This study aims to develop a health monitoring system using an ESP8266 microcontroller and fuzzy logic to view real-time health data and predict the patients’ heart health conditions. The system is designed to monitor various physiological data, including heart rate and blood pressure, by utilizing sensors connected to the ESP8266 microcontroller device. Data obtained from the sensors will be transmitted wirelessly to a web-based platform, which facilitates remote monitoring and real-time data visualization. In addition, fuzzy logic is used to analyze the sensor data, classifying the health status into defined categories, including normal, moderate, and critical. This method facilitates a comprehensive understanding of the health situation, which offers patients a precise and clear description of their health status. The results of this study indicate that the combination of ESP8266 with fuzzy logic offers an effective, economical, and scalable solution for real-time health monitoring. This device can be applied for remote patient monitoring and early identification of possible heart disease problems.

Modern programming languages, such as Java, use exception-handling mechanisms to guarantee the robustness of software systems. Although important, the quality of exception code is usually poor and neglected by developers. Indiscriminate robustness changes (e.g., the addition of empty catch blocks) can indicate design decisions that negatively impact the internal quality of software systems. As it is known in the literature, multiple occurrences of poor code structures, namely code smells, are strong indicators of design problems. Still, existing studies focus mainly on the correlation of maintainability smells with design problems. However, using only these smells may not be enough since developers need more context (e.g., system domain) to identify the problems in certain scenarios. Moreover, these studies do not explore how changes in the exceptional code of the methods combined with maintainability smells can give complementary evidence of design problems. By covering both regular and exception codes, the developer can have more context about the system and find complementary code smells that reinforce the presence of design problems. This work aims to leverage the identification of design problems by tracking poor robustness changes combined with maintainability smells. We investigated the correlation between robustness changes and maintainability smells on the commit history of more than 160k methods from different releases of 10 open-source software systems. We observed that maintainability smells can be worsened or even introduced when robustness changes are performed. This scenario mainly happened for the smells Feature Envy, Long Method, and Dispersed Coupling. We also analyzed the co-occurrence between robustness and maintainability smells. We identified that the empty catch block and catch throwable robustness smells were the ones that co-occurred the most with maintainability smells related to the Concern Overload and Misplaced Concern design problems. This article uses the well-known multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM) theory to determine which laptop is the best among those that are currently on the market. To illustrate the importance of decision-making in a class of 25 students, data on laptop features was gathered for this case study. The following eight factors were considered while choosing an option: price, weight, RAM, camera megapixels, screen size, clock speed, operating system, and laptop appearance. SAW and WPM determine the optimal laptop alternative. To rank laptop qualities, identical weights are applied. The suggested work displays laptop rankings derived by SAW and WPM methods. Future engineers and management may benefit significantly from this straightforward decision-making process. More important attributes/criteria and alternatives may be taken into account, and there are a variety of weighting techniques from which to choose. The study emphasizes the importance of incorporating user preferences and real-time market data to ensure personalized and up-to-date laptop recommendations. Through this approach, users can make well-informed decisions that align with their specific needs and environmental considerations. © 2023 IEEE.

A novel embedded controller is proposed for the management of electrical consumption in residential installations. The proposed system is designed to implement well-established DSM techniques. It can be placed directly into the electrical board of a residential circuit and can be connected to the smart grid. The controller is based on a PIC microcontroller and incorporates a series of perceptrons which adjust the duty cycle of PWM modules according to user defined preferences. The system is tested in laboratory conditions and is proved to be able to adjust the total current to a predefined threshold, without violating user comfort and priorities. The proposed embedded controller is a flexible solution in the form of a final product, ready for the smart grid and able to support microgrids.

Building an abstract syntax tree is an integral part of compilers. We analyze a few of the popular techniques providing such analysis in the web environment. Based on the analysis of these solutions, we deal with the implementation of our parser solution, which also provides a graphical representation of abstract syntax trees as well as proof trees. This solution is then used in our application designed to interpret the expressions of the simple teaching functional language of natural numbers and boolean values. In addition, the application supports the evaluation (semantics) of expressions (step by step), and also their individual properties: the depth of the syntax tree, syntax tree nodes count, and the constants used in the expression. © 2022 IEEE.

The successful application of large pre-trained models such as BERT in natural language processing has attracted more attention from researchers. Since the BERT typically acts as an end-to-end black box, classification systems based on it usually have difficulty in interpretation and low robustness. This paper proposes a visual interpretation-based self-improving classification model with a combination of virtual adversarial training (VAT) and BERT models to address the above problems. Specifically, a fine-tuned BERT model is used as a classifier to classify the sentiment of the text. Then, the predicted sentiment classification labels are used as part of the input of another BERT for spam classification via a semi-supervised training manner using VAT. Additionally, visualization techniques, including visualizing the importance of words and normalizing the attention head matrix, are employed to analyze the relevance of each component to classification accuracy. Moreover, brand-new features will be found in the visual analysis, and classification performance will be improved. Experimental results on Twitter’s tweet dataset demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed model on the classification task. Furthermore, the ablation study results illustrate the effect of different components of the proposed model on the classification results. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

In the traditional service architecture (Service-Oriented Architecture, SOA), the Web Service provider registers its service description in the registry for service consumers to discover and call services. Although this architecture can provide open service calls, it lacks a dispute resolution mechanism. The trusted invocation of services between service consumers and providers who do not trust each other cannot be guaranteed. Blockchain technology has significant advantages in decentralization and anti-tampering and can be reasonably applied in traditional SOA to solve the problem of service credibility. Trusted SOA architecture based on blockchain is proposed to realize credible service invocation by combining traditional SOA architecture and blockchain technology. During a credible service invocation, or service consumption, The provider encrypts the parameters and sends them to the target service provider;the service provider receives the encrypted parameters and completes the decryption;the service provider completes the service execution and completes the encryption of the output result;finally, the service provider sends the encrypted result to the service provider Consumers complete the construction and chaining of trusted credentials at the same time. Based on the above, when a service dispute occurs, the ruling smart contract will be triggered to handle the service dispute correctly. The experimental results show that compared with the traditional invocation, the proposed method can correctly handle service disputes between service providers and requesters under the premise of ensuring that the growth rate of most Service trusted call times is not more excellent than 30%. by combining traditional SOA architecture and blockchain technology by combining traditional SOA architecture and blockchain technology. © 2024 The Author(s).

Background: In this era of voluminous data, there is a need to process data speedily in less time. Moreover, it is also essential to diminish the dimensionality of data as well as to apply parallel computations for classification. SVM is a prominent classification tool and is currently one of the most popular state-of-the-art models for solving various classification problems that makes use of parallel computations to speed up its processing. Objective: To develop a fast, promising classification system using optimized SVM classifier with hybridized dimensionality reduction for the diagnosis of cancer disease. Methods: The proposed approach comprises of two stages – the first stage presents a hybrid approach to reduce the dimensionality of cancer datasets, and the second stage presents an efficient classification method to optimize the SVM parameters and improve its accuracy. To lessen the execution time, the proposed approach uses GPUs to concurrently run different processes on machine workers. Results: The proposed method with the combination of dimensionality reduction & parallel classification using optimized SVM classifier is found to give excellent results based on ‘Classification Accuracy’, ‘Selected Features’ and ‘Execution Time’. Conclusion: The experimental findings with benchmark datasets indicate that the proposed diagnostic model yields significant improvement in terms of execution time when compared to the conventional approach. The proposed model can assist doctors and medical professionals in the quick selection of most significant risk factors for the diagnosis and prognosis of cancer diseases. © 2021 Bentham Science Publishers.

The computer has seen significant evolution in recent years, with applications in variety of disciplines like Machine Learning, Deep Learning etc. Machine Translation (MT) technology has advanced significantly as a subfield, with many methodologies and techniques. The number of individuals using the internet has risen tremendously. Most documents are written in English since that is the most extensively used language on the internet. If a user's first dialect is Gujarati, he or she will naturally prefer to access the information in Gujarati whenever possible. Even though there are already various MT systems and tools that support Indian languages;however, the translation's quality is mediocre and might be improved. As observed, when models are trained on limited quantities of parallel data, their performance declines. Learned models often have limited performance (inaccurate translations and feature scores) along with low coverage (high out-of-vocabulary rates). Furthermore, the researchers were driven to present novel methodologies and solutions that would automatically construct Datasets for MT due to the increased demand for effective technologies to process and translate information from/to Gujarati Language. Our objective of generating a Gujarati-English dataset has been met in two ways. We have already introduced GEDset, that is automatic Dataset Builder for Machine Translation System with Specific Reference to Gujarati-English [1]. Here, in this paper we are proposing a model to automatically build Gujarati-English dataset from audio that is available in Gujarati Language through Speech Processing. © 2022 IEEE.
