Blockchain technology, a transformative force in digital transactions, has emerged as a significant enabler of secure, transparent, and traceable operations within supply chain management and logistics (SCML). Its immutable nature facilitates enhanced management of SCML activities by seamlessly integrating information flow throughout the value chain, and substantially increasing data integrity and operational reliability. While organizations are attracted to these capabilities, they still lack comprehensive guidelines to fully benefit from blockchain in SCML. There is a fundamental need to assist organizations in assessing and enhancing their blockchain-based SCML capabilities. Maturity models (MMs) are tools that help organizations assess and improve their processes, providing step-by-step guidelines from basic to advanced levels of maturity. Therefore, this study aims to identify and analyze MMs focused on blockchain-based SCML. An extensive systematic literature review (SLR) was conducted, and thirteen relevant studies were identified and evaluated against a comprehensive set of quality criteria. The analysis revealed that none of the existing MMs fully satisfied all criteria, highlighting a significant gap in the field. This research provides a thorough systematic analysis of MMs for blockchain-based SCML, offering an in-depth view of their levels, dimensions, research focuses, domains, industry targets, and their quality evaluation. The significance of this study lies in identifying the necessity for an MM specifically designed for blockchain-based SCML, addressing a critical gap in the current literature. These findings contribute to the growing body of knowledge on blockchain integration in SCML and provide a foundation for future research.

The Least recently used (LRU) replacement has been widely employed by on-chip shared caches. With the increase of cache associativity, the performance gap between LRU and theoretical optimal re-placement algorithm is significant, motivating us to design alternative replacement algorithms to improve cache performance. We propose a Partition-based cache replacement (PCR) algorithm to manage multi-core shared L2 caches. PCR takes into consideration recency and frequency information of cache access, and cache resource interference among multiple competing applications. PCR is effective to filter out the less frequently reused blocks through a dynamic insertion/promotion policy based on the target partitions, and ensures that some fraction of the working set is retained in the cache to contribute to more hits. Our evaluation shows that PCR improves performance of an 8-core system by an average of 11.3% over LRU-based cache.

Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (RISs) have emerged as a promising technology to enhance wireless communication systems by enabling dynamic control over the propagation environment. However, practical experiments are crucial towards the validation of the theoretical potential of RISs while establishing their real-world applicability, especially since most studies rely on simplified models and lack comprehensive field trials. In this paper, we present an efficient method for configuring a 1-bit RIS prototype at sub-6 GHz, resulting in a codebook oriented for beam sweeping; an essential protocol for initial access and Angle of Arrival (AoA) estimation. The measured radiation patterns of the RIS validate the theoretical model, demonstrating consistency between the experimental results and the predicted beamforming behavior. Furthermore, we experimentally prove that RIS can alter channel properties and by harnessing the diversity it provides, we evaluate beam sweeping as an AoA estimation technique. Finally, we investigate the frequency selectivity of the RIS and propose an approach to address indoor challenges by leveraging the geometry of environment.

Have you read any of the common reads for SIGCSE 2025? Now's your chance to talk about them (or other science fiction)! Our novel selection, Light from Uncommon Stars, by Ryka Aoki (https://***/books/9781250789075/lightfromuncommonstars), and a short story with a long title by Pittsburgh author Timons Esaias, "Excerpts from the Text of an Explanatory Stele Erected for our Edification by the Scholars of the Outer Orion Tendril" (https://***/esaias0921/) will be featured, but we welcome all book discussion. If you're interested in books, whether on a personal, academic, or pedagogical level, come join us in this BoF and discuss one or more of the books and short story. We'll provide potential topics and discussion questions targeting how to incorporate these books into a CS course, but the discussion will be open. The BoF will close with a discussion of potential books and stories for the 2026 conference.
