A circuit technique for increasing the maximum output voltage slew rate (SR) of an integrated operational amplifier (OpAmp) with the HA2700 microchip architecture based on the modernization of the input differential stage (DS) is considered. An OpAmp architecture is proposed in which the influence of parasitic capacitances of DS reference current sources and capacitances on the transistor substrate on the SR is minimized. This allows the use of micron technological processes in the fabrication of CBJT OpAmps, which are widely used to improve the radiation resistance of microchips. computer simulation of the proposed OpAmp is performed, which shows that the SR of the new circuit differs from the SR of the well-known serial OpAmp by more than 40 times and reaches values of about 800 V/µs at the emitter current of the input transistors of the DC in the range of up to 80-100 μA. The developed OpAmp is recommended for practical use in discrete-to-analog filters on switched capacitors.

Phishing and spam emails are evolving threats in today's digital landscape, posing significant risks to small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs). Despite the growing demand for email security solutions, SMBs often face barriers such as high costs and complexity. To address this gap, this study introduces a cost-effective, multi-layered email security solution leveraging machine learning. The proposed system comprises four core components: (1) spam detection using natural language processing (NLP) to analyze email content, (2) phishing URL and QR code detection by identifying malicious patterns and attributes, (3) attachment security analysis to detect malware and harmful scripts, and (4) suspicious URL detection focusing on JavaScript obfuscation. The model was trained and validated on publicly available datasets, achieving an overall accuracy of 85% and demonstrating effectiveness in identifying diverse email threats. Designed as an email client, this tool empowers SMBs to secure communication with an accessible and robust defense against email-based attacks

Thanks to the Internet of Things (IoT) paradigm, it is now possible to develop computer applications that automate real, intensive processes, by processing sensor information using techniques such as artificial intelligence or computer vision. Nonetheless, due to the criticality of the processes they automate, intensive IoT applications have very strict Quality of Service (QoS) requirements to function properly, motivating their deployment throughout the Computing Continuum to optimize the obtained QoS. Evaluating and guaranteeing the QoS of this application can be a challenging endeavor, as current QoS evaluation tools are unable to predict future changes to the real world, evaluate multiple adaption alternatives, or act accordingly. To fulfill these needs, in this paper, we present the evolution of a Computing Continuum emulator towards Dantalion, a complete Digital Twin for the Computing Continuum. © 2023 IEEE.

Colorectal cancer is the third most diagnosed cancer in the world, but it has a higher mortality rate in men compared to women. However, we are not close to understanding how and why sex influences the outcome of the disease. This study focuses on mRNA expression profiles of colon cancer patients to look for molecular differences in the development of colon cancer between men and women. We used paired expression data (i.e., data collected in pairs of normal and cancer cells, by taking samples from the same individual), we identified differentially expressed genes (cancer vs normal) and computed co-expression and differential co-expression gene networks (men vs women). Doing so, we inferred the main changes and alterations happening in cancer tissues, and specifically how these changes were different among men and women. We found that the co-expression networks of women and men affected by colon cancer are quite different and we reported the genes that show the most differences in this comparison, checking if they could also be associated to sexual dimorphism or sexual hormones. Among these genes we found a interesting presence of genes associated to the Wnt signaling pathway which has been found to be regulated by estrogen and whose activation is strongly linked with colon cancer. © 2022 IEEE.

An approach that allows to partially solve the Cover-Source Mismatch problem is described. Proposed approach is strictly limited by steganography that distortion can be localize. The article is devoted to applying proposed technique to Least Significant Bits Replacement steganography in image spatial domain. The calibrated images (without the least significant bit plane) are analyzed. The procedures of sorting, clustering and regression analysis are used. The results of the computer experiment indicating an accuracy improvement of steganalysis are presented.

Bangladesh, as a developing nation, faces persistent challenges in satisfying its energy demands, primarily due to its limited natural resource reserves, particularly natural gas. Natural gas is considered a crucial factor in the country's socioeconomic development and serves as the main driving force for its industries and power plants. Nevertheless, its unregulated and extensive utilization poses a threat to the sustainability of all sectors, making it imperative to reduce its consumption. This study focuses on decreasing the consumption of natural gas in the domestic sector by advocating the adoption of induction cooking. In this context, the electrical energy needed for cooking will be derived from the readily accessible rooftop and floating photovoltaic (PV) installations within a particular community. This approach not only satisfies the community's electrical energy requirements but also contributes to mitigating the country's energy crisis to a certain extent. © 2023 IEEE.

The article presents a simulation model of a pneumatic drive for electrodes of a stationary contact spot welding machine. Thanks to the developed model, it becomes possible to analyze the system, as well as visually study its operation. The result of modeling the system is the obtained transients of the elements of the pneumatic system. The developed simulation model adequately describes the state and behavior of a real system of pneumatic compression of electrodes. The work is of interest to pneumatic engineers, designers and other specialists working in the field of pneumatics and can be used for more accurate and efficient design, analysis and optimization of not only a specific system of pneumatic compression of electrodes, but also pneumatic systems in general. © 2023 IEEE.

Modern vehicular networks encounter a multitude of computation-intensive tasks that have unique processing topologies represented by graph structures. The integration of edge computing and vehicular networks has provided a unique platform for handling these tasks at the network edge. However, the complex structure of these tasks makes their scheduling and execution challenging. This paper proposes a Vehicular Computing-assisted Edge Network (VCEN) architecture, where graph tasks are scheduled over a Vehicle-Edge Collaborative Cloud (VECC) for parallel execution. Our goal is to obtain feasible mappings between task components and computing nodes in the VECC while minimizing task execution latency and energy consumption. We show that achieving this goal requires solving an NP-hard optimization problem with complex constraints related to task structure and VECC topology. We then propose a fast and lightweight approach for graph task scheduling over VECC that comprises two key phases. In the former phase, we introduce a preprocessing algorithm that reduces the graph task's dimensionality by merging important components and cutting redundant edges. In the latter phase, we deploy a cost-reduction-preferred mapping algorithm to obtain feasible mappings between task components and VECC. Through simulations, we demonstrate our superior performance in different network settings.

The problem of electronic components placing on a printed circuit board of an electronic device is formulated in this paper. The choice of constraints and criteria for the optimization problem is validated. We propose to take into account the thermal compatibility criterion to ensure normal thermal conditions of the printed circuit board. An indicator of the problem solution quality is the maximum temperature of a component among all components placed on a printed circuit board. The temperature of the components is determined based on the solution of the heat balance equation. The ant algorithm for placement problem solving is described. The sequence of vertices of the decision graph in the path formed by the ant colony determines the sequence of elements placement on the mounting plane of the printed circuit board and thus corresponds to the placement problem solution. The decrease in the maximum temperature of the printed circuit board temperature field was assessed depending on the number of the stage of constructing the best path by a ant colony, with different thermal conductivity between the components and the surrounding air environment. The results of computational experiments for effectiveness study of the ant algorithm are presented. The experiments carried out showed the effectiveness of the applied ant algorithm and that rational placement of the electronic components on the PCB makes it possible to reduce the maximum temperature of the components. © 2023 IEEE.

Self-Optimizing Memory controllers present a great potential in the future of memory controllers. As they alleviate the burden of designing an optimal memory scheduling policy, while providing adaptability to different workloads and systems. Previous state-of-art controllers scheduled memory accesses on the command level. This causes the agent to lose sight of the relation between commands and can lead to the issuing of unuseful sequences of precharge/activate of rows or closing banks that should have been left open, and vice versa. In this work we propose a bank-aware self-optimizing memory controller that schedules memory references on the request-level, presenting to the agent the actual problem it needs to tackle. This simplifies the evaluation of system attributes and eliminates the need for correction mechanisms that was needed in previous controllers. With the proposed algorithm a maximum of 18% increase in the data bus utilization is achieved compared to the commonly used FR-FCFS algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.
