Mirror detection aims to identify mirror areas in a scene, with recent methods either integrating depth information (RGB-D) or making use of temporal information (video). However, utilizing both data is still under-explored due to the lack of a high-quality dataset and an effective method for the RGB-D Video Mirror Detection (DVMD) problem. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to address the DVMD problem. To exploit depth and temporal information in mirror segmentation, we first construct a large-scale RGB-D Video Mirror Detection Dataset (DVMD-D), which contains 17977 RGB-D images from 273 diverse videos. We further develop a novel model, named DVMDNet, which can first locate the mirrors based on triple consistencies: local consistency, cross-modality consistency and global consistency, and then refine the mirror boundaries through content discontinuity, taking the temporal information within videos into account. We conduct a comparative study on the DVMD dataset, evaluating 12 state-of-the-art models (including single-image mirror detection, single-image glass detection, RGB-D mirror detection, video shadow detection, video glass detection, and video mirror detection methods). This paper forecasts the microeconomic level household expenditures using a novel hybrid deep learning approach. In terms of research significance, household finance control has a major influence on the finance system within the economy. Accurate forecasting of household finances assists in maintaining positive financial behavior among individuals and the economy. The DeepBoost multi-output regressor proposed in this paper is based on the 1D CNN-ANN and the XGBoost. The proposed model in this paper is compared with the R 2 , MSE, and MAE since it’s a regression problem. The experimental results reveal that the proposed DeepBoost multi-output regressor has the best application in forecasting the multiple expenditures of households by outperforming the ANN, 1D CNN-ANN, and Random Forest Regressor models. The proposed DeepBoost multi-output regressor evaluated the housing, food, transportation, healthcare, other necessities, childcare, and tax expenditures that had 0.94, 0.98, 0.83, 0.94, 0.97, 0.97, and 0.99 values for the R 2 , 9037.71, 2692.12, 9788, 15077.33, 1373.93, 13629.36, and 1904.52 values for the MSE, and 66.07, 34.05, 73.17, 87.05, 26.25, 78.74, and 29.47 MAE values than the ANN, RFR, and 1D CNN-ANN models.

The paper presents a learned two-dimensional separable transform (LST) that can be considered as a new type of computational layer for constructing neural network (NN) architecture for image recognition tasks. The LST based on the idea of sharing the weights of one fullyconnected (FC) layer to process all rows of an image. After that, a second shared FC layer is used to process all columns of image representation obtained from the first layer. The use of LST layers in a NN architecture significantly reduces the number of model parameters compared to models that use stacked FC layers. We show that a NN-classifier based on a single LST layer followed by an FC layer achieves 98.02% accuracy on the MNIST dataset, while having only 9.5k parameters. We also implemented a LST-based classifier for handwritten digit recognition on the FPGA platform to demonstrate the efficiency of the suggested approach for designing a compact and high-performance implementation of NN models.

In response to the escalating demand for electricity, the aging process and inherent failures in power lines have become unavoidable challenges in their operational integrity. This research addresses the imperative need for a robust method to detect damage in power insulator disc images, introducing a novel feature extraction technique grounded in color intensity profile transformation and ensemble learning. For the purposes of the research, a specific dataset was developed based on publicly available images of power insulators. The collection consists of 9232 images of insulator discs which included 2184 images of damaged discs. The discernible damages include breakages and burnouts. Two distinct analysis variants were employed. In the first variant (V1), two classification groups were selected: disc with damages and disc without damages. In the second variant (V2), three classification groups were selected: discs without damage, broken discs, and burnout discs. The described research was divided into two successive stages. In the first of them (S1), the transformed color intensity profiles for the prepared data set were built and various machine learning models for their classification were trained and evaluated. In the next stage (S2), previously developed, highest efficient machine learning models, were used to make the detection of various damaged types of overhead line insulator discs. For the first stage of research high-performance results and a high value of the F1 score parameters were obtained (F1 score = 0.999 for the first variant (S1V1) and F1 score = 0.992 for the second variant (S1V2). In the second stage of research and the first variant (S2V1), the highest result of the F1 score was 0.932 and for the second variant (S2V2) F1 score was 0.930. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Person image synthesis with controllable body poses and appearances is an essential task owing to the practical needs in the context of virtual try-on, image editing and video production. However, existing methods face significant challenges with details missing, limbs distortion and the garment style deviation. To address these issues, we propose a Disentangled Representations Diffusion Model (DRDM) to generate photo-realistic images from source portraits in specific desired poses and appearances. First, a pose encoder is responsible for encoding pose features into a high-dimensional space to guide the generation of person images. Second, a body-part subspace decoupling block (BSDB) disentangles features from the different body parts of a source figure and feeds them to the various layers of the noise prediction block, thereby supplying the network with rich disentangled features for generating a realistic target image. Moreover, during inference, we develop a parsing map-based disentangled classifier-free guided sampling method, which amplifies the conditional signals of texture and pose. Extensive experimental results on the Deepfashion dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of our approach in achieving pose transfer and appearance control. Federated learning (FL) has emerged as a powerful framework for training deep learning models across numerous distributed clients, where a central server distributes and aggregates model updates without accessing clients' raw data, ensuring privacy. However, this decentralized approach introduces significant challenges regarding fairness. Existing research shows that non-i.i.d. data distributions among clients can lead to biased global models, particularly affecting decisions based on sensitive attributes. This paper aims to investigate these fairness issues rigorously by analyzing how disparities in client data distribution impact model fairness. We conduct experiments using various models and datasets to evaluate and mitigate biases. We also propose novel data partitioning strategies to reflect real-world client data distributions accurately. Our finding shows that FL is highly vulnerable to the fairness problem due to the Non-IID property. Dialogue-to-Video Retrieval via Multi-Grained Attention Network

Dialogue-to-video retrieval is an interesting while challenging task, which exploits an AI agent to retrieve the video that matches and aligns with the conversational context between users. In particular, given a history of dialogue exchanges, the agent is expected to identify the most fitting video content that complements the ongoing conversation. The computational complexity posed by the processing of videos within deep neural networks encourages us to adapt CLIP, a cutting-edge large multi-modal models (LLMs), into the dialogue-video domain. On this basis, we propose a multi-grained attention network (MGAT), integrating query-scoring, dual-softmax and query-bank normalization techniques. We design a multi-grained attention module to optimize the inadequate modeling of conversation semantics in existing pre-trained models, dynamically assign weights during conversation feature extraction, and introduce conversation context features in multimodal alignment. Most importantly, fine-grained similarity by per-round query-frame scoring and coarse-grained similarity by high-level semantics of all rounds of dialogues for each video are respectively calculated, which are further learned via multi-grained attention mechanism. This approach effectively transfers CLIP's text-image multimodal knowledge into the dialogue-video retrieval system, alleviating the need for resource-intensive and costly fine-tuning dialogue-video procedures. Extensive experiments on multiple datasets demonstrate that our method outperforms state-of-the-art approaches. © 2013 IEEE.

Modeling Parking Occupancy Using Algorithm of 3D Visibility Network

The modernization of the information communication infrastructure of the regional data transmission network has advanced in order to increase the maximum transmission speed of existing transport routes, ensuring the quality of the service and its reliability. In the present research work, a new approach for the 3D visibility network algorithm has been developed, showing how graph theory applied to wireless sensor networks (WSNs) enables technological development for new solutions in areas such as public infrastructure. The possibility of determining in such networks whether an area of interest is sufficiently covered by a given set of sensors by means of the Voronoi diagram is discussed. The parking dynamics and parking system were modeled with cellular neural networks (CNNs) based on weather conditions, and magnetic parking sensors were replaced with pillar sensors. The proposed method has proven its effectiveness in determining the position of the minimum sensors covering the area of interest, in order to find a solution in the occupation of parking spaces in the presence of different weather conditions. The proposed approach and experimental results offer potential applications in various fields such as lighting and rendering, motion planning, pattern recognition, computer graphics and computational geometry, in order to conduct studies on problems and perspectives of pillar sensor technology while reducing costs compared to magnetic ones.

Quantum computing is progressing at a fast rate and there is a real threat that classical cryptographic methods can be compromised and therefore impact the security of blockchain networks. All of the ways used to secure blockchain like Rivest–Shamir–Adleman (RSA), Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) and Secure Hash Algorithm 256-bit (SHA256) are the characteristic of the traditional cryptographic techniques vulnerable to attack by quantum algorithms: Shor’s and Grover’s algorithms: can efficiently break asymmetric encryption and speed up brute force attacks. Because of this vulnerability, there exists a need to develop an advance quantum resilient blockchain framework to protect the decentralized ledgers from the future threats of the quantum. This research proposes Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC), Quantum Key Distribution (QKD) and Quantum Random Number Generation (QRNG) as a formidable architectural integration, to fortify security of blockchain. Classical encryption is replaced with PQC, QKD with secure key exchange by detecting eavesdropping, and QRNG with improving cryptographic randomness to remove the predictable key vulnerability. Only with a small loss of transaction efficiency, we increase transaction encryption accuracy, key exchange security, and resistance to quantum attacks. In this quantum enhanced blockchain design, the idea is to preserve the decentralization, transparency and security and at the same time overcome the future quantum threat. By going through rigorous analysis and comparative evaluation, we demonstrate that the approach saves blockchain networks from the emerging quantum risks to make sure that the decentralized finance, smart contracts and cross chain transactions. © (2025), (Science and Information Organization).
