This paper presents a novel digital escape room developed to increase users' digital skills by dynamically adapting puzzles using fuzzy weights. Players find themselves in a virtual room buried with ancient manuscripts and modern digital interfaces and take on a row of puzzles stretching their pattern recognition, logic and sequencing, cryptography, and data sorting capacities. These tasks range from very simple tasks for novice users to more complicated tasks for advanced users, all in the name of the development of skills important to problem-solving, critical thinking, and cyber security. This is novel in including an adaptive difficulty mechanism for regulating fuzzy weights in controlling puzzle complexity in real time. In this manner, it will adapt the challenges in the best manner possible over a continuum from novice to expert levels, ensuring that they will have optimal engagement and continue to develop their skills. Since it interacts with individual performance, the system allows for personalized learning, being linked to an increase in learners' engagement and the development of digital skills at a pace personalized to the learners.

Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming our world, and education is no exception. The growing popularity and use of AI systems calls for a new understanding of what it means to be literate in the modern world. Thus, it is crucial for individuals to develop AI-driven critical thinking skills to effectively interact with these technologies. However, existing research focuses mainly on the "how" of AI integration, with limited exploration of the "why" and "how" of fostering critical engagement with AI tools. In this article, we propose an extension to DigCompEdu that aligns with the UNESCO pillars of education. This extension highlights five key elements that challenge critical thinking capabilities in relation to AI: "know-what," "know-who," "know-where," "know-how," and "know-why". By combining critical thinking skills with AI functionalities, educators can empower students to become responsible and informed digital citizens in the era of generative AI.

The psychology of personality is a part of psychology analyzing personality and its diversity for the people. It’s purpose is to depict how individuals are pesonally various due to psychological motives. Personality type refers to the psychological classification of people into various classes. Personality traits are distinguished from personality types, that come in various degrees. Many theories related to personality are available, but most of them include several and sometimes many sub theories. Constructing the Myers–Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) and The Big Five (BF) personality traits is crucial in personality pyscology. Our objective is twofold. Firstly, it is planned to develop a correlation model between MBTI and BF personality traits and apply it to conversational interfaces’ language models. Secondly, it is aimed to extend this approach to time-sensitive design by utilizing fixed-effect analysis, which is particularly useful when analyzing data from multiple individuals across various time points. The results show distinct observations, as seen in popular language models like ChatGPT.

This paper explores the transformative potential of combining Artificial Intelligence (AI) with gamified learning environments (GLEs) to enhance personalized learning experiences. Gamified learning environments have emerged as relevant practical tools that provide dynamic learning pathways, helping learners engage better through motivation, interactivity, and entertainment. Integrating GLEs with AI amplifies the element of personalization by analyzing student progress, strengths, and weaknesses to tailor accordingly. AIdriven adaptive learning systems create a flexible and supportive learning environment in which feedback, recommending resources, and adapting levels of difficulty are tuned to the pace of the learner. This stretches even to virtual environments (VEs) that enable learning through immersive and interactive experiences about abstract concepts in learning. Gamification is changing learning with more sustained motivation. The paper, therefore, discusses the possibilities of using those technologies in reshaping education and points to AI and gamification as cutting-edge tools that would help shape adaptive, engaging, personalized learning environments. Finally, it calls on all stakeholders, the educators, the developers, and the theorists, to empower those tools toward more inclusivity and innovation in education so that, in the future, learning experiences turn out functional and enjoyable. The goals should be underscored with the true potential of AI and gamification in democratizing education and improving learning methodologies until innovation is continuous.

The implementation of Natural Language Processing (NLP) in chatbots has significantly enhanced the efficiency and user experience of academic information systems. This paper presents a case study of the International Conference on Computing, Communication, and Information engineering (IC2IE) 2024, exploring how NLP-driven chatbot can serve as a robust academic information system. By employing advanced NLP techniques, the chatbot effectively understands and processes user inquiries, providing accurate and timely information about the conference schedules, speakers, submission guidelines, etc. Accuracy testing demonstrated an overall performance of 84.533%, with perfect accuracy in the 0.75-1.0 similarity range and 96.15% accuracy in the 0.5-0.74 range. The findings suggest that integrating NLP in academic information systems can streamline operations and enhance communication within academic events.

This paper forecasts the microeconomic level household expenditures using a novel hybrid deep learning approach. In terms of research significance, household finance control has a major influence on the finance system within the economy. Accurate forecasting of household finances assists in maintaining positive financial behavior among individuals and the economy. The DeepBoost multi-output regressor proposed in this paper is based on the 1D CNN-ANN and the XGBoost. The proposed model in this paper is compared with the R 2 , MSE, and MAE since it’s a regression problem. The experimental results reveal that the proposed DeepBoost multi-output regressor has the best application in forecasting the multiple expenditures of households by outperforming the ANN, 1D CNN-ANN, and Random Forest Regressor models. The proposed DeepBoost multi-output regressor evaluated the housing, food, transportation, healthcare, other necessities, childcare, and tax expenditures that had 0.94, 0.98, 0.83, 0.94, 0.97, 0.97, and 0.99 values for the R 2 , 9037.71, 2692.12, 9788, 15077.33, 1373.93, 13629.36, and 1904.52 values for the MSE, and 66.07, 34.05, 73.17, 87.05, 26.25, 78.74, and 29.47 MAE values than the ANN, RFR, and 1D CNN-ANN models.

Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) are used in a wide range of applications. However, since they are vulnerable to cyberattacks security protocols for their data are used. Common existing approaches for data encryption/decryption are based on commercial software platforms which execute their tasks with latency and consume a lot of energy. Moreover, they focus mostly on encrypting/decrypting telemetry data. This paper proposes a Field Programming Gate Array (FPGA)-based architecture for encrypting/decrypting all data exchanged between UAVs and their Ground Station (GS). This architecture uses the Advanced Encryption Standard (AES), known for its robustness, to enhance the confidentiality, integrity, and security. Experimental results show that the proposed architecture performs faster than implementations on well-known software platforms while it consumes less power.

The COVID-19 pandemic has drastically left the world with a profound impact that will resonate for years to come. The devastating loss of lives, the dramatic decline in economic output, and the disruption of social interactions have all contributed to a sudden shift in our global landscape. Monitoring COVID-19 symptoms has become essential in controlling the spread of the virus and preventing hospitalizations. This paper presents an innovative solution that leverages advanced wearable technology integrated with cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms to monitor biometric signals associated with the presence of COVID-19 and other pandemic diseases. For persistent monitoring, the system is designed to acquire biometric signals such as temperature, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation from wearable devices, which are considered as input to the long short-term memory (LSTM) network. The model will then reconstruct the signals, process them, and predict the health status of the patient with respect to the COVID-19 pandemic. Experiments were conducted to evaluate the performance of the system using two parameters i.e. temperature and heart rates. The system's performance was compared to a certified medical station, and both heart rate and temperature parameter tests obtained good correlation (R=0. 73 and R=0. 96 respectively). This indicates the feasibility of the proposed system in early prediction of the presence of COVID-19, representing a crucial step forward in our efforts to build a more resilient and prepared world to navigate the challenges posed by the ever-present threat of future epidemics and pandemics. © 2024 IEEE.

Transcription tasks have been long used as the de-facto evaluation method in mobile text entry research. Evaluations use memorable phrase sets, in order to prevent participants from devoting more attention to the stimulus phrase than the bare minimum. We present evidence from an eye-tracking study, demonstrating that the attention devoted to the stimulus phrase is much higher than might be expected. In fact, attention to the stimulus phrase takes up almost 50% of participant attention spent outside the keyboard area, and overall 25% of participant attention throughout any single transcription task. We explore a modification to the transcription task aimed at reducing this level of visual attention, without finding any statistically significant differences. These findings raise important questions on the continued use of the transcription task as the mainstream evaluation method for mobile text entry research.

Recent advancements in Artificial Intelligence (AI) have significantly influenced educational innovations, making learning environments more sophisticated with personalized learning, tailored feedback, and learning analytics. Among these advancements, Generative AI, namely ChatGPT, has emerged as a powerful tool in education. ChatGPT's ability to generate human-like content in real-time can assist educators with course design and educational material creation, allowing for enhanced instructional strategies without starting from scratch. Moreover, integrating ChatGPT into the recommendation process offers superior understanding of user needs and delivery of context-aware recommendations. In view of the above, this paper explores the integration of ChatGPT with a tailored prompt generator within an intelligent authoring system to offer effective recommendations for personalized content creation and instructional design. The system was evaluated and compared to its conversional version where instructors manually use ChatGPT. The findings indicate significant improvements in system usability, content quality, personalization, and time and effort savings, demonstrating the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
