play, especially electroencephalography (EEG), is shown potential sources for ASD detection. There are different approaches for ASD detection with processing and/or transforming EEG signals. This study investigated ASD detection employing fractal dimension measure on EEG data. Higuchi's Fractal Dimension (HFD) is measured in resting-state eyes-closed EEG recording of 25 subjects. It is identified that HFD is sensitive to the brain activity and ASD detection is possible from HFD values. © 2021 IEEE.

Currently, the use of terrestrial laser scanners (TLSs) for point cloud recording is widespread in the fields of architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC), with dimensional tolerance requirements ranging from a few millimeters to several centimeters. The technical specifications of TLSs define the nominal three-dimensional (3D) point accuracy based on distance. In practice, both the design of the TLS and the proprietary software calculation algorithms are key factors in the competition between manufacturers and are therefore not public. This, together with the multiple determinants of each type of work, makes it difficult to assume those values;so, it becomes necessary to use external models to study TLS error sources and standardized evaluation test procedures to determine and evaluate the precision of a TLS and its measurement uncertainties. In this work, we use the international standard ISO 17123-9 to evaluate a Leica TLS RTC360 scanner. We consider observation distances from 10 to 50 m, and use targets with different sizes and reflectance values measured with a Micro-Hyperspec hyperspectral camera. The results show that the use of optimal materials increases the range of the instrument used to automatically detect targets. Additionally, the uncertainties range between 2.7 and 3.9 mm (distances between 10 and 40 m), reaching values of 7.7 mm when the distance is extended to 50 m. Finally, some recommendations for improving the field procedure of this standard are described, with a focus on the interests of surveyors and highlighting the importance of the type of target used. © 2025 American Society of Civil Engineers.

Free-space quantum key distribution requires to synchronize the transmitted and received signals. A timing and synchronization system for this purpose based on a de Bruijn sequence has been proposed and studied recently for a channel associated with quantum communication that requires reliable synchronization. To avoid a long period of no-pulse in such a system on-off pulses are used to simulate a zero and on-on pulses are used to simulate a one. However, these sequences have high redundancy and low rate. To reduce the redundancy and increase the rate, run-length limited sequences in the de Bruijn graph are proposed for the same purpose. The maximum length of such sequences in the de Bruijn graph is studied and an efficient algorithm to construct a large set of these sequences is presented. Based on known algorithms and enumeration methods, maximum length sequence for which the position of each window can be computed efficiently is presented and an enumeration on the number of such sequences is given. © 2024, CC BY.

This paper develops a novel approach for online Lithium-ion (Li-ion) battery model identification and state of charge (SOC) estimation. To account for the SOC-dependent battery dynamics and the static nonlinearity between the open-circuit voltage (OCV) and SOC, we formulate a grey box nonlinear state-space model, in which elements depend on SOC in a polynomial way. For model identification, we propose an online concurrent state and parameter estimation by alternating the recursive least squares algorithm and particle filter; the SOC is computed via Coulomb counting during the modeling. The identified grey box model is then applied for SOC estimation using the particle filter. Simulation with real-world battery measurements demonstrates the effectiveness of the model structure and the estimation approach, which is reflected in accurate terminal voltage estimation and nonlinear OCV-SOC relation, and superior performance regarding SOC estimation compared to state-of-the-art approaches.
